Hi All,

In May we will be headed down again and my wife and I want to have a late dinner at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, while grandma watches the kids. What are my options for getting from Port Orleans Riverside to Animal Kingdom Lodge and back? What kind of travel time should I give myself? We are totally dependent on Disneys transportation while there. Thanks all

I see two options. 1) Take Disney transport to DTD or a park, transfer there and go to AKL. If you dinner is after park closing, you will have to use DTD. DTD isn't always the best place to transfer in the evenings. I have done it, but it isn't fun. 2) Take a cab. This will cost you some money, but will also get you there the fastest.

Time is precious without those kids.
I would take a Taxi. Atleast take one to dinner.
We took one on our date night last time and were sooo glad we did.
It was a change of pace from the buses and made it feel like a date.
Like having A private car.
You can always take a bus back to DTD after dinner.

I'd rather spend the money on the meal, not the transportation so would advise a bus to AK park and then just a few minutes ride over to AKL.

That would depend on what time their dinner is scheduled..
If the park closes at 5pm there may not be anymore buses running when they need them.
We like taking a cab once in awhile. It usually cost about $10 one way. It will be so much quicker!
