Missy, if I were you, I would probably call the vet and see what they say. At least mine is very good about this, but a lot of the time they will make an appt for the following Monday or a couple days later (depending on when I call). They usually say just watch and wait, and if it isn't any better (hurt, sneezing... anything like that) then I will at least have an appt to get them checked out. I hope Sasha feels better soon.

Eeeeewwwww, Alan bites his toe nails!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:crazy2:

Well Marsha and Lainey...who else would do it? :p

Now then...realizing that I could hardly let Lou's birthday pass without some recognition (boy do I regret not seeing y'all talk about it yesterday), I have this to offer:

But first, let me say that I have a much greater appreciation for those people who tried to interpret this song in the past. I may be picky but when I do a song parody, I print out the lyrics and make sure that each line has the correct number of syllables.

Well for this particular song, what is written on paper, and how it sounds when I found a midi were not exactly the same ;) I had to go back and add a word per line and it still may not quite be there, but then again...no one has ever been fully sure with this little number, have they ;) ?

To the tune of Louie, Louie by the Kingsmen:

Loubon, Loubon, oh yeah, don't ever go
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Loubon, Loubon, oh Angels, he steals the show

A fine birthday guy that we appreciate
When you make a post, he lies in wait
Like a cat - he is gonna spring
Pics and quick comments -yeah, that's his thing

(chorus)

He stirs up trouble every day
You never know just what he will say
Hangs on the DIS - Angel thread
What's going on inside his head?

(chorus)

Me see candles on the cake
How many more can the poor thing take?
Still all the Angels would sure be blue
If there was a DIS without our Lou!

(repeat chorus and spiral into madness, dancing, drinking and debauchery in general)

tick tock tick tock

time is running out to sign up for the angel's fall exchange.

Alan, you are a hoot! :teeth:

E, I've called the vet's office. Our vet isn't there today. But a guy that I went to high school with also works there. He's supposed to call back this afternoon to talk to me about my baby and whether he thinks I need to bring her in. Like I told them, if she could talk and tell me what hurts, I probably would wait. But she isn't acting like herself.

Being a little neurotic, I got out the scissors and trimmed some of her hair. She needs grooming in the worst way and I hated to take her to the doc looking unloved. She was *thrilled* that I was chopping around in her hair when she doesn't feel well. Poor baby. I'm a mean mommy!

Amy finds out today if she gets a leadership position. I have my fingers crossed. It would be good for her and she's never acted interested before. She is also trying out for the school play (actually a group of student written mini skits - Amy wrote theirs). Probably won't know the results of that until next week. She was worried that one cast member keeps giggling and many of them mumble.

Found out the other day that the fall musical at David's school is Beauty and the Beast this year. We ran into the choir teacher when we went to open house. He told David to try out. He asked David if he was familiar with Gaston's song and David said "Mom and Amy play the CD *all the time*!" Wish he had time to do it. But with swimming it's just impossible. I thought Amy would cry. She will be eligible to try out for the musical next year. She'd be perfect for this one. She knows the whole thing. She thinks she is Belle, I believe. ;)

Alan... impressive :teeth:

Steph, sign me up for it! I was thinking about it while I was wandering around Walmart today so I suppose that means I should do it ;)

Missy, give Sasha a hug for me. I sometimes I really wish that I could understand what my babies were saying to me. Like you, I can tell when things are "not right" but it gets so hard to try to figure out if it is something to *really* worry about or not. I hope she feels better soon :)

E, your hug was delivered and appreciated. The doc said he thinks she sprained the doggy equivalent of a person's ankle. It sounded like he called it the hog joint, but that's probably wrong. So she's on low dose aspirin for two days. If it doesn't improve, we are to call in Saturday afternoon to schedule an x-ray.

Mom has a terrible cold. Hope she didn't share it with Amy. They went to see the play The Sound of Music last night together. I'm heading out soon to go buy her a box of kleenex. I'm trying to time it so I can get Amy from play tryouts in the same trip.

David has a football game tonight. I'd sort of like to go watch the band, since we didn't get to see the half-time show last week. I mean, we weren't the home team so they faced the other side of the stadium. I guess it depends on how quickly I can get dinner pulled together and cleaned up.

Missy, glad to hear that all the vet thinks is wrong is a sprain. I do hope Sasha won't have to go in for an x-ray.
I hope your mom is feeling better soon!

Enjoying the evening... I have to say I doubt I will enjoy it quite so much knowing I am going into work tomorrow... but I admit I love the OT I will get :)

Hi Everyone~!

Did I tell you all about my FABULOUS crock pot roast beef?? Tonight it making a return appearance as beef stew...yummm....apple cobbler in the oven too....it certainly feels like fall here in NH. (is it time to get the flannel sheets out??? )

No big plans this weekend...we're doing some fall yard work, and putting the house back together after a hectic week!

Hope you all have a great night...i'll be back later.

Steph, that sounds really good!!!! I am a sucker for beef stew... got room for me at the table? :teeth:

Sure E, there's a couple of bowls left over.

AND I need to make a minor correction to the dessert menu...it's not apple cobbler...it's apple crisp....WTH was I thinking????

Hey, where's the old man????

OH LK...I CAN help you with this....our kids got the characters' autographs the last time we went...let me check their photos.....
