Animal Kingdom Hotel Recommendations

We are going to Disney in October for a quick weekend (Oct 21-23) and would love to stay by Animal Kingdom..... but not pay $350 for a night at the AK lodge. Any ideas?

Coronado Springs Resort... newest moderate and I really like it.

or book a Value resort and see if you get one of those "upgrade" PIN offers via email for AKL. If not, change your resort before check-in.

You could look into renting points. It may not be enough advance notice, but may be worth looking into and a great option to consider. I am getting a value studio in Nov for $90 a night!
