Annual Pass and doing the Disney Dinning Plan

If you want a dining plan and have an AP you will have to book a ticketless package by phone or on the AP website. It cannot be added to a room only reservation so if you already have one you will have to book the ticketless package then cancel the room only reservation. Because room only and packages are booked by different offices and monies from one cannot be transferred to the other you'll need to pay a new deposit for the package and the deposit for the room only will be refunded . The ticketless package will follow all the rules of a regular package ($200 deposit, final payment due 45 days before arrival date, cancellation penalties and change fees for any changes made within 45 days of arrival).

I'm confused on how to do this? You book a ticketless package which gets you dining plan...will you get ap discount on room?

You'll get an AP discount on the room if you book under the AP rate. What you book is an AP package, which has to include dining to be a package. If you have a room only reservation, the room only reservation will need to be canceled and an AP package booked.

If there is an AP discount available on the room, you can apply it to a ticketless package. Be careful if you have to cancel a room-only reservation to book the package. Make sure the CM you speak to can do this without losing your reservation or your discount.

I'm pretty bummed. I just called to add the dining plan to my AP room only reservation, which I just changed last week to CBR from AoA, and because of having to rebook it all it would be $300 more! The agent didn't sound too confident in what she was doing but she checked a bunch of times. She said only a certain number of rooms have packages available.

Should I call back and see if another agent can add it? I was assuming it would be just added in at the posted DDP prices but I guess not?

You cannot add a dining plan to any room only reservation. With the AP you have to book a ticketless AP package with dining. If you had a discounted AP room rate, it is possible that none were available with that rate when booking a package. It's also possible that the only rooms available were in a more expensive room category. Also, when booking a package, insurance is added. Or if the castmember wasn't too sure of what she was doing it's possible she added one day tickets to your package. I would call back and see what a different CM can book. :)

Thank you! I did call back, and the wonderful cm Mallory was able to add the dining plan for the price I was expecting! Whew! And I even got disconnected right as I was about to pay - so I was nearly in tears - until my phone rang and it was Disney calling me back! Yay!
