ANNUAL DUE COMPArISON at DIFFERENT DVC RESORTS

The annual dues at OKW,are $3.50 per point, at BOARDWALK VILLAS, $4.10 per point.
How important is this, over the course of your contract.

If you take .60 per point x 38 years, that adds $22.80 per point, to your contract.

i.e. $84 per point, for OKW
$107 per point for Boardwalk.

What can others add to this thought??

The difference in the dues is not set in stone. It's possible that your difference over 38 years could be more or less than what you predict.

A price difference is what people are willing to pay for their choice of resort. Currently, a BWV owner will have an edge in booking a Boardwalk view. Maybe that is worth the differential?

I don't see dues as part of the initial cost. I see them more like the gas that runs the car. This would be like figuring the cost of high-test vs. medium grade gas in deciding which car to buy if they are roughly the same price but have different engine requirements.

I just went back and looked at the dues difference for the last four years. 2000 +$.86; 2001 +$.70; 2002 +$.70 2003 +$.61

Maybe the dues are going to converge at some point?

Rounding to the nearest penny, here are the dues for 2000/2001/2002/2003 by each resort.

OKW - $3.16/$3.13/$3.22/$3.39
BWV - $4.02/$3.83/$3.92/$4.10
HHI - $3.26/$3.32/$3.49/3.69
VB - $4.08/$3.98/$4.17/$4.37
WVL - NA/$3.63/$3.80/$4.05
BCV -- opened at $3.77/$3.97
