My husband will be celebrating our one year anniversary while in Disney (May 12th). And we want to go somewhere romantic for dinner. I would like to do something in disney, but am willing to go off disney if there is something nice off property.

Now the kind of food we would want would be like seafood, or steak or chicken. We aren't really into the pay $80 for a quarter size portion of pasta with some strange looking sauce on a fancy plate if you know what I mean. We want the food to taste good and to not have us walk away from an expensive meal still hungry, but saying, at least the food looked fancy lol. But we do want something where we can get dressed up. (maybe even have my husband in his suit jacket) We are mostly looking for a romantic atmosphere.

Any suggestions?
If you know the price range, that would be great!

My best meal, ever, was at Victoria and Albert's for our 10th anniversary (April 12 this year). My DH does not like anything froo-froo, and before dinner was saying how he was glad that we could do this once for me. Clearly hinting that this was IT for V&A's.

Mid way through dinner he was talking about doing the Chef's table next time. :rotfl:

Where V&A's certainly sounds and looks fancy schmancy, it is amazing food. The portion sizes are small-ish, but there are so many courses that I cannot imagine ever leaving hungry.

Next to V&A's I'd say Jiko or Narcoosee's. Jiko certainly has a more romantic atmosphere than Narcoosee's, but Narcoosee's had great seafood.

Jiko is roughly $37 for the Filet Mignon, and Narcoosee's is about $54 for the Whole Main Lobster.

Dh & I are celebrating our 19th at Jiko next month. (first time to eat here) We also have gone to California Grill (which is one of our favorites) couple other times for anniversaries You can dress up at either. We like getting fireworks seating for Cal. Grill. Flying Fish on the Boardwalk was also very good. They gave us a glass of champagne for a toast right after they seated us.

You can't beat the Grand Floridian for ambiance, so any of the locations there will automatically put you in the mood for romance. My vote would be for Citricos. It's an often overlooked location with a beautiful setting, excellent food, and it's dressy and romantic without being stuffy or overpriced. So for some  with your dinner, I'd say Citricos.

Thanks! I will check it out.

Sorry if I sounded silly explaining what kind of food we want... pretty much we want want to be able to dress up and get all pretty but just don't want to pay $50 for this.... kwim?

If you don't mind being the only ones dressed up, that's okay but please know that except for V&A and Bistro de Paris, every other place accepts people in shorts and you will see them dressed that way. DH and I dress but most diners do not.

Since you don't want foo-foo, you will not want to eat at either of those places (cost will be more than $50), I would recommend JIKO. The filet is killer, the appetizers are interesting and worth the trip just for those alone. And JIKO is "subdued". The interior is darker, more sophisticated than the Grand Floridian's Narcoosies or Citricos. And the meal portions are very substantial there.

Happy anniversary by the way.
