Has anyone done the extra tours and things that they offer in Animal Kingdom Lodge. I seem to remember reading about a tour concerning food in Boma that looks quite interesting

We have done the Sunrise Safari while my aunt has also done the culinary tour you're remembering. I called her for details as I didn't attend and she stated that upon checking in at Boma around 4pm the tour group spent the next "30 or so" minutes touring both Boma and Jiko. They were given samples (bread and a zebra dome is what she remembers) while tour guides took them through the dining rooms and explained the African influences, etc. "It was free" was how she ended the conversation! :rotfl: And FWIW, she also gave the tour two thumbs up.

I really like the look of the safari, I've always wanted to get out on the savannah lol! The culinary tour sounds lovely, plus it's in my two favourite restaurants!

The Sunrise Safari is only open to AKL/AKV Concierge Level guests. It takes place at the Animal Kingdom park prior to opening and includes a buffet breakfast.

The Wanyama Safari is open to all AKL/AKV guests and is a truck tour of the Animal Kingdom Lodge savannas. It includes dinner at Jiko afterwards.

It'll be the Wanyama safari for us - we're just staying in a standard room.

I took the culinary tour several years ago, and really enjoyed it. The chefs in Jikp and Boma take time with you, and will answer any questions. It was fun!
