We are going on a 7 night cruise for our tenth anniversary. Does anyone have any fun ideas for something special to mark the occasion? Can you have flowers, etc. delivered to the cabin? Help!

Im hoping to make Palos brunch ressies for Key West morning. Our anniv is 3wks before getting onboard ship. Thought this was a nice way to start off the week.
(and now that DH ordered pants they'll let him in!)

We will be celebrating our 20th when we sail in October. Another couple sailing with us is celebrating getting married 4 days earlier. I bought a congrats sign for their door and a happy anniversary sign for our door. DH doesn't know I did this and neither does the other couple. I hope to get the rooms a few minutes early and put on the signs.
We also have a limo reserved for the ride over to the ship.
Would like to do Palos but we won't get to the ship until 1:30 or 2:00 so I am assuming they would be full.

Don't know your budget.. but this is what DH did for me on our tenth anniversary. We had booked the cruise, that WAS suppossed to be our anniversary gift to each other. But on the first night we went out on our veranda after dinner. It was beautiful, dark with the moon reflecting off the ocean, right out of a movie., Jay got down on his knee and asked if I would marry him again, gave me a nice little "speach" about how I have made his life so much better than he could imagine (It was so touching) and pulled a diamond anniversary band out of his pocket. I almost fell over it was so special.

WOW Ann
That is great. Almost made me cry. I did get a anniversary band on our tenth and I was surprised. Getting one on a ship with the ocean in the back ground is a whole different story.

Just wondering:
What have any of you ladies done for your DH for an anniversary present. I would really like to do something special for my DH.
Our trip is suppose to be our gifts to each other BUT still I would like to do something else

Our DD & DSIL celerated their Annv on our cruise. Our DSIL had gone shopping on one of the islands and at dinner arranged for the Head Waiter to bring a cover dish. She thought it was a cake, but it was a beautiful diamond and sapphire bracelet. Then the waiters brought the cake and sang. It was a nice surprise!!

Ann ~ that was very sweet of your DH. :)

My husband and I will be celebrating our 5th anniversary aboard the Wonder on April 24, 2004. Besides Palo's on that night, I also would like some suggestions on how to celebrate without spending alot of $$$$$$. I thought maybe enjoying the Suriel bath would be nice. Any other suggestions???

P.S. We will have two children with us!!

Our trip was suppossed to be our gifts too, so I was really surprised... my only gift for him was a great deal of appreciation that evening while ds was in the kids club.... ;)

Next time I think I would try to come up with something special for him too, Jay is a really down to earth guy, football is his only real "passion" I did surprise him with gift certificates to Dan Marino's restaurant for the night before we go this December, he was thrilled with that. What does your DH have a passion about? I would focus on that and try to do something unique that way.

Love the covered dish idea!! There are quite a few "good guys" left in the world! What a neat surprise!

It wasn't for an anniversary or anything special, but DH did surprise me on our May cruise. He ordered the crystal block with the ship lasered in it for me. It was delievered before sailaway and now is a daily reminder of that great cruise!

We will be celebrating our 29th anniversary on our May cruise. We always celebrate the odd years more then the even years because everything special and good has happened on odd years for us. We are also celebrating my husband's retirement as Captain of Rescue on the Newark Fire Dept. He is one of the most decorated firefighters in the city and he knows it's time to retire, but is doing so with a heavy heart! He is also one of the brave that volunteered in search and rescue in NYC for 9/11 against orders from his superiors. (they were told that they wouldn't be covered medically for anything that was caused by volunteering for this search & rescue) His retirement will actually be 7 months after the cruise but we decided to go for anniversary instead of retirement in case he is feeling a little down because of retirement! I REALLY need to do something special for him as he has given so much of himself to me, our daughters and his commitment to helping others. Any suggestions? Thanks Lynn

I was going to suggest that if you are willing to spend a little in excess of $300 and are at WDW before your cruise, they do those gorgeous Disney artwork watches on Main Street. I had one done for my husband a few years back with Mickey as a firefighter and also had his name put on it. He adores it so much that he's afraid to wear it. They also gave us the artwork to as part of the package!! I'm going to breakdown and get myself one with Tink one of these days! I am not sure if all characters are available because I spotted the Mickey and that's all I needed!

Bless his heart and thank you so very much. ^i^

Ah..I loved hearing all your romantic stories and it reminded me our 10 anniversary. We had an over night sitter arranged for our four children and a local hotel room booked...never happened, big ice storm, the power went out and on the third day of power outage-our anniversary my husband cleared the road of fallen trees, drove to town( 20 miles away) and bought a generator!! It was the best gift ever and every time we have to run it we remember our 10th anniversary!

DW and I celebrated our 25th with a 7 day cruise. After a stay at the grand Floridian. I had a stretch limo pick us up for the ride to the port. I had contacted Shirley at the Perfect Gift shop to make up a special basket....unknow to me my DW had the same idea . The results were 2 baskets in our stateroom.....lol...I'll bet Shirley had a big laugh over that one.
Use your imagination...there's alot you can come up with....good luck and have a great trip.

Hi there,

My husband and I will be Renewing our Vows on Board the Wonder in December to celebrate our 30th anniversary.

Can't wait!!

As many have indicated, our anniversary present was suppose to be the present. But luckily my dh never follows the rules! He had ordered the mickey necklace that is in the gift brochure. The pendant it detachable so I can wear it on a regular chain everyday. He also ordered a watch for my ds who wears his all the time.

Unfortunately, I was not prepared. I had purchased cards ahead of time and I knew that I wanted to get him something either on board or in Nassau, but I had no idea what. I ended up getting him a cruiseline polo and some other small items. They did put it in a nice package for me. He really likes the polo shirt, but I was hoping for something a little more meaningful.

Thanks for the responses! What is the brochure? Also, what is the Perfect Gift? I am looking for something for my DH who can be a bit challenging to buy for!;)

We just went on the 7 day cruise for our 10th anniversary a couple months ago.

When your travel docs arrive, in the booklet with the gift baskets you can order, there is also an anniversary room make up (Item 1172) you can get for $30. Nothing extravagent, but a few things hanging in the room and things that go on the tables. It was just the thing to brighten up the room and create the WOW when you open the door to the cabin the first time.

Stateroom Celebrations

And, if your anniversary day does fall during the cruise, you must have dinner at Palo that night. I had this all planned out - however, I was extremely concerned about having to race on board the ship and do battle to get reservations for the date I wanted. I called, explained the situation, and they took care of everything.

My DH tricked me on our cruise. I thought that I was ordering the "Birthday" package for our DD who's b-day was earlier in the month, but when we got to our stateroom, I was very shocked and suprised to find that it said Happy Anniversary instead. You can also order flowers but you have to leave them on the ship when you disembark so I'm not sure it is worth the cost.
