Animal Kingdom - Which trail?

We want to divide our time between rides and looking at the animals but I'm not sure if we'll have time to see it all. If you had to choose between the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail and the Maharaja Jungle Trek, which would you choose and why?

Thanks!

I like the Gorillas the best so I would chose Pangani Forest Trail. Gorillas are more fascinating to me than the tigers - maybe because I can watch cats sleep at home. LOL
Although I do like the bats on the Maharaja Jungle Trek too. It's why I always do both. :)

Thanks! I do hope to be able to do both. I just want to plan ahead in case we end up not having time. :)

I love them both but if I had to choose one I'd pick Maharajah because of the tigers.

I would recommend Maharajah, because you can see the gorillas as you exit the Kilimanjaro Safari ride. So, it won't take too much time to see the gorillas and then you can see all of the Maharajah trail.

How long does it take to do each trail? Is one longer then the other?

If I had to choose one, I would choose the Maharaja Jungle Trek. Our local zoo has gorillas, but not tigers. And my kids love seeing the bats.

You might want to also take the weather into account. Generally the tigers are more active if it's raining. I don't know about the gorillas.

That's a good point. Our local zoo has a North American and African exhibit so Asian might be the way to go.

I love the theming off the maharajah jungle trek. On my two trips seeing both trails, the gorillas were more active (so the animal part was more fun) but the maharajah one was more peaceful (at the time I walked it), the Tiger was beautiful and as I said, I loved the detail and theming of that trail.

They are both worthwhile. For us, it's a matter of logistics. Accessing Pangani is easy, accessing Maharaja is a bigger challenge. Maybe it's because we always do the safari, but not Kali. One option is to see the trail that fits your timing. If it feels like a toss up logistics-wise, then see the tigers (assuming you'll return to AK).

SUPER IMPORTANT TO NOTE- BOTH trails close during thunderstorms!!! We are very much in Florida- thunderstorm potential season. ALL the animal exhibits, plus EE close during thunder. At AK, that = about half the park. At AK, there's always a chance you'll need to modify plans based on weather.

If this is a once in lifetime kind of trip, then I suggest trying to squeeze in both. How long it takes to complete a trail is highly variable. Sometimes we meander and take our time watching the animals, other times, if we've only got a short time before a FP window- then we can complete a trail in a few minutes.
