Ann Coulter

At last, a lucid thought. That's all we wanted! Enjoy :stir: wherever you end up. I hope you find folks to play with.

As long as I don't play with myself, like most libs.

HA HA

Yep, I'm gonna drag this thread up.

My issue with Ann Coulter is not that she is ultra-conservative. I can respect people like Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, FOX News talking heads (barring O'Reilly). because, despite the fact that i disagree with their political beliefs, they aren't malicious, and they are very intelligent, and make me think about issues.

People like Ann Coulter and O'Reilly, is that they are malicious, and they mislead people. O'Reilly loves to bully people on his show, and when caught lying (multiple times) he doesn't aknowledge the fact that he did so, and, in some cases, continues with the lie. Ann Coulter has a good point, the media doesn't like to attack victims for fear of backlash. The tactic of using victims to gain votes or support is not exclusive to Democrats. It is an effective political tactic used whenever possible by whoever possible when it helps them. It is the way that she goes about making this point that disturbs me. She could have stated the situation with the 9/11 widows, and noted that they are working for the democrats, so to say. Instead, she attacks them personally and politically. It doesn't make her point any stronger, but it probably will catapult her book sales (which it did). Also, in her books, she uses misleading quotes, and hiding her deception in pages of endnotes that only people bent on exposing her mistruths will go through and read.

She is an extremist. Her comments imply that she is a racist, prejudiced of other religions, and finds most of America to be stupid (because we think Bush is an idiot). If this is who the GOP wants to have as a representative, more votes for the Democrats in the mid term election coming up, and the 2008 presidential election.

What's this I'm hearing on MSNBC - something about some of the passages in her latest book being plagarized?

Ann certainly goes over the top at times (and used to hang around with that Bill Maher guy way too much).

I agree with a lot of what she says (but certainly not all).

I can certainly think of a lot of people in the political commentary area who are lot more "vile" or "malicious" than her --

Ward Churchill, Molly Ivins, Erik Dyson, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Michael Moore, Ted Rall, Randy Rhodes, Al Franken, Bill Moyers, Norman Chomsky, Garrison Keillor, and even Cindy Sheehan (with her brand new Hugo Chavez fan club) --to name just a few.

Not even one conservative? See, I would have added a few of those names above to the conservative list I would have formed. That's the difference between us. Gotta love your predictability Joe. You never disappoint.

Thought the same exact thing. I at least have said in the past, how over the top, I find Michael Moore. A bit one sided Joe.

Ok, here's one -- Pat Robertson

Oh, and to anyone who thinks she is attractive, slap yourself, hard. Her voice is worse than Rita Cosby's.There is a reason she is single, and will always be so.

Kind of a given, as I can't recall even one conservative on this board that actually supports him, but I suppose that's the best I can get.

Actually, I think she is (was?) a man. Look at her body, and I swear I saw an Adam's apple. She (?) looks like a dude in drag.

And THAT is probably why he/she is single!

Please add Andrew Greely to my more (than Ann) "vile" and "malicious" list of political commentators. :sad2:

He finally went over the deep end in the Chicago Sun Times today.

:confused3 Well I know I'm going out and buying an anti-Joe bumper sticker as we speak. Why, such vile, disgusting, hurtful....oh....but true, intelligent, and poignant things that were written..

Huh? And what Ann Coulter says isn't true?

Ok, let me qualify that with mostly.

Speaking of vile....

Mark Levin
Michael Savage

Levin is an especially odd man who can't help but call people "dope" on his radio show if they question anything he holds as "facts".

Savage is so wacky, I think he doesn't even like President Bush because he is not "conservative" enough.

What is it about the conservative radio talk show people who can only allow "liberals" on their shows when the person isn't exactly the brightest bulb on the tree?
Is it so they can let their minions see how dumb "liberals" are?
Sean Hannity is very good at that. While I wouldn't put Hannity up with those other two, I would have to say that he sure is full of himself. A narcissist I think.

I guess it's entertainment.

Get off the phone ya big dope!

Savage is a kook but I like Levin. He's a smart man. And yes, he's a little abrasive to the "dopes".

Oh and like liberal talk radio hosts don't do the exact same thing? I'm not saying they all do it (both sides) but to lay claim that right-wing talking heads do it is being dishonest and misleading.

You nailed it, it's mostly entertainment with some shreds of truth mixed in.

I'm sure in her mind they're true. I'm sure there's people out there who think what she says is 100% true, just like some people find what the nutty left wingers say 100% true.

I do find some truth in that article, all of it? No. But I don't find it vile or malicious in the least bit like Joe does.

It's all for publicity, ratings, money, and entertainment.
