Lou I feel your pain.
I had my wisdom teeth out about 20 years ago and then had all my teeth removed last February. Final check up this week and everything is fine. Keeping ice (save some for the whiskey) on the cheeks occasionally will keep the swelling down. Thanks for some Tylenol 3 with codeine helped the pain. Things should be back to normal tomorrow or Sunday.
Take care.

Hope you're feeling better soon Lou.....and Gerri, keep that scotch flowing. I too had a DH who had his wisdom teeth removed. It was just past our first anniversary so I was still pretty nice to him back then. ;)

I remember going to get him in the recovery area after the procedure and he had ice packs on each jaw and they were tied together above his head. It made me think of Fred Flintstone with a toothache! :teeth:

Gail, DH had his wisdom teeth removed when we were first married, too. I'll never forget bringing him home. We had one step up to our front porch, but he couldn't seem to lift his feet that high. He was shuffling like Tim Conway. :teeth: He just kept sinking down and saying he was just going to rest on the step for a little while, but I knew if he went down I'd never get him back up again. LOL! So I was hanging on for dear life and saying "just lift your foot, come on, you can do it!" I was so relieved when I finally got him into the house. And he couldn't remember any of it the next day.

Brian ~ A guy who works for me had one done last month and ignored the post op and got the dry socket so I'm all over that! Thanks!

E! ~ I can't even imagine having all 4 at once just for the swelling and soreness.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Actually, it's not that bad but then what fun would that be? :p

MP ~ The Drs.office called this afternoon to see how I was doing and I said it was a little sore so the woman said "well it will probably get worse before it gets better". To which I said, "Gee, thanks for calling!" :p

Funny side note....Gerri signed on to my PC before and didn't sign out. So I was reading links to the DIS from my e-mail. For some reason when you read the links of a different user the post times are wacky (I checked both our settings and it was fine.) So I looked at a post and it said 8:30 PM. Only problem was it was about 3:30!!! And I sat here thinking, boy this is some pretty strong stuff they gave me! :p

Now was that one pill every 6 hours, or 6 pills every hour??:scratchin :faint:

:wave2: Okay got the patient fed and he was even up for Dessert.....Pudding and whipped cream........It's amazing how the genes on both sides of the family can do dessert no matter what!!!!!!

It's been Miller time since dinner, so feeling no more pain here either......GOOD WHISKEY + GOOD BEER = Boiler Maker or one drunk nurse........................

By the way it's 6 pills every hour right.........:smooth:

Matt's game was called once it started pouring.....we're home and it looks like the Sox/Yankees game will also be rained-out. I've decided to support Gerri so I'm having a bottle.....I mean a glass of wine.

I suggest 3 pills every half hour!

I had all 4 of mine removed at the same time, too. We angels are just tough cookies. ;) Then my grandfather died the following day. I looked like a puffed up toad at the funeral.

I'm with Lou. I can almost always do dessert. And he deserves it tonight, for sure.

Yeah, I will second that... poor Gerri ;)

Lou, 4 honestly wasn't that bad for me at all. And I didn't swell up much. Since Gail did too, I think they are just more apt to do it with women, since we are more tolerant and quick healers ;)

I was quite lucky, Luis had his removed in college over winter break. By the time I went out there for NYE (he was at his parents) he was more or less healed up. Luis was lucky too, he left to go home from college the morning I had mine removed. Neither had to put up with the other all drugged up :)

Although I really am understanding how the male brain works. I told Luis I was going to get something "comforting" for dinner since I am cold... I gave him some options to choose from for me... he said "Wendy's sounds the best for you. Can you pick me up a Jr. Bacon cheeseburger?"
And here I was going to have a brownie sundae from DQ for dinner otherwise :p

Okay so it wasn't uphill both ways......but, I really did have to ride my bicycle to get there........

E - It sounds like Luis was thinking with his stomach in mind...:teeth:

I like the DQ idea better though.....

And thanks for feeling my pain as well as Lou's........Isn't sharing fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

Gerri, always glad to share your pain ;)

I do have to laugh... I used to walk to school when I was in grade school (in a nasty uniform to insult to injury)... and I cannot wait to be able to use this on my kids ;) but it was uphill both way! We lived on the slope of a hill and the school was on the other side of it... now that I think about it my college was the same way... had to walk down a "valley" and back up to get to class. And I did do that in the snow and -30 temps... I'll remember that one.

I am in 7th Heaven right now... I listen to Lauchcast Radio and they have this station called "Power Ballads" wow... I *love* this stuff!

I never got any wisdom teeth but did have to have 4 permanent molars removed so there was room in my mouth for my teeth. I think that about counts as the same thing as some hadn't even come up through the gum yet.

I don't think Sarah should read this or she will not be getting hers out any time soon.

I had 2 pints of beer with dinner. It was GOOOOOD!!.

WARNING: Another wisdom tooth removal story to follow..............DH & I were engaged when he had his first 2 impacted wisdom teeth removed......the doctor told him not to eat or suck (from a straw or cigarette & he smoked at the time) at all.....DH, easily fooled by the anistetic, apparantly thought he was 10 feet tall & bulletproof so he proceeded to eat some 'Combos' & smoke a few cigarettes cause "It didn't hurt at all"  Boy did he ever regret that:laughing:
He ended up taking pain killers & my mother was not about to let him drive home while he was taking the meds so he spent the night in our dining room on a sofa we had already gotten but were storing in my parents dining room until we had a place to put it....the next morning he was a MESS....covered in blood:eek: My mother walked in, took one look at him & said to me "Well, if you can still love him after seeing him like this you'll do okay together":rotfl:

I actually still have 3 of my wisdom teeth & they're not causing me any trouble...the one I had removed was no big deal at all.....I think maybe cause it was already through the gum when it was removed.

When I had my wisdome teeth pulled I didnt have much of a problem. I think I lost 10 pounds too.

Lou had his pulled a couple years ago. Later that night Sam was sick and we had to take him to the er (he was dehydrated). Well, they get the IV in Sam and thay had to put one of those wooden things on his arm so he wouldnt play with the tubing.
He was sitting on Lou's lap and let his little arm fly, right into Lou's jaw. I think the nurses saw the stars and birds flying around Lou's head.

Love all these horror stories!

We watched The Sound of Music tonight. Amy and I sang all the songs. We're good. Too bad I didn't have a spoon.

David is home. His date went well. They went to a hockey game. He can't decide if he should get serious about this girl. They are on the youth board together and he's afraid if they date and later break up it would be hard to keep the community of the group. Oh the problems of youth.

Melissa, many is the time that Mrs. AA and I have said it is so good to be married and not worried about the insecurities of dating.

I understand what he is going through. There was a girl in a drama group that I was in that would have been very easy to fall for, but we were a group that had to work well as a unit and I wouldn't risk it.

Obviously, it all worked out for the best :teeth:

I've already run off two Angels tonight while acting as your night watchman (I think I was TLMS when I had to watch y'all's behavior last) so check in and go to bed!

Y'all have a great weekend!

 Morning All! Survived yesterday..............Lou still in bed, so don't know what today will bring...................

Had to take older princess: to the high school for PSAT's this morning at 7:30, if it was me I would have opted to take the test in my PJs, from the looks of some of the kids there, some had that very same idea.........

E-I know what you mean about having had to walk to school....although I didn't have to walk uphill both ways some of the best memories I have of High School were those walks with friends to and from school.......Kids today have no idea what they are missing.................Although unfortunately for them it is a different world we live in, and you probably wouldn't want them walking all over town anyway......................

But, it is fun to take every opportunity to tell my kids how we had to walk, rain, sleet, snow and shine about 2 miles to get there and no one took pity on us..........................::yes::
