I vote for just calling DDE and end the speculation, they will tell you exactly what to do in your situation. It is definitely worth it though.

The nice thing is, unless you are planning on going to EPCOT that day and you have a car, either get there first thing and park up close by the entrance and run up, they are to the right of the entrance, or if you drive up later and they are parking people WAAAAY out back (to the left as you approach the tram course) tell the person directing traffic that yo uare just running up to Guest Services and they should direct you to park to the right towards the park. I've been able to do each and it makes for a les stressful pickup.

When I picked mine up in December Guest Service window was to the right of the entrance. We just took the bus and it was on the right before you get to thd ticket sales and entrance area. I got my voucher in less than a week after ordering it from member services and then called the DDE number from home. The DDE temporary card was waiting for me at EPCOT when we got there Christmas Eve. It isn't good for holidays but we picked it up anyway. The permanent card got to my house several weeks after the trip and is good until Feb 2008. The first time I got one I traded in my AP voucher at DTD on a Sunday and then called DDE first thing Monday morning, picked up the DDE card at EPCOT at 5PM that afternoon in time for our reservation at Mama Melroses. We just planned our day so that it was convenient to do that. We didn't need the card for Sunday as we had no TS meals planned.

It is to the right. I was thinking about them trying to park you to the left so thats what apparently came out my fingers. I fixed it.

I'm not sure about the blackout thing because I used it at Spoodles on Thanksgiving which was their "special" meal, you got what they were serving, no menu, turkey dinner. So maybe it's only at certain places.

DDE is just so convenient because you can use it at more places at all 3 meals if they're open and it's more discount. We went to Ohana last year with 5 adults and 2 teens and one of our party was a cast member that had been using their discount for us on "stuff" in the parks. But at dinner that night, my DDE was a bigger discount than the CM one, I think because theirs doesn't include beverages and we had 5 adults with adult beverages (and you know they just GIVE those away!!) on top of the $25/person meals for 7 people. I think I paid for my DDE card that one dinner
