Annual Fees

They are billed in December, due on the 15th of January, and are considered late if paid after February 14th. If you have an account at a US Financial Institution, you can set them up for monthly debit. If you select the monthly option, you can elect to have them withdrawn on either the 1st or 15th of the month. If you select the 1st, the January withdrawal will always be on the 15th.

The monthly option is interest free, so why not use that?

You cannot pay by credit card if you want to be billed monthly (I use a credit card to get the reward points).

As already mentioned, people without a domestic checking account cannot use the monthly option.

Some people prefer not to give companies access to their checking accounts (for security purposes or perhaps a past bad experience).

I think you can pay monthly by credit card, and you don't have to give them your banking number. When you set up your payments, you tell them you want to pay your fees monthly. That's what I did anyway.

We've never been able to pay monthly with a credit card.

I was told by a guide you could not use a credit card if you did the payments monthly. It's the credit card fees that WDW would have to pay. But if you pay them all at once he told me you could use a credit card.

The best way to pay is Disney Gift Cards. Every December target offers coupons for a spend $50 and get a $10 gift card. You but Disney gift cards for $50 each then used the target gift cards to purchase more gift cards. Then you call member services and pay your annual fees with the gift cards. That's a 20% discount on your annual fees. If you have a Disney Visa card ... You use that and earn disney reward points for an additional savings

You are correct it is interest fee but as said will be drawn form your bank account. The flip side is if you have funds to pay on January 15 you can use a credit card which most that will do this have 1% cash back or rewards. Sadly1% is far more than you will get if you keep your money in most banks with the exception of 2 plus year CD's with an online bank.

We pay with a credit card for the rewards pts also. We use those points towards our flight to Disney. I would rather just get it out of the way instead of seeing it as a monthly bill. To each there own...

And it makes sense to me that they do it that way. Our dues cover the cost to operate the resort for the calendar year. If you pay in full in January you are paying in full in advance so they are willing to cover the credit card fees. If you pay monthly, you are paying as you go so Disney wants each of those payments in full when due.

Paying annually on the Disney Premier Visa seems like the best option. 2% rewards back.

You get even more savings if you stack the 5% Pharmacy Rewards with the 5% RedCard discount:)

I pay myself $40 out of each paycheck into an online bank account. Then, I use that money to buy the gift cards from Target. Any leftovers go towards the remainder of our add-on loan.

We pay with our debit MC which gives pts - after this years dues are paid we'll have enough pts for RT flight :) With how expensive it's getting to fly that's actually becoming a significant reward.
