I have been sending letters to all of the friends in my town, in the letters I include my native fruit as a gift. They send me letters back with gifts, and sometimes the gifts are fruit (some are my native fruit and some are new fruit). I then plant those and grow trees! I have planted a tree for every fruit now, and am waiting to harvest them.

The fruit actually doesn't change - you'll need to get other fruit and plant it to have those trees. There are two ways to do that - either you can get the fruits from other towns over Wifi, or you will eventually get them as gifts from the animals in your town. (Or the coconut will wash up on shore at some point.) Your native fruit sells for 100 bells, but the other fruits will sell for more than that.

I was lurking on here and saw this, and wanted to warn you - you won't get more snow on the ground when it does snow next in your town. The snow actually replaced the grass pattern once it became winter, and when spring comes and the grass comes back it will only appear where you have snow.

The fact that the snow is getting sparse is because of a new feature the programmers added in this version of Animal Crossing. It's called "Animal Tracks". As your character walks around, it wears tracks in the snow/grass. The programmers said that it would take 2 weeks for a path to show up, but it takes much less time than that. Actually, if you watch closely as your character walks you can see the snow disappearing. It does come back, but very slowly. Planting lots of trees and flowers seems to encourage the regrowth but even then it takes a long time. There are many players whose towns look like deserts now.

Several people have started petitions and many people are emailing Nintendo to try to get them to release a patch to fix the issue since it seems impossible to keep grass/snow in a town if several people play in it.

I hate this new thing they added. It makes it so hard to make a snowman now. Our town does look like a desert and to make a snowman I have to run the snowballs along the sides of the mountains or any little corner that happens to still have snow but even now that is disappearing.

Thanks for the great infos! You guys are awesome! I guess I need to start sending some letters and fruits out to my neighbors. I'll wait for the coconut at the shore. I have been fishing and did pretty good. I just learned that past 10pm that Nook's store is closed. They are open from 8am-10pm. I was going to sell the fish I caught.

I can't wait to pay the mortgage fully so maybe I can get into a bigger house. I am wondering if I have to move out of my town.

DH tried this....his money grew into a tree but no money is on the tree, it's just a plain old tree....and it's been days already. How long does it take?

Also, somebody far back in the thread said something about digging up a non fruit bearing tree and burying something in order to get other fruits....can anybody give me some details on this?

For the money trees, its a hit or miss whether you actually get money on them. I have heard that the more money you bury in the hole the bigger the chance. Like if you plant 50,000 bells you will have a better chance of it producing money than say if you bury 100 bells.

Also, if you dig up a non-bearing fruit tree and plant a piece of fruit in that hole, you have a better chance of your tree growing.

I am assuming that more than one coconut will eventually wash up along the shore? My DH sold one early on in the game and we have yet to see another. What some people will do for 500 bells.

There is an ATM type machine in City Hall. One of the options is to pay your mortgage.

Okay, I just figured that one out too! I went to the Town Hall. As soon as you enter, there's an ATM machine there. I paid up my mortgage in full!! Yaaay!! K.. I'll go fishing now...

I read about this on another board. It's something that has been driving me crazy. It's especially hard for us because there are 4 of us playing, so it has seemed impossible to build up any grass/sno patches. I've planted so many trees that now my town's grade is a C- and Pelly says it's because I have too many trees in some areas. Now I have no idea how to figure out which areas need to be thinned out.

On the upside we finally got our Nookington's back (yeah!) They are supposed to be building our new bridge but it's taking forever. After that, we'll be pretty close to getting our fountain.

To be a brunette you can either say "Safe", which is light brown, or "Mysterious", which is dark brown. Sadly, you can only change your hair once a day so if you get a bad cut or color you are stuck with it till the next day.

Also welcome to the one with the bad haircut! LOL I felt your pain because I did the same thing, I was made with pink hair, I think I spent like 12,000 plus to get a decent cut. It took me forever to figure out what to say to not get some weird cut. I found this guide.

I have only played a little today! It's hard to keep up with this and regular life. I need to pop out a few more kids and get them into school to have time for this ... IRL!! My one 21 month old keeps me away from the game most of the day!

How do I get the store to grow? I try to buy everything in it everyday but I am running out of room. Can I sell it back without it going against getting a bigger store?

I basically spend the time I get on there fishing and running around shaking trees. I did go the other day and get my Mii head put on!! It's kind of funny looking!

I am working on getting my friend code but our wireless internet has been down so that's not working. Tonight DH is watching the football game so I can't get on.

Ahhh.. thanks for the hint! I went back home, then went to the city again and thought the lady would redo my hair.. NOT. I'm glad to learn that it can be restyled, I just have to wait until tomorrow. I will definitely will pick "safe" or "mysterious." Maybe I can put my hat away tomorrow after I go back to the city. For now.. I am sleeping with my hat on!

Thanks for stopping by tonight and bringing oranges! I chopped down a few trees and planted the oranges in their place, I hope we get them to grow this time. One question -- we planted several peach trees and apple trees that had fruit on them, but now that the fruit was picked, we don't seem to be getting any more fruit off those trees. Did we do something wrong?

I was so glad you got on tonight -- Katie really wanted her mommy. The first time I tried to take her home, your gate was closed. Poor little kitten was crying her eyes out!

My DH says they're saying we could get 8 inches of snow starting at 3am, so I might be able to spend the whole day fishing and finally pay off my second mortgage to Tom!
