On average, what kind of discounted rate can you get with an annual pass when staying at a Disney resort. Not looking for hard numbers, just a ballpark figure (20%? 30%? 40%).

Thanks in advance!

We saved almost $200 beyond the AAA discount on a Sat-Saturday stay. I've heard that AP discounts aren't always available on rooms so I would contact a disney agent to have them check before you buy an annual pass, unless you were going to use one anyway. We had planned on buying AP for this year since we're going twice, but I still had my agent compare rates before I bought it. It turned out to be a good buy also because as DVC members we get a discount off the AP's then we got the AP rate at the Poly and we're going to get the Disney Dining Experience card at the AP rate.

I booked the Poly during value season, I am paying $330.00 before tax and rack rate for the same period is $400.00 before tax for a lagoonview room.
This works out to just about 18%.

Lately it's been a flat $ amount off depending on the class of the resort (value, moderate, deluxe), rather than a %. According to HelenK's example, deluxes are $70 off.

Through this past summer, we saved $100 or more per night on our deluxe rooms by getting an AP rate. This sometimes took several calls, but we've always scored exactly the room and resort we've wanted. At a moderate, we saved around $80 over Memorial Weekend (not really good to go by since some rates were inflated for this very, very busy weekend). During our trip last week, we had to rely on a AAA discount. We saved about $10/night on our value room. The savings on a moderate was around $35/night. While I've heard a lot of complaining about AP discounts not being very good, rates for Christmas (We booked a GREAT rate yesterday) seem to be about the same as this past summer.

We have a standard view room at POR booked through the BRP for our upcoming stay at POR from Nov 19th through the 26th. We are paying $109 a night plus tax. Rack Rate for this time is $149 a night plus tax. So what is that about 27% off?

I just booked 5 nights at Poly and 1 night at AS Movies using the AP's BRP discount for 1/14-1/20. I saved $529.65 (28%) for the Poly nights and $22.60 (25%)for the ASM night. Not a bad discount! After the extra cost for the AP I ended up saving $366 overall!
