I love you all :teeth:

Sandi, I am sorry you were off on the day... just think, he *will* be home tomorrow

MerryPoppins - we are scheduled to settle on June 1st. Which is perfect because our lease is up on June 27th.

Sheesh, all this talk about laundry........... Makes me think I better get to the real thing, again. I noticed I have spilled/dripped coffee on both my bathrobes, and since I still have on my fleece pants and 2 sweaters, I guess I can go down to the ice cold cellar and put a load in.

My car has been diagnosed with a bad master switch in the steering colum. When the lady at the garage called me, she said she wanted to give me the estimate, She was really leery of telling me, she said they found the kill switch on the alarm had been activaterd, which is why it wouldn't start, and then for the lights they thought it was the switch which they could order to get today and then with the labor to install it and the diagnostic time, I would be looking at (and I thought 5 or 6 hundred at least) $189.00. I am flabergasted it is so inexpensive. I knew there was a problem in that switch, if I tried to flash my brights, I would lose all the lights, but I figured that since it is inside the steering column, it would be right expensive to fix. Now the only problem will be to get it back when it's done. Pete doesn't get home early enough, Stephanie, wanna come on down? HA HA, I am just kidding????? I will probably call the town taxi, the place is about a mile from the house, it should be OK for me to drive back.

Think I will go do the wash and watch a DVD. Retirement is nice.

SO I am doing the wash, and since the person who owns the house left the drain pipe from the washing machine the way it was when she bought the house, instead of getting the plumber in to fix it, I now have an enitre load of wash and rinse water on the floor of the cellar because the pipe goes outside and the water that was left from Monday FROZRE so todays water had no where to go except all over the floor. I called the owner and explained, she says the plumber is going to be here tomorrow after noon. The owner is a remodeling contractor, and after living in the house she redid for less than 3 weeks, I wouldn't let her even drive by my property. Sure the finished floor where you live looks nice, but the floors have no insulation under them, the basement is totally open to the outside when the garage door is open, so when the heat cuts off the house is very cold, the gutter over the back door is falling off, so water drips onto the concret stoop and freezes, right where you have to step when you go out the back door. Hmmmm, can you tell I am just a tad PO'd???????? And I popped the bottom button off my new coat, so now I have to sew it back on, sheesh!

But on a brighter note, the car is fixed, I am going to get myself ready and call a cab to take me over there.

Marsha - if it's not one thing it's another. Couldn't tell all that stuff was wrong w/ the house by the picture on the website could ya?!

Sandi - at least you didn't have to wait a couple of more weeks for your DS to return, tomorrow will be here before you know it!

Lou - are you sure you need a BIG red bow?! :o

Quiet day here on the thread...

lazy this afternoon. I am frustrated at work so I decided that I am going to do some Disneyland research. Oh yeah, did I tell y'all? I have some serious plans in the works to go to DL this summer with some friends. That's the bad thing about me, mention a Disney trip to me, ask me if I think I'd like to go and chances are, I will :teeth:

Anywho, Marsha I am so glad to hear about your car, but sorry about the house. Sounds like they did some half-well you know, work on the house. The owners prior to the ones before ours did the same kind of half-crap jobs. We are slowly fixing them :)

You know, it's like a fish story. Everytime I tell it, it gets a little bigger.

Thanks for bringing me back to reality....

Sure Gaspode  Will that be delicate or permanent press?

:p

SB, it wouldn't have ticked me off so badly, but we told her the day she came out with Mr Fix it that this would happen, they appeared unconcerned. Now I can't do any more wash till the plumber comes and put a proper drain line in. Right now it just drains onto the yard, which is really good for the ground water that is in my well, I'm sure. I think that I need a vacation. Or a new house. Hmmmm, since I am getting the new house, I best wait for the vacation so as to have enough money to pay for all the things I will need there.

The car is now bck in the under house parking area. If the roads stay clear, I will probably go get it registered and inspected. It it snows more, it will stay put.

Who's up for laundry later?

:earseek: Just what is that supposed to mean Mr Alabama?! I don't think I like what you are implying. I'm a very sweet and innocent young English rose as I'm sure I've told you before!:earseek:

;)

Yikes, the rose shows her thorns!

Madam, I would never stain your spotless reputation. I was merely wondering if you had a lot of housework to do since you were going offline for a bit!

Ah! Then I apologise my dear Alan :) I misinterpreted your meaning entirely as you did mine... when I said 'I leave you alone for a few hours...' I should have been more clear by saying, 'I leave you alone for a few hours and look what happens' as in I was not going but had actually come back (to see such shameful 'angel' behaviour ;)) LOL. Hope this makes more sense and, of course, that we are still friends

Cya,

All of this spicy talk has led me to make tacos and spanish rice for dinner! :hyper:

I'm innocent....just like Gaspode!!! ::yes::

Sorry I missed the fun today....no laundry here tonight.

Great big :grouphug: to Marsha. It will get better....and warmer (someday) and you'll have a brandy-new town house to welcome the warm weather.

(Hey Steph....you're good in planning housewarming parties!!!!)
