Anna and Elsa opening at 9am starting next week?

Does anyone know how many people are allowed in each "session", meaning if you make the 9am greet, how many people is that? Isn't it just a continuous line or do they stop for a period of time before the next "session" starts? Thanks

I heard they are running continuous with like 5 minute "breaks" they prolly hired another set of actresses .

While waiting in line we were actually told by the cast member running the line that Anna and Elsa welcome approx. 75-80 guests per session. That was how they were counting it off for letting people know what session they would most likely be in.

It's here too. Starting Sunday...

You know what he says people are doing? Booking an 8 Am breakfast at Akershus. And then one party member skips the breakfast, goes right over and gets in the Anna/Elsa line. The rest eat breakfast really fast and get over there.

Are they just incredibly popular or does this always happen with new characters?

This is such great news! My little girl will be so happy! We will hopefully meet them this Sunday morning!!!! Going to head over right at rope drop!!!:goodvibes:goodvibes

Rope drop may still mean an hour wait if you run up against the Akershushies or it's an extra magic morning.

I heard that there is no end date for them right now. I also heard that they are both getting inducted into the official princess line up sometime this year. So I have a feeling they will be around for a while. And they are testing the new hours but I bet once they see how well the new hours are working they will permanently make the change. Fingers crossed!

How awesome would it be to have Cinderella Castle lit up like it is at Christmas for Elsa's coronation? I mean, it only makes sense for it to be covered in ice, right? That's my hope, anyway. :hyper:

Last week, my mother met a family at Disney who made Akershus reservations for before the park opened. Then, they ate the cost of the meal and just got in line to meet Elsa and Anna. The line was absolutely nuts last week. People we in line for so much of the day.

This could be done too, although if the entire party does not appear at the restaurant, they will be billed $10 per person (not the full meal cost). I'm sure there are some who would think that a worthwhile cost.

while that's a great idea - it won't happen. The crane has been up and busy taking down the lights for close to a month now.

I changed my dining around when I heard they were starting at 9am I made the akershus ADR for 8 am the day we are in Epcot. So my plan is to get to Epcot at like 7:30 that morning to get over to akershus as soon as possible eat really really fast and then go over to the meet and greet. I figure we don't need to see all the princesses bc we also have an ADR to CRT and the same princesses are there as well.

So if we make reservation at 8a.m. for 4 people, but only 3 people shows up, they'll charge $10 for the one person who didn't show up? I thought as long as some people show up for the reservation, they won't charge the fee, but I guess I'm wrong then.

Key thing is to PAY EARLY - I mean ask for the check the first time you see your waitress (when she's taking the drink order) and pay immediately. Then you are done and can leave as soon as you're finished eating. Also you miss the rush of people who are paying at the end of the meal. Huge advantage.

I would keep an eye on the time and not kill yourself getting out there until just before 9 am (remember sometimes Epcot opens early - like 8:45 but it is quite a trek back there)

You won't be charged a no show fee at all. The $10/person charge is only assessed when it is a complete no show by the whole party.

So, 3 of you can eat and the 4th person can stand in line.

Thanks! We are on the dining plan so I will ask to pay when she gets our drink order. All my son keeps talking about is Elsa so that is a high priority to us! LoL

we have breakfast at akershus at 8 on March. 1. I plan to get there early enough to have the belle photo taken and set up my husband and 4 kids at the table. I don't have to be the first in line for Elsa but if I can sneak in a danish (and put one in my pocket;)) and ask for a to-go cup of coffee, then i will be happy ;) i'll just plan to have my phone out the entire time in line to be able to keep tabs on hubby and the kids and see how they are doing. i will ask for check as soon as we sit too.

I just made an 8am Akershus in hopes that they keep it this way in March! :thumbsup2

It just makes much more sense to have them start at 9am, when people are making throw away dining reservations and lining up at 8am to wait for 3 hours. Common sense has prevailed.

Can someone please confirm that Ana and Elsa will still be there on 3/9? I thought I read earlier that they were leaving in early Feb...did this change?

Also, are they giving FP+ for them yet? I don't see them as an option, but wonder if I should keep checking.

ETA:

There are no Akershus ressies available on our morning, so if we arrive at rope drop, will we get to see them...or still have the chance of being turned away?

Sorry for all the questions...this is my daughters birthday trip and Anna and Elsa are must sees for her :)

~ Entertainment CMs were recently trained to be Anna and Elsa - a definite sign they will still be meeting and greeting.

~ with only one room being used for a continuous meet and greet, Fp+ will not be available. If there is a venue change, that would be the time to check to see if Fp+ is being offered.

~ if you enter at rope drop, you'll just get in line to meet them. Because they are there until 6 p.m., you won't be turned away. Plan on rope drop on a non-EMH morning.
