We will have grandma with us to babysit the kids next week at HH for one night. Anyone have a good spot for DH and I to celebrate our anniversary? Thanks.

Lisa

Never been to HH Lisa but congratulations on the anniversary Girl..:wave2:
July

A lot of choices including Santa Fe, Charlie's L'Etoile Verte, Old Fort Pub, Fitzgerald's, Sunset Grill, CQ.s and Cafe Europa are my first thoughts. CQ's is not my favorite but many people like it. There are a number of other great restaurants depending on your tastes and desires.

Chef Gordon's private meal at DVC is a great choice from what I've heard but I don't know personally.

Email Chef Gordon at ChefLCC@cs.com right away to see if he is still available for the date you want. This is without a doubt the best dinner you will be able to get at HH! It will cost $150 for the two of you, but will be worth every penny.

If, by chance, it doesn't work out with A Private Affair and Chef Gordon, a couple of our favorites that are nice for a "special" dinner are Alexander's (in Palmetto Dunes on the way to the Disney Beach House) or Garden Oak Grill (used to be Spartina Grill, on the way to Old Oyster Factory -- new owners/management, but still great!)

Have a wonderful anniversary and be sure to let us know where you had dinner and how it was! ;)

Thanks for the great ideas and well wishes. I tried Chef Gordon long ago and he was already booked for the nights we would be there. Trust me, that was my first choice. My husband LOVES seafood but I am deathly allergic to all shellfish. So, a good seafood place that has other options would be great. I'll check into the places mentioned. Thanks!

I'm not sure why I never see this restaurant mentioned but Stripes, An American Grill is by far one of the most fabulous restaurants I've eaten in. The chef/owner is a graduate of the the Culinary Institute and every meal I've ever had has been exceptional and the portions are generous enough for sharing (but so good that I've never wanted to) The menu changes seasonally but the last time my husband had lobster pot pie and I promise it was nothing short of incredible, filled with lobster meat and tasting nothing like any pot pie I've ever seen before. I had a steak that surely was one of the best I've ever had with herbed mashed pot. that were amazing. I can not say enough good things about this place. (I highly recommend their jumbo lump crab appetizer!!!) Plus their wine selection is incredible! It's received awards from the wine specator. It would be a perfect choice to celebrate a special occasion. It's a mixed grill so always plenty of choices even if you do not like seafood....

P.S. If it means anything Chef Gordon tipped us off to this one 2 years ago and it's a place we go on every trip ever since!!!!

For an anniversary dinner, I'd go to Old Fort Pub. Very romantic atmosphere, dim lighting, Christmas tree lights outside, and the food is very good.
