Star, I went through the same thing when Amy was in early elementary school. She could read anything you put in front of her. She started reading on her own at three. She was bored to tears in Kindergarten and 1st when they wanted her to choose from beginning readers. She was reading chapter books while other kids were learning the alphabet. I'm not bragging. She just was almost born with a book in her hands.
I had to get them to give her special permission to check out more challenging books. Her teachers laugh that they never see her without a book in her hands.
Wow MP it's exactly the same... g taught himself to read when he was 3 and 1st grade isn't at all challenging for him. Btw I won the library battle but I lost the battle on letting him read harry potter "at" school. His teacher doesn't think he's mature enough. Do you think I should encourage one at a time??

I think Id rather get laid off
Then maybe I could act in an off Broadway play
Which if televised would cause everyone to switch off their TVs
Then I would expect getting the brush off from my friends and family
Which might drive me mentally off center?
Or give me time to goof off
Or perhaps write a spin off
That just might lift off
But thats all I've got off the cuff
