Animal Kingdom today?

I've been checking MDE app wait times today, since I'll be there next Wednesday. Showing both Pandora rides down all day, can anyone confirm? Anyone know what's up?

Yes I was there today and they both are down and talking to a CM they might be down tomorrow too. Something about a fire alarm going off and closing the fire door they have seamon ( SP?) out trying to fix it something similar happens right after the ride opens and it was down for 2 days before they got it fixed.

Both rides are in the same building and sometimes FoP will overheat to set off fire alarms. This causes a full shut down.

Not sure this is the case this time as the rides never opened was down at rope drop the CM turned on the rides this AM and the alarm went off shot two fire doors tried to reset it and one door shot

I know they didn’t open. It could have been in pre opening checks.

This seems to be an issue that will need to be fixed soon as it’s not the first time both have been down for an extended period.

That’s a major downside for both rides being in the same building.

The same thing happened to us last Wednesday....both Pandora rides were down for hours because of a fire alarm. We had a 4:55-5:55 FP for FoP, so we were pretty bummed. The window passed so we got the magic fastpass (that's what we called it, not the official name) that you get when a ride is down during your FP window (oh, and btw, so many rides were down last week we had that happen FIVE times at 3 different parks....ridiculous). Anyway, that was our 3rd FP+ for the day, so when our FoP window passed we were able to book a 4th. Lo and behold...someone had canceled a FoP FP for two, so we snatched it up and crossed our fingers that it would open before the park closed. IT DID, around 8:00. Two consecutive rides on FoP! SCORE! Would have been really bummed to have missed it altogether as it was our only AK day, but it worked out to our advantage and we got really lucky!! So keep checking MDE!

Oh no! I noticed earlier today that they were both closed but didn't realize it was ALL day! We'll be in AK on Sunday and Tuesday, and I would be really bummed to miss out on either ride.

We're on the bus leaving Animal Kingdom now. Unfortunately, this is the last day of our trip and our only day at AK. We had a fast pass for FOP at 1:15, and received an email right before telling us that both rides were down. The email said we could get a fast pass for the ride today or tomorrow, if it was working, but since we have an early flight home tomorrow, it does us no good. Guest relations was mobbed when we left, and i would have stopped to complain if it wasn't for our 6:15 magical express tomorrow morning.

Yes it is most unfortunate. We had a FP for today too, and head home tomorrow

And even worse thing about it is complaining to guest relations really won't do anything. They can't fix it or get the time back or give more time. It's an awful situation for them and the guest.

ETA I was trying DH there is one thing they could do in some cases, upgrade guests to a hopper pass or extend their ticket. Those staying off site would have to stay and talk to them in the park. I wonder how late everyone was there last night?

Odd since they were both out.

As to when you got it, I got my FP notice yesterday 2 hours before my FP time so they do know we'll in advance on this one

ETA I just realized you said TO change. As in to replace it with something else? Which would then explain why all the FP for AK are gone. Wonder why they are sending that instead of an any time?

Something else odd. I just went to see what FP there are at AK for today and there is not a single one in the entire park for the entire day. At 8:00 not even Bug is available. Makes me wonder if they've taken them all off or something

I'm kidding (mostly), but how rough would it be if a fundamental design flaw ends up being traced to the down-time issues ... ie something that isn't a quick fix and would require an extended (weeks/months) closure to rectify

As the above story mentions, they've had these problems since it opened and yes, they do know it's a design flaw of some level and it would take an extended closure to fully fix

As someone who's industry is sorta related with alarms and electric access control systems I'm guessing they have over taxed the capacity in some way
