Anna and Elsa Wait Times at Rope Drop

I've heard that CM's are telling the RD people they can't enter the line until their entire party is there. So you can't send someone ahead to hold the space for your family.

Well, that would certainly discourage sending someone sprinting through the crowd. :thumbsup2

I would imagine the people at the beginning of the line are probably the ones that had early reservations for CP, CRT or BBB.

That's what I would have thought too. I booked CP breakfast just in case. We'd be more than willing to eat and run, skipping the characters if it gave us any advantage but from what I've read, those people are not at any advantage due to the internal ropes at MK. They are held there until the folks that were at the front rope reach the ropes at the lands. So they have only a few steps head start. If that's wrong I'll keep our ressie just so I can avoid stressing over getting a FP+ for them. I've never had any luck getting hard to get ressies in the past so I don't think I'll have any for this either.

It's true that the only advantage you have will to be at the front of the Fantasyland rope, but that's probably better than not having any advantage at all.

I'd hit A&E FP first on your midnight journey. But if you don't get it right away, keep trying. I snagged one on our 60 day, but then my girls said they wanted to go more than once, so I kept checking back and did find them two other times. Personally I think they are releasing them in waves.

That's reassuring. I was losing hope that we could get a Fastpass. I didn't have tickets yet when the window opened up. Our trip starts June 2, and I've been checking several times a day. I'll keep trying!

OP here. I have a subscription to touring plans and with that they give you access to their LINES app. It gives you "posted' wait times and "expected" wait times for the attractions. My plan was to check out the app each day at opening and every 15 mins or so till the wait times get crazy. So far today at 9:04, A&E wait was 15mins. I'm interested to see what this uncovers.

One other thing I wanted to point out. Touring Plans is rating the crowd level today at a 4/10.

Next update on the times didn't happen until 9:15 which now has a 55min SB wait time posted. Wonder if the app only refreshes the times every 15 mins. Further investigation to come. Seems like a 15 min refresh wait is standard for the app.

The next update came at 9:30 with SB wait of 100 mins. Doubling every 15 mins may be the trend.

In summary for today,
- 9:00, 15 mins
- 9:15, 55 mins
- 9:30, 100 mins
- 9:45, 140 mins
- 10:00, 215 mins

Yep, keep trying! I made it a practice to log on and check everytime I was on the phone talking, since I couldn't do a lot of other things and truly talk to customers, lol...but I could log on and click my way to find Anna!

We leave on June 2, lol. Small world.

Do Anna and Elsa come out for EMH's? If so, are the lines any better? Hoping maybe from 10-midnight maybe their line won't be so bad.

During EMH at night, do Anna and Elsa come back out? I think that might be our best chance to meet them .

Sorry didn't think first one went through and not sure how to delete.

Just got back from a trip. Definitely recommend the fast pass or try later in the day strategy. We talked to a woman who got to rope drop 2 hours before opening, Was one of first 10 people there. Even still because of the Main Street dash she ended up waiting 2 hours in line. It's a bit of a free for all until you get to the hub where they orderly form a line and slowly walk you in through the castle and around the carrousel to the line. We lucked out and had FP+ and only had a 10 min wait.

With that being said I DO recommend at rope drop heading straight for the Cinderella and rapunzelle line. No one was in this line and we walked right in after slowly walking from the rope drop in.

Ok, really? 15 minutes at 9:04. Was that actual or posted? The reason I ask is that TP doesn't list A&E in their order of priority for FP+ when creating a plan. So I am working on a TP without FP+ for them to see what it suggests. Basically it says arrive at A&E by 9:05 on a Monday in early Aug (park crowd level 7) and expect to have only 20 min wait. I just can't believe they have enough data for that to be correct if we are going by everything that people are relaying anecdotally here.

ETA: When I add a FP+ for A&E at 10am - 11am, TP says I will wait for 35 minutes if we enter the line at 10:48am

I think we may try Cindy and Rapunzel at RD as our consolation if we don't come up with a FP+ for A&E. Thanks for the reminder.

Those wait times don't match up to what Disney was posting last Tuesday. I had early ADR at CP last Tuesday. Was at the Fantasyland rope before the park opened. We headed to Peter Pan and were the 2nd party on. From PP we went to Pooh. A&E were posted at 240 minutes when we walked by at about 9:05-maybe 9:10 because it took a few minutes to get through the crowds that were still trying to get in line.

I was there for rope drop on early EMH on 4/30 and the crowds were even crazier. The standby line was wrapped up around the Carosel when I got to Fantasyland-I was at that rear of the rope drop crowd.

I did see A&E with a FP+ on Saturday. We only waited about 10 minutes to see them.

I was in Disney from 4/25 to 5/5 and got to witness the madness of Anna and Elsa at rope drop on the day I had pre-park reservations for breakfast in the castle  The CM's walked the crowd to the rope by Sir Mickey's and the carrousel, stopped everyone there and then formed a "human rope" by joining hands  When the park officially opened, the CM human rope walked very slowly around the carrousel by Mickey's PhilharMagic followed by the crowd and over to the entrance of Anna and Elsa before they let the huge crowd funnel down into the line :rolleyes1 When I went by Princess Hall around 9:25 or so the time was listed as 300 minutes :scared1: Thanks goodness for FastPass+ :woohoo:

I was at the MK today, and around 10-11am wait times were 'only' 110 mins.

I can assure that I did not make up those numbers up. Straight from Touring Plan's "Lines" app. I am sure there are huge variations from day to day. Long and short of it, I WILL be trying for a A&E FP at midnight on the 60th day out. I also think that Disney should be coming up with a game plan to try and keep things orderly and safe. With the sounds of this chaos, it's only a matter of time before an accident/fight/trampelling or some other incident occurs. Everyone keep safe out there and pack the patience.

Oh I was not questioning you. It's the Lines predictions that I'm skeptical of. If someone is experiencing and reporting actual waits in that range, great. But when my TP predicts that in August I will wait 15 minutes standby at 9:05 vs 35 minutes with a reserved FP+ at 10:50 I begin to wonder how much data they have really gathered to come to those conclusions.
