Oh sure, turn the focus on me....

She still hasn't told us what "manly duty" he wouldn't perform to drive her to do it herself!

This could either be taken with gratitude by him, or serve as an insulting slap across the face for her doing it.

So what was it.....hmmmm?

You all are very chatty today. Confusing chatty, but still chatty.

Beautiful day here today, but very windy. I don't want the cold weather to come back.

Steph - where did you go? i think Alan is waiting for your response.

well, since inquiring minds need to know...and DH himself walked in while I was trying to update last :o

I ripped up the carpeting in the dining room. It was NASTY!!! We're doing the laminate that we started last month in the kitchen, through to the dining room.....and it just seemed like a good weekend to do it.
SOOOOOO, now my dining room table is in the middle of my kitchen (and it fits!!!). I tore up all the carpet, except around the china hutch, because I just can't move that myself. Yanked up the carpet, and pad, and I can't even begin to tell you how much dirt was under the carpet from 13 years, 3 kids, 3 dogs and 2 bunnies....ggggack...

SOOOOOO, DH wasn't mad. However, we decided NOT to go out for dinner, but to get the room prepped so we can do the floor tomorrow. Chicken parmesan for dinner tonight..yum....

Catch you later!

Wondering what the "manly duty" was:scratchin :p

I ended up going to get the GS cookies from the lady's house. I was invited to lunch with a friend so I was going out anyway. I also stopped at mom and dad's. Turns out grandmother has had a really "bad" time since last night. She is now insisting she can drive:rolleyes: She is throwing huge tempers thinking it will cause mom and dad to cancel their trip and stay home. She got mad tonight because we were talking to A's mom about where she will pick up A next week, my house or mom's. Since no one was paying attention to her she jumped up and started screaming that she was a "retard because she shakes".
I guess this should prove to be a very interesting week. I already have "what if" plans in place.
To make matters worse...I have to cook real meals next week :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: AND have ONIONS in my house!! YUCK!!!
Well off to cook dinner...later:wave:

I guess I need to type faster since I see the man question was answered before I was finished. Of course I get sidetracked very easily when I'm posting so one post can take up to 15min to type between everything else:)

WOW!

Well I wasn't planning on staying up late but I've had to because you are all so chatty ;)

j/k, but I did just (scan) read 14 pages - the amount you've filled since I last posted LOL.

So, by way of a catch up:

morning all, got thrown off the computer last night so hubbie could set up some game for him and his friends to play online together???

Cami, _believe me_ I know the feeling LOL, DBF is a big time gamer

Alan - You made me smile (more than a few times in 14 pages for many reasons) with a picture from MASH. I haven't watched it for a few days so will have to soon, miss it!

Lou - Great catch up a few pages or so back, :rotfl: to that one, keep them up please :)

Merry - Glad to hear you are okay after the tornado. We were trained what to do in the event when I lived in FL (where and how to evacuate ppl from Epcot etc)

Marsha - Confusing stuff about the wedding! Anyways, I hope it goes well :)

Ranatra - I can't believe how quickly your DD's wedding is coming up! Cancun sounds great as a honeymoon trip ::yes::

Speaking of weddings, we found out tonight that DBF's mother is going to get remarried. We couldn't be more happy for them :teeth:

SB - GOOD LUCK!!! Any chance if you win they will sub a flight from the UK to Orlando? ;)

To everyone else - Big :wave2:'s!!

I'm starting to sort out our holiday for definite now. If we stop in Philly for two nights who is going to meet us there? Hopefully plenty o' Angels!!!

Sorry for the long post ;)

For you trivia fans....

Well, I couldn't find onion phobia specifically, so perhaps she has:

Olfactophobia - Phobia of odours or smells.

::yes::

Here's an interesting one for you, today I was in my local town centre and saw three red carnations strewn on the floor (in a random place in the middle of a busy street, pretty trampled)... a few hours later I was in another town nearly 20miles away and I saw another red carnation on the floor in the train station.... what does this mean?!?

Cya,
Gaspode

Gaspode, if you have a Philadelphia meet, I'll come. Odd about the carnations.

I am glad Lars was heard from, even if we don't get to see a picture.

Carolyn, when you don't have real meals, what do you have?

Quiet night here. DS is playing XBox, DD is babysitting, and DH went out to the movie store.

I generally don't like to do recaps so close together but I left you all alone today and look what you did!!!!

So today we learned (or didn't):

The morning riddle will now be called the morning SAT question. I still don't get it and I have an MBA!!!!

There's Girl Scout Cookies at Carolyn's house

Donna actually thought that saying Sue meant a uniform that looked like pajamas would get us guys any less :hyper: :hyper:
(Sue may never come back!)

CS wants advice about twister season........check your PMs

Gail's Mickey Mouse ears were on fire

If there is anyone here that can tell me how many sisters, brothers or fathers Marsha has and what religion she is please feel free to jump in BTW Marsha, I wasn't in chat....who were you talking to??

LK has Mad Cow Disease

SB is apparently too good for us now that she has won another local contest (does anyone else live in your town?)

Alan's not brave with his comments, he's crazy :earseek:

Steph I thought the manly duty had to do with changing tires but I guess not. And when Lars comes back I'm telling her you made her fall off the lunar module. The one she sent me was fine!

Melissa UK you're freaking me out with red carnations scattered about the UK

And to everyone else, just be thankful I didn't critque the extended versions of the LOTR Trilogy (Extended??? What the heck were the regular ones???) :p

Hiya

I can't seem to wind-down and get to sleep :(

So I thought I would come online, look at some job sites etc, but first, check out the Angel thread and lo and behold Lou and Steph have not failed me !

Steph, thanks for the link, I had to download quicktime but it was worth it! Great to see Lars, sure she is having a good time... LOL, she did make me think of Dory tho' (just keep waving, just keep waving ;)) okay, so I modified it a bit, love ya Lars, mean it!!

Lou, sorry to freak you out - I freaked myself out tbh! Jon thinks that perhaps it is the anniversary of something here in the UK and they have something do do with that but I can't find anything on the news... hmmm...

but thanks for the recap! again, keep 'em coming :)

Cya,
Gaspode

Lou, thanks for the chuckle.....
and I didn't make Lars fall...that was her interpretive dance of the "solution to the math riddle"

Okay folks, I'm gonna do something I NEVER do....her for your viewing pleasure, the riddle answer. I'm done giving cheaters TU today.
Lou, I think you got wrapped around the axle because it was a pure math problem...no logic...well, now come to think of it, that should have been a benefit for you.....hmm.....i'll get back to you on that...

anyways...

If you set it up as a proportion it's easier to see:
1/2 (16) /13 = 1/3 (32)/x

Cross multiplying gives:

8x = 416/3

x = 416/24

x = 17 1/3

well it's 2,15am here, bit tipsy, friend from uni round, had a lovely night, not had a chance to do a chatch up, will do it in the morning, hope you've all had good night
cami
x

Yeah okay so you googled it too...;)

I still don't see how you get that from this

And I don't understand why everyone in the UK can't sleep tonight! :p

Lou~it's a simple comparison with cross multiplication...go ask your wife.

Googled it??? I HAVE The answer remember??? You don't think I make this stuff up do you???

nevermind..don't answer that.

She didn't get it either. And not to lead us to the debate board :chat: but.....

I just don't see how "If 1/2 of 16 were 13" translates to "1/2 (16) /13" Were sounds like = (equals) to me...

You didn't say anything about dividing, gozintas or anything like that. I would like to poll the rest of the Angels but since they all cheated I will let it go.....:wave2:

Just for the record, I didn't cheat. BUT I don't think it makes sense either. ;)

Yippee....we have a Lars sighting!!!!

Anybody still awake in the UK???

Hi Melissa :wave2:

Hi Cami :wave2:

Hi Lou :wave2:

Hi Carol :wave2:

Hi Steph :wave2:

Hi Melissa :wave2:

good night John Boy!

*I* didn't cheat either... as I was saying to Merry earlier, we Melissa's are just wonderful like that ;)

Oh, hang on, I didn't even go to the riddle thread today!!!

As you can see, yes, I'm still awake in the UK. Wide awake actually *sigh*

Cya,
Gaspode

PS Steph, you never did explain your 'Alas' comment w/ regards Lars!
