annual pass 20% discount expiration

I only consider doing it when I am already planning two + trips within one year and the ticket cost exceeds that of an AP. Everything else on top of that is a bonus. In full disclosure when we end up with APs we usually do add at least one small trip wihin the year as well

Thanks for your help

But....succeeded to resist, or not? :scratchin

LOL - of course not!

The 20% off dining just never made sense to me... that covers just a little more than the tip! :)
Don't get me wrong, I'll take it but....

No, exactly the tip -20%!!We've used our AP's for two trips this past year. We saved a few hundred dollars as we would have eaten the same places and tipped the same amounts. We don't buy much merchandise, but we saved on what we did buy.

We have one more trip planned, so we feel we are getting our money's worth of our AP's. Sure, we have the Memory Maker, but we would not have purchased it - not worth it to us. Everyone's worth with AP's is different, but we plan 3 long trips or we don't get one.

Okay, I could have sworn the first time I read yesterday about the changes I read that all table service dining locations and dining shows would be included but now I can't find the article I read. I think that is Hoop were included I may pass on TiW next week for our visit and just roll with the 10% all week.

If I'm looking to buy an AP, I would base that calculation on whether I would use it enough for park entrance to make it worthwhile. The perks can be taken away at any time.

I saw it on Kenny the Pirate's site yesterday.

So when does an AP break even? When should i consider buying one?

I almost broke even on one staying offsite and getting free parking for 10 days straight.

I read this article too, and then after scouring the Disney website decided that maybe what they meant was all the places that used to be 20% are back in the 10% pile. I was really hoping that all TS would be 10% .. here's hoping they're slow on the draw.

Yeah...10% off at Hoop on my next trip would just about pay 1/3 of the cost of TiW

We've got 6 adults and two kids going to Hoop and I think it was like $480.

That must be where I read it...the dinner shows still arent listed on Disneys website though. (at least I can't find Hoop)
I've had TiW for many years but did not get it for our recent trip in August. AP discounts outweighed the TiW.

This is still a better list than it was a couple years back. Many TS places were not on the list at all, and of those that were, many were very restricted, like lunch hours on weekdays.
Now it looks like only a few are not on the list, and all but a few are all day long and seven days a week. (C'mon San Angel Corporation, only one of your three places?!)

I wish there was an "AP Discount" logo/icon at the entrance or windows of locations that offered a discount, especially at Disney Springs. It would definitely help entice AP holders to give more of their business, especially those who aren't actively checking the mobile site or committing the list to memory.

I'm okay with this list, although looks like one of my favorite QSRs, Flame Tree Barbecue didn't make the cut for 2018.

It would be nice if WDW offered an AP discount at most QSRs, like at Disneyland. But I guess they've done the calculations and more people are stuck on property at WDW without food alternatives.

Kind of off-topic but since the merchandise discount has been discussed...

Running the numbers, between Photopass, discounts (which I know are subject to change), being able to get TIW, and the ~$130 renewal discount for the following year that may include 2 trips for me but only 1 for my wife; it makes financial sense for me to get an AP rather than 10-day tickets for our upcoming October 2018 trip but not my wife. The only issue I can foresee with me having an AP and her having regular tickets is the merchandise discounts. Would I have to pay for all of her purchases with my own credit card in order for her to get the merch discount, or would I be able to show my AP then have her pay with her own credit card?
