Two questions for our upcoming October trip:

1. We are going with the grandparents who are celebrating 44 years of marriage. Any suggestions for somewhere for dinner but taking into account we have the nearly 4 year old grandchild and two teenagers as part of the group?

2. I have been trying to get a Character Dining breakfast at Magic Kingdom for our group of 12 and Fantasmic dinner package for a couple months now. I finally called in and was told that yes what the website was telling me was correct and they are fully booked that whole week. Yikes! The lady suggested we call just before our trip as she said some people cancel then. Should I call every day leading up to our trip or just the day before taking into account the 24 hour cancellation policy?

Thanks!

I would try for one of the restaurants in Epcot for the anniversary dinner or maybe atone of the resorts, they have really good restaurants and are usually easier together a reservation at than in the parks. Same goes for the character breakfast, magic kingdom is the hardest place to book a character breakfast at, especially with such a large party. I would try one of the resorts with a character breakfast or one of the other parks. I hope you find something.

Definitely keep looking every day, people cancel for a variety of reasons.

There also may be cancellations right as the cancellation window closes so that people can cancel without being charged the fee.

You should also subscribe to the October cancellation thread - you may have success that way.

As pp said, character breakfasts can be hard to get, especially if your trip is next month. Try 1900 Park Faire at the GF or Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club, but they will be hard to get, too.

Thanks so much. I will continue to try for the Character meal in MK up to the day before. It is not a must have and since the kids are all boys we are really only interested in the Crystal Palace meal anyway. We are staying at French Quarter so will search the other hotels for a nice dinner. I am assuming transport between hotels is not impossible.
