Angelrose's Journey

Oh I'm so glad you had a great time at Disney. Of course who wouldn't? I can't wait to read your report and see your pictures.

I have to get Chuck to give me his pictures so I can post them with my report.

Happy Memorial Day to all!

Hello my friends. Yesterday was my 70th birthday and I had such a great time. MY cousin Joan treated me to pancakes and then we did a bit of shopping. I had some Kohls cash that I needed to spend, so I found a pretty wallet I liked. It turned out I got it for free so I was very happy. I still have $3 left that I will probably spend next week.

Now normal people go to a movie, buy their tickets and get to watch said movie. And then there is Joan and me. It took the girl 5 minutes to figure out how to take $2 off our price with a coupon. She asked which movie. I said loud and clear, Pitch Perfect 2. She hands us our tickets and tells us which theater to go to. We watch 9,000 previews and then this one preview is taking a long time. Well, that's because we are in the wrong theater. The girl had given us the wrong tickets and told us the wrong theater. We rush out and find someone who actually knows what they are doing , changes our tickets and luckily the movie was still showing previews. After watching ANOTHER 9,000 previews we actually got to see Pitch Perfect 2. Now who else could this possibly happen to?? It was a great show and we both loved it.

Chuck and Karen were taking me to dinner at an Italian restaurant in Atlantic City. OMG it was so good. Lots of laughs and good food and best of all, Italian Rum cake for dessert. I even had leftovers for lunch today. It was a great birthday.

Belated :bday: Mary!! Glad you had a wonderful dinner w/family, shopping spree and movie w/your cousin! :cake:

Things are good here in Md :teeth:. Busy week-end - last pm was Gson's flag football game, which they won - this morn was another Gson's soccer game and they got lucky and also won :smooth:! Then tonight we attended our Gdaughter's 4 hr recital and dinner afterwards. She did 9 group routines plus 1 tap solo and didn't miss a beat! So proud of her, think this is her 11th yr of dance and last week-end at competition her tap routine won 1st place! :flower3:

Hope everyone is having a great week-end! Our nephew and family are coming in tomorrow fr Ohio. Their daughter is on break fr college and coming to work in Md for summer. I'll be fixing dinner for all our family, so should be a wonderful time of catching up on old times and new! xo

Hope you enjoy this BD bouquet just for you! :D

Oh thank you 4nana. It's beautiful. Big Congrats to both your grandsons and your granddaughter.

Hello my friends. I know I haven't posted in a while. I have been so tired since I got back from Dollywood. I think I had a virus or something. I finally got back to normal the end of last week. This week I have been getting in my 10,000 steps every day.

The good news is that Chuck finally downloaded all the Dollywood pictures onto my computer. The bad news is that I have to go through over 500 pictures for my trip report! I will sort through them a bit this weekend. Maybe I can finally post my report in a week or so.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Glad you're feeling better, AR. Anxious to read trip report and see pix. Take care. :flower1:

Oohhh...looking forward to your TR! Always fun to see & hear about someplace I've never been.

My grandson Ben is keeping me busy. He's 2 weeks shy of 14 months& still prefers to crawl. He's figured out that it's faster! The boy loves to be read to. I think I'm going to get hoarse with all the reading!

We've had the weirdest weather this week. It was 108 on Monday, Tuesday was better, but humid, then had rain on Wednesday! We rarely get summer rain. And it looks like we'll let our front lawn die. Don't want to pay the fine for not cutting back 25% from 2 years ago. We replaced the back lawn with high quality fake stuff last year.

Hello my friends. Today is the 6th anniversary of Ron's passing. I miss him so much. I just know he is up there smiling at his grandchildren. When I look back at those first horrible days after he passed and where I am now, I hope he is proud of me and how I am coping. You know you never really "get over" the death of someone you have spent most of your adult life with. You just learn it survive as best you can.

Oh a brighter note, I am busy downloading lots of pictures for my trip report. Be forewarned, there are a LOT of pictures.

Angelrose :rose:, I'm sorry sweetie, sure doesn't seem like 6 yrs since we first met and prayed for a miracle for your dear soul mate, Ron ((hugs)). Know, your Dis friends are proud of you, how far you have come one day at a time and the example you set by living life to the fullest. Ron's loving memories are tucked safely in your heart as he smiles from above and helps guide you and family in all your days. Thank you for sharing your loving family with us and wish you continued blessings. Godspeed ^i^

Belated Happy Birthday!!!! Sorry I haven't been posting much lately. I can't believe it's been 6 years since we started talking. You certainly have come a long way - Ron is so proud of you! Hope everyone here is doing well, I'll try to come back more often. :love2:

Thank you all for your kind words of support. It means a lot to me. All I can do is keep on living as best as I can. Sometimes it's really hard, and sometimes I can really laugh and remember the goofy things he did. Yes, my Ron was very goofy at times just to make me laugh.

I don't know what I would have done all these years without all your support of me. You have all helped me so much.

Jesse got his summer Mohawk yesterday. You have to see my handsome grandson.

Doesn't he look all grown up? Today was his last day of school and he came home SOBBING. I thought he was hurt at first. After about 5 minutes of him sobbing and gasping, I finally calmed him down. You know why he was crying? Because he is getting a new teacher next year and he was already missing his teacher from this year. I told him that he would be able to see her next year. She wasn't going away and he would see her in the halls.

So much for being so grown up. LOL

I almost there to start posting. I have to get the pictures in order and then I can start posting. Maybe on Sunday.

HAPPY 4th of July my friends. We went to see Inside Out this morning with the whole family. It was really cute, but nothing I would buy. We had lunch at Applebees and then I came back home. We were going to drive over to see the fireworks in Atlantic City from the Home Depot parking lot but as we were getting ready to leave, Jesse said he didn't feel well. His tummy hurt and he felt like he was going to puke. Well, that ended our fireworks trip. Jesse just wanted to go to bed, poor kid. I drove back home and watched a movie. What a day. But at least I was with the whole family most of the day.

Happy Independence Day to you Angel.

It was a work day for me since I am hospital personnel. Then grilled lamb burgers with veggies for husband and myself. Now I am barely tolerating the fireworks being blown off around the neighborhood, oh well.

Same to you debknight. Those lamb burgers sound really good. I'm with you. I hate the neighborhood firecrackers. One neighbor across the street does them. FInally a little after 9, they stopped. YAYYYYYYYY! Around midnight, there were two BIG BANGS. Woke me and was sitting straight up in bed, before I blessed them and went back to sleep. There were even a few tonight.

I babysat this morning so Chuck and Karen could do their grocery shopping. When they got home, I went back home for a quick lunch and then drove over to the pool for a swim. Zoey came running up to me and that was the end of my laps. Chuck got a new toy. Yes I said Chuck. As in my 43 year old son. It's called a "Toypedo". It's shaped like a torpedo and you throw it underwater and it ZOOOOOMS away. We played with it while Karen did some swim laps. Then Zoey had to play with grandmom and daddy. It was a fun time for all of us. The swim club was having a clam bake, so Chuck enjoyed a nice seafood dinner. I did more laps until I gave out around 4. I went home, had a shower and dinner and didn't move for the rest of the evening.
