Missy- My moms dog does the same thing to his front leg about every 2-3 months. Sometimes they give him doggy motrin (Pain killers..not really sure what it is called so I figured I just call it motrin!) I hope she feels better soon.

Ummm...just read about 10 pages and the only thing I remember is about Sasha. (My doggy's name is Sasha also!)

Well the kittens are sleeping with full tummies. We ended up clipping the tips off the bottle nipples.(E - these are bottle nipples..lol!) The little girl still is growling like a wild lion when she eats. She turns into a beast at feeding time They are really adorable though.

I'm sooo glad it is Friday. I could have curled up and taken a nap very easily today. Next week my real training starts. I just did pre-training this week. So far I enjoy the atmosphere. Everyone is very nice.

Well the timer just went off for dinner so I better go get it.

Well I am happy... I just downloaded and installed the drivers for the soundcard on this computer (yeah right Luis, all was perfect for me to take this desktop over... missing drivers, CD/DVD drives not hooked up among other things.....) but I was going stir crazy all week not listening to music after I got home... now I can and I am thrilled!!!!! And I am on a 2.1 system as well!!
Now I just have to transfer files from the laptop, but honestly I hope to start doing more of that after I get the wireless card for this.
Enough geek talk for the night

Sorry it has taken me so long to say thanks to everyone but I had a day for the record books today! Apparently everyone I dealt with today didn't get the memo that it was my birthday. In fact, I think they got the memo that said get in Lou's face today.... Don't you just hate days like that where everywhere you turn people have issues?

Anyway enough of that. I appreciate all of the good thoughts and Alan great songwriting as usual. I thought I should hear music but then I realized it was probably just my hearing.... and I'm really glad you picked Louie, Louie rather than Don't Fear The Reaper.

I am soooo tired right now. I mowed the front and back yard. Weeded and planted 2 new mum plants, then put some new mulch around the flowers. Then I cleaned inside the house and just got done running the carpet cleaner. Then tomorrow, I have to get up early since Brendan has to be at soccer at 8:30. Is it Sunday yet????????????

Our football team lost again, but the band sounded great. There was a bit of a nip in the air before the game was over. Felt a little like fall.

I'd like the crockpot recipe, too. David calls me the queen of the crockpot. I love mine.

Shaping up to be a busy weekend. Allen is going to the gun range in the morning and David is playing in a big water polo match. In the afternoon, Amy and Allen are parking cars for the football game. When they finish up, I'm taking David to the campus and picking Amy up. Guess I'm staying home with Sasha and her gimpy leg. LOL! (She seems to be doing better by the way)

Amy got into leadership. She doesn't know the results for the play yet, but said she got a major laugh at the end of their skit, so she thinks it was a hit.

for those of you who inquired...I thought I'd just post this fabulous crockpot recipe HERE:

4-5# top round roast (you can also use any of the more tender "pot roast" cuts. Round cuts are the better of the pot roast cuts.)
1 can of french onion soup
1 can of cream of mushroom soup

Sear the roast in a pan with a small amount of oil and garlic


mix both soups in the bottom of the crock pot. Toss in the roast.

Cook on low for 6-8 hours


the soups plus the juices make the most fabulous gravy....which we then used the second night as the base for the beef stew.


super simple, and super tasty.

We also cooked this in a dutch oven over a campfire last weekend, for all you adventurous scout families!

Good morning everyone.

I am watching the parade for Michael Phelps on TV. He went to all the schools I attended and lives close to where I grew up. They just renamed the road in front of my high school Michael Phelps Way. Kind of fun to watch. He was at UMD last night but at $30 a ticket, I don't think Sarah went.

Andrew's HS football was last night. The team lost but he played a solo on the mellophone in the show and it warmed my heart.

Today is Band Day at UD where about 20 high school bands play with the University of Delaware's Marching Band at halftime. Jack and I are going. We are working the concession stand but have special permission to leave to watch halftime. Unfortunately that means we can't go to UMD's game.

Tomorrow, Ravens.

Minor Teen Girl Vent~Meg got up before me this morning & decides to make pancakes (what that actually translates to is she made a mess), so anyway she brings me a pancake in bed (shaped like Mickey) but it's like an inch thick & tastes like plaster (fyi I don't even really like good pancakes)....then I come into the kitchen & it's trashed....I'm still biting my lip cause she did try to be nice....then she opens the dishwasher & starts it.......dishes & pans everywhere!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr~I said "Hellooooooo-you left dirty plates & cups & pans all over the counter & in the sink????" grrrrrrrrrrrrr
Her attitude is I should be glad she started it at all...................grrrrrrrrrrrr
