Melissa - I pray Amy's Godmother is feeling better soon.
Oh and you may come clean out my kitchen cabinets if you want too:p

Elaine - I use the plastic card thingy too:) I will use coupons if I have them in addition to the card. I even will go online and add specials that are available to the card if I think about it.

Carol - be safe during your road trip.:)

Update on today. Nick has a sinus infection (already knew that though), the lumps in his groin are inflamed lymph nodes so he was told not to rub or scratch them so they will heal. The Dr also froze off a thingy growing on his neck. (Actually it was a little funny. First the Dr froze the thing on his neck, then he looked at his groin. Nick looked at the Dr and said "Your NOT going to USE THAT on ME down there are you???" while pointing at the machine he used on his neck:earseek: ) He is now on Amoxicillin and mean as the devil himself right now. I HATE it when he gets sick. The meds always make him mean. As for the car...well it is a wheel or hub bearing.(They called it both so not real sure) The pontiac/olds dealership estimated $550 and another $72 to replace the driver mirror. So I called my old dealership mechanic. He said it would $400 for him to fix it and he was going to try to find a mirror for the car too.:) I love the mechanic there and really trust him so I'm taking it there next Monday. Sam told me the pontiac place overcharges as far as he is concerned. It is a 30-45 min drive to other dealership but they are worth it. Well I better get some laundry done. Rick gets SOO picky about wanting clean clothes to wear to work. :p

 all.

Carol: I think I would have offered to pay for them to get the glasses fixed there instead of a 4 hour round trip!
Congrats to Sarah!

Melissa: pixie dust and prayers for your friend

Carolyn, nothing worse than sick kids. But nothing like 3 doses of Amoxicillin to make them feel better! lol at your story

I hate grocery shopping too. DS loves our kid care area called the Eagles Nest (Giant Eagle is the store). he likes to go in there and play the computers. I hate our store because they did away with all of the baggers unless you use the self service registers! And I hate those things when you have a lot of produce to look up.

Have a good night all. :faint:

Gail if the bunnies chase away the snow, dig them out ;)

Marsha, I hope that your DH has a good trip out to CA!!! Good luck dealing with his packing woes.

Sandi, sounds like you got a heck of a lot of good stuff done today!!! Comfy shoes are so hard to come by!

Carolyn, I hope that Nick feels better soon! Soundsl ike you have a good mechanic there (the 2nd one you mentioned). Yay, another plastic card thingie user!!! I have to ask you, did you used to go to any of the Big Bears regularly before they closed? Our Kroger's in the area have been awful since they closed down :(

Donna fainted by the time she finished typing? Sleep well!

Hi Lou

I can't believe it is just after 9 and am this tired?

Actually it wasn't fainting, I was using it for nite nite!

Thought I was done on computer but DH is getting all worked up over the Pitt basketball game so I had to leave. I usually enjoy watching with him, but when it is another Big East team, he acts like it is life and death, lol.

So, I am back!

Didn't do a whole lot today. Went to impromptu breakfast with Sue. (Invited LK4 but she blew me off for excercising, lol). We actually ARE going to meet someday. Our kids play each other at basketball on Saturday so maybe then.

Went to a very boring girl scout leader meeting tonight.

That is about as exciting as it gets around here today!

What's everyone else doing tonight???

Glad to hear Nick is OK.....be brave through the amoxy days Carolyn! We started our summer vacation with DS on prednisone which was a joy since he alternated being cranky and and wanting to eat everything in sight! He wrapped up with getting sick while driving from PA to Niagara Falls...but kindly had a bag so there was no mess.

I'm stress-eating Doritos now.....stupid family stuff with the IL's......and thinking that I'm glad I'm an only child! :duck:

Gail - hope things improve soon

MP - prayers for Amy's godmother and hugs for you both

Carol - congrats to Sarah !!

:wave2: hi everyone !

Good Morning!!!

Gail Gail Gail~~ Never stress eat 'Doritos'.............they don't work as well as chocolate..........have I taught you nothing......chocolate chocolate chocolate........say it with me now......c-h-o-c-o-l-a-t-e-

all kidding aside~:grouphug: I hope that things will get easier for you guys ASAP and that the inlaws will start to do their share.

GAIL! An only child???? Me too!!! There aren't too many of us around!

Good morning everyone! Sorry I haven't been around much lately, especially to offer support to all of you who need it right now. I have been reading everything, though!

Good morning all!! I must lead a very boring life because I don't have too much to say :p

 Gail... hopefully things will look up soon with the in-laws.

LK, I get that way now and then, so I totally understand. I can usually make the time to read, but not always to reply.

Silly question, if you had a hurt muscle that was not responding to massage, would you try heat and cold on it... this bugger really hurts :(

Good Morning Everyone!

Lou - all you had to say last night was ":wave2: "? I'm shocked!

Carol - congrats to your DD on getting accepted to UMass!

Carolyn - my DD is awful when she has a cold. She whines about everything and is very clingy.

MP -

for Amy's Godmother.

Marsha - did your DH get on his flight yet?

Gotta get movin' and get ready for work.

Elaine,

try putting moist heat on it. (like a damp towel in the microwave: but be VERY careful not to burn yourself: wrap it in another towel). Or they sell aquaheat heating pads. Hope it feels better.

Donna, thanks for that advice... I will have to go out and see what I can find at Walmart or something (being at work stinks for this kind of thing). I can't tell if it is more of a pulled muscle or a tight muscle though... it graduatlly got this way over the last week.

Oh dear Lord help us... Lou found a new site to have fun with  ;)

I am assuming that Pete got on the 7:30 flight, as he isn't answering his cell phone. He totally stressed about this trip, he seems to be having a lot of self doubts. New Job Jitters. (I;m glad he is gone) But he took my car, so that means I am basically stuck at the house, I can drive the van, but only if it's really necessary. I guess it will be later, he has shirts and pants that need to be picked up at the dry cleaners.

Elaine, hope that muscle feels better. I think 2 days of a comfy chair, some hot chocolate with mini marshmallows, and non stop Orlando Bloom Film Festival will make you feel tons better.

Gail - Being an only child puts all the burden on you. Having PITA SILs and BILs, I think it's even.

Off to see if there is a riddle, get some breakfast, and maybe get dressed befor noon.

Morning Gang!

Had a few extra minutes so I thought I'd drop a hello. I really mis getting here as often as I'd like, but the combination of work being ULTRA busy for me right now, and my Mom still not feeling well has made "play" time minimal. :(

I think most of you know that Mom hasn't been feeling herself since about October, when we found that she hand pneumonia....well....she recovered from THAT bout, just to have it develop in another area of her lung. After that (and about 90 zagillion forms of medication that didn't agree with her) she STILL wasn't feeling well, and after going from her GP to a pulmonologist to an ear nose and throat specialist giving test upon test and lastly a CAT scan, it was determined that we needed to schedule her for surgery on her sinus area in April....two days ago, she called me because she was having a reaction to her medication which was causing her mouth to swell (so again....back to the doctor's office) - my humor being what it is and her spirits being what they are, I couldn't resist when I first saw her saying that she should just tell people she decided to go for Botox injections :teeth: (which she found EXTREMELY funny, but it hurt to much for her to laugh)!!!

So....the moral of the story is....even if you HAVE siblings.....SOMEONE always ends up feeling like an only child in times of crisis!

Thanks for listening guys....I hope I'll be back with NORMAL (well normal is ALWAYS questionable) frequency soon!

and..... GAIL!!!! PUT DOWN THE DORITOS!!!!!! :teeth:

Have a good day all! :wave2:
