Shopping is done. It was actually quite easy for me this year. While it's my dad's 60th on Friday, he doesn't want anything special and he requested some ties. I know that is quite boring, but honestly he is badly color blind and I know what kind of outfits he has for work, so I usually pick ties that I know will work with most of his outfits.
And to make it a bit less practical, he now will get a few import beers that we can only get in one place, that we know he will love.

Carol, I am glad you enjoyed church today... I know what you mean about it being hard to leave a church. I do wish you well with all that. I hope all goes well with your trip to the DC area

Merry, thanks for that chuckle with the moose antlers. I agree, normally I have such a hard time shopping for my dad. He really has everything he wants at the moment (that any real person can afford ) I hope I can figure out something between now and next year though

Very sleepy here... just watched Ocean's 11 (new version). I really wish I had gone to see this one in the theatre... they are hilarious in this!!

Well, LK and Leah came over today. Leah said she was bored at home so I'm glad they came over. Pool was pretty cold because of all the rain and cooler weather we've been getting and the heater is still not installed. Shannon is passed out on the couch now, and LK and my DH are watching "Mystic River". I watched it last night, so I thought I'd catch up on here. Supposed to go to Kennywood tomorrow, but I think we are going to get more rain.

Luis put in Bad Boys 2... now I have a stomach for blood & guts... but this just didn't have many other redeaming qualities to it. Still going and it keeps on dragging

The kids were dying to see Spiderman 2, so we went to the show instead of the drive-in. It was good. Not my favorite kind of movie, but the sexual tension makes it fun to watch.

IL's - grrrrrr!!!!! First time in 16 years we've been able to celebrate FIL's birthday (he's 85 tomorrow) but MIL was in a mood and refused to have cake, refused to sit at the table with us....just sat on the sofa and sulked.

OK - vent over. Sounds like everyone had nice weekends. We did too, that was only a minor blip on the radar.

Well, I didnt have to work. But we didnt go to the Ren Faire either. Instead we surprised Sam and went to

Six Flags-Great America

The weather was great, maybe about 80. It was hot in the sun, but not terribly brutal.
We had a nice day, but I was very disappointed with the lack of family friendly rides. They have 2 kid themed areas, tons of major thrill rides, and only a couple things we could all do together. Then there is the fact that I am very spoiled with Fast Passes, I refuse to wait in any line over 20-30 minutes.
Oh, but they do have a coaster called Ragin' Cajun that looked very similar to Primeveil Whirl. The line was an hour long, so we didnt go on it, maybe next time.

Heard on the news that Dale Jr. had a wreck and was burned? They said he was in the hospital for observation tonight. Guess that means he'll be okay.

Gail, I sympathize. They can act a bit like children can't they?

Sounds like Lars, LK, SB and Bethany had good days. (Great pics Bethany! I've heard rumors that the old 6 Flags guy is really a woman. Anyone else hear that? "He" won't talk when he makes public appearances.)

SB, it's unseasonably cool. Only in the 90's today. I wouldn't call that chilly, though.

Allen fixed the broken drawer in my planning desk tonight. That lit a fire under me to clean out all the junk that had been in it. He also brushed our other dog, Buddy. That's a job because Buddy is a big baby that cries if he even sees a brush or a pair of scissors. Anyway, DH gets some real honey-do points today.

sounds like everyone had a fun weekend

it's a public holiday here today.....no work....yeah!!

Lorraine - we saw mystic river on our way yo Florida this year, hubbie really enjoyed it

hasd a lovely wee nap yesterday afternoon, made me feel much better

today i've got to change over our address with all the banks etc etc, we've only one more rent payument on the flat in London and then we can get out of the contract....thank god for my parents....theres no way we could have paid two lots of rent!

later on i'm babysitting for my sisters 4 kids to let her get out for a bit.....cutsie neice was doing very well with her walking yesterday....still at the stage when she only does it on certain days!

Morning!
Wasn't around much yesterday. Left here at noon and didn't get back until 7:00 p.m. Drove 3 hours to meet up with my SIL to get my nephews who are 14 and 15 to spend 2 weeks with us. We ate and visited with her for a bit then drove back the 3 hours.
They live in Virginia. My nephews have spent a couple weeks with us every summer since they were toddlers.

SB, I'm hoping to get to Kennywood this summer, maybe while my nephews are here. Good Luck with the weather today!
I thought Mystic River was good, but it was sad.

E, you must be getting so excited! Just look at that countdown!

It's raining here right now but should stop soon and after that a pretty nice week. The kids go to camp at a lovely place and I feel so bad when rain doesn't let them enjoy the pool.
