Animal Crossing-City Folk

I have sent many letters and usually say," Have a great day". I have received lots of shirts and a pear, a peach and and apple. The apple tree died (I guess I planted it wrong) but the peach and pear are doing fine (because of help from this thread)! Thanks:thumbsup2

how do you guys pay off your mortage so fast? I just got the second upgrade and have NO idea how I am going to get ALL those bells!! We only have oranges no other fruit....someone plese help with ideas!

I got non-native fruits from writing letter to the animals, or friends that have the fruits in their town. I just kept planting and planting and before you know it, you have lots of fruit trees :) It does take time to sell them all to Nook, but it is fun :) I also sold a lot of fossils (already checed by Blathers) to Nook. Those can pay a lot of money. My letter to the animals are also simple. I usually just say something like "I am glad you are my friend" or "here is a gift for you". Then I attach my native fruit for their gift. If anyone wants to come to my town and collect fruit, PLEASE come :) PM me with your code if you don't have me on already. I have so much fruit, I don't know what to do with it all :lmao:

I finally got the whole snowman series!! I am pretty excited about it since I have hardly any snow left in the town. :rotfl2:

We are going away next week to Disney for 2 weeks and I hate to come back to see what our town will look like! I am trying to get DF to take it to Disney for our honeymoon but he is scared the Wii will get lost or broken. grr. How bad is it that I want to play AC on my honeymoon. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Sorry to ask.....can I please get some help on how to get a shovel? My DS needs one and I do as well. Nooks has not had them.

Thanks!!
:)

Nooks should eventually have them. Are you able to travel to other towns via WiFi? If not you could try time travel a day at a time and check if he gets them in.

I found a neat trick (actually my dd did) while on my quest for the perfect town. With chopping down trees and replanting them I've had holes everywhere. DD walked by one of the holes without the shovel in her hand. When she was at the hole she pressed the B button....I won't tell you anymore than that. You'll have to try it and see what happens.:lmao:

Ok off to do some RL shopping and laundry.:laundy:

Hey! I've been lurking, but definitely enjoying all your hints. I am totally addicted to this game! My friend from church is too, and we were late going into the service this week because we were standing outside sharing tips.:rotfl2:

She gave me a good one, though. When you send the letters to your neighbors, include your native fruit and just write, "Please send fruit." Our of the eight letters I sent, I got six fruits and two shirts. We have planted them all (okay, not the shirts.), but I'm definitely going to try cutting down an existing tree to plant a new tree if I get anything tonight. I hope that ax is still in NookNGo!

Has anyone gotten the bridges or fountain from donating to the town fund? Is there anyway to check how much we have given? We are all trying to give some everyday. Thanks!!

really? just write, "please send fruit." wow!! i have to try that. i would like to grow some different kinds of fruit. i am not hooked with the internet, so will they still send me something different other than our native fruit (orange)?

i have only given 100 bells to the community. so what happens? (i just wanted to make sure i understand correctly) they use those bells to add bridges or fountains?? if so.. then i would like to donate more money and i will let my family know to donate some too. i wonder how much bells do they need before they can add those things to your town.

thanks so much for sharing!! my bf is addicted to this game! he is working so hard to earn the bells so he can have another upgrade.. and he said he can't wait to see how the basement would look like when he gets to that point. so far he only had 1 upgrade. i have two already.

thanks..
telly

btw.. i burried 100 bells and am i suppose to water it for the money to grow? i have no idea how it works. thanks!! :)

Oh noooo how can you leave us hanging in suspense like this! :rotfl2:
So I take, whatever happens, doesn't happen at every hole?? OK, if I try it and nothing happens, please share so I will know! :lmao:

Yes, I have gotten the extra bridge, the fountain and the windmill. I don't believe the town keeps record of how much you have donated. I learned that when I started donating for the bridge. After that, I just kept the money in my savings that I needed for each next step, then donated the big chunks at one time.

Okay....I am sorry to ask this...but when you say neighbors...do you mean to people that live in your town or to people you meet in the city or to your friends that you get friend codes from?? I am sorry, I know I sound like a total dope. But the neighbors in my town have the same fruit so asking them for fruit....wouldnt I get the same?? Sorry. We are still learning.

Thanks!

Don't be sorry about asking questions here! I have learned so much from this thread! I still have tons of questions too! I haven't learned about the money tree... and I STILL haven't caught a darn bee! :upsidedow I just keep getting stung!

Yes, send the animal neighbors in your town letters and fruit gifts. You are right, it does stand to reason that they would only have your native fruit too, but they send all sorts of things. That is how I got all the different fruits. You may also get shirts, or furniture. It's fun! I love getting letters! :)

Please ask! I'm learning too. I just send to the animals in our town. I don't know where they get other fruits, but so far I've gotten apples, pears, coconuts and cherries. I hope I can get the trees to grow.:thumbsup2

Oh no! Does this mean all the bells we've donated so far are for nothing?!? I'll definitely put the money in savings from now on.

To make sure my new fruit trees grew, I would chop down a native fruit tree, dig up the stump and bury the new fruit in it's place. I had trouble with some of my new fruit trees growing, and I was so excited to get them, it was depressing when they died! Someone here told me to plant them in existing fruit tree locations to make sure they would grow and it worked!

Happy planting!! :thumbsup2

Thanks so much for the help!! I am sure I will be asking many questions as we are still trying to get the hang of the game. My DS and I are just having a great time fishing! :goodvibes I think as soon as we are able to get a shovel, we will be set. Of course he will get it and then I will be left waiting until Nooks gets another one.:hyper: I don't think we have come close to figuring out an ounce of the game. He paid off his house but then when Nook asked him if he wanted to enlarge his house, he said yes and then yesterday morning when he signed on saw it costs $120,000.00. Poor kid, he thought it was free! So we have to figure out how to make some bells besides fishing and shaking trees LOL. I was able to payoff mine yesterday and do not plan on adding on anytime soon!:rotfl:

Thanks for the tip!!

dvcfamily41801... When you start making fruit from other trees, it will get much easier to get bells. The fruit they give are worth 500 bells instead of the 100 bells your native fruit are worth.

Getting the shovel, and then the golden shovel will be VERY helpful!! Good luck on getting that pretty soon!

No problem! I am still learning too! That's why I am keeping up with this thread! :) I am having a great time playing this silly little game! :rotfl:

Isn't it fun? I have never been addicted to a video game. Well, okay there was that little Breakout obsession I had in the eighties, but it doesn't count. ;)

Until this one, the only game I was "addicted" to was Zelda. I still get excited when I hear a new Zelda is coming out! :upsidedow

This one is just very calm. I don't know, but I think that's what has me hooked! Whatever! It's fun!

Thank you!! I think the reason I am addicted to this game is because I can actually DO it!!! My DS and DH have their Lego Indy and Lego Star Wars they play but I can only sit and read the play guide to them. To many buttons and things for me!!

This is nice and easy and relaxing. And I have to say that I do love going to the City because the music reminds me of World Showcase.:goodvibes :goodvibes
