Animal Kingdom ain't so good.

Two of us think AK is the best park, one likes MK the best, one likes DHS best. We all agree all four parks are fun.

Some people like chocolate, some like vanilla, and some like both. That's what makes everybody different, but it doesn't make one more right than the other.

I admit although impressive theming we simply did not have enough TIME to spend in what seemed like a park to stroll around and soak in. We did not get to sit still and quiet as we truly marvelled at these amazing creatures - we were unable to see The Lion King and a few other educational, awe inspiring stop and smell those roses attractions and see what shares this earth, kinda way!
We do plan on returning and making this an all day, take your bloody time and let the children spend 20 minutes in front of the tigers if they want to or just relax and have a snack while we watch them and really, truly pay attention to them, the way they move, the dna we share....its NOT a Zoo, I can clearly see that, but I promise to give it 110% of a best shot and fully explore the park before I make a final decision!

Another thing about AK that too us is great, AK is all about the animals..Well that's where Mickey,Mini,Goofy,Poo,Chipmunks,Donald ect come from..The Wild its a perfect theme to Disney just like the castle for the Princesses..:goodvibes

Well,I got to run...Got a Rope Drop at AK in the am...:cool2:

What would it be like if each park was a full 1 to 2 day experience? You would be dead tired. You need a park that you can tour leisurely. For some it is AK, for some DHS and yes for some even EPCOT. For us our easy day is AK.

We are taking DS who will be 1 in November and are dedicating an entire day to AK, and the only rides we plan on doing are the Safari, the kiddie ride in Dinoland, the train, and switching off to ride EE, plus we'll plan to see Lion King. There is SO much to do in AK besides just riding rides.

I get really annoyed by all of the AK hate. Epcot is my least favorite park, but I don't take the time to make a post about why I don't like it. It seems like there is an "AK sucks" thread every other day! Just because it isn't your cup of tea doesn't mean it sucks.

:thumbsup2

Everyone likes different things. I must say though that I love AK. I love to just look around and enjoy all there is to take in. There is so much that can be missed by just looking for the "good " rides.

DH and I used to say that AK was a "1/2 day park at best." I never looked forward to our AK days.

For years we would go at 9am and be back at our resort by 11:30-12 noon at the latest.

But in January, we decided to stay the ENTIRE day. We wanted to do everything, not just Kilimanjaro and Everest.

So, we took our time, and did everything. Flights of Wonder, Conservation, Station, Pangani Forest Trail, Maharaja Jungle Trek, Nemo Show. We loved seeing the Bats (talked to the nicest CM about the giant bats and got tons of info) & Naked Mole Rats and I could have watched the Baby Gorilla for hours! We even got to see a surgical procedure. Amazing!

We went over to DinoLand, which we had never done before. We truly had a great time there.

We ate a delicious lunch in Tusker House. Going again in 3 weeks!

We just took it all in. We slowed down, took our time and now AK is a "full-day" fun park for us. We are still talking about how great our AK day was in January. We had such a fantastic time.

One of our BEST days was our AK day in January.

We are looking forward to AK again in May. :cool1:

I love Animal Kingdom- it is my second favorite park after MK. But then I love animals and zoos. I like that there is a small park we can do in one day. Loved the parade. Loved Festival of the Lion King. Loved Dinosaur...... and I love the characters in safari gear .

Disney has something for everyone I guess :yay:

IMO AK has the best parade at WDW. And we've had some great surprises there. Took the train to the Conservation Station (DS loved the train when he was little) and there was Jiminy Cricket inside. My dad who had gone in first came running out to tell us. He was about in tears getting a photo of his grandkids and him with Jiminy Cricket, one of his absolute favorites. My kids knew Jiminy because we lived in Italy where Pinocchio was written. It was an absolute highlight of our trip.

We love the Nemo show and Lion King show. Love the character trails- if you get there when they open there's rarely a line. Of course love the safari and EE. Love to get food at Flame Tree BBQ and go eat by the water. Once saw a whole boat full of characters on the water there.

Haven't taken the kids on Dinosaur yet, but they want to try it. They love the Boneyard. That area is not my favorite, but I wouldn't say it's horrible.

Well now I'm really looking forward to going to AK again!

We like AK. We didn't do it our last trip because we wanted extra time in Epcot...previous trips we felt like we never had enough time there! I am looking forward to our October trip. We will definitely be hitting AK. We love the Tuskerhouse character breakfast...and we have yet to see flights of wonder or the nemo show. We haven't ever done EE or Kali River Rapids, but we aren't big thrill ride people either. As someone else said, it is a nice change of pace! :)

I can't read through all the posts of another random thread started by someone who doesn't like AK.:sad2:

I love AK. We usually go there 3 times on a week long trip.

Our home resort with DVC is AKV. I've stayed there four times and LOVE it!

But I love animals. (I'm always suspicious of people who don't like animals - something is missing from their souls or something....)

I've been going to Disney regularly since the 80's and AK is by far one of the most awesome and innovative ideas the imagineers ever had.

I love EE, Dinosaur, the Safari, Kali, and the walk-thrus. I love watching the animal vet visits at Rafiki's - so educational! I've learned so much from the CM's who work with the animals at AK - I think so many people just run past them and don't even think about the education they're missing. (Learning can be fun people!)

I also grew up in the country and spent many childhood trips camping, so I have a real appreciation of nature and all its beauty. I guess not everyone else does. Whatev.

My family and I were chatting about this yesterday and we all agree....the animal kingdom kind of...well....sucks. In our minds there are 3 good attractions - safari, lion king show, nemo show. Other than that there ain't much to see and do. Plus the walkways are very narrow and the park doesn't have a nice natural "flow" to it like the others.

We go to disney every year and love it to death, but AK is our least favorite and never gets more than 1/2 day.

Qiute honestly, you got what you wanted.........everyone ranting and raving over a fake post designed to get reaction.....

AKK

We  Animal Kingdom. We spent almost 2 full days there and my daughter says next time we have to go more because we didn't have enough time there.

Dinosaour, Kali, EE, Safari were some of my kids fav. rides. They loved watching the gorillas, taking the train to the conservation station, loved the FOTLK, watching Devine. We found the park to be very relaxing and beautiful.

Have you seen Nemo? Flights of Wonder? What about exploring the Pangani forest or Maharajah trails?

Yes, but don't get me wrong, Nemo is a very high quality show. And the others are quality attractions as well, but they're not what we're interested in doing while we're there.

Hey, no dissing the kingdom!! ;) Not much to see!! Maybe you need to slow down, it's one of the most detailed oriented parks. Have you checked out the cue to Expedition Everest? How about the tree of Life? walk around the cue to a bugs life, how cool is that. or the themeing to Kali river rapids?

Listen, every park has some quirks that make it less than endearing. Personally I find some thing to love with all the parks.

How SAD...We LOVE LOVE LOVE AK!!! I guess it's all in what you make of it...
If we had only one day at WDW...this is where we would go...most definitely!

This made me chuckle a little. I'm sure you meant P-o-o-h but when I read "Poo" all I could think was.....

Yep I'm sure there's plenty of that at Animal Kingdom!:rotfl2:
