Hello my friends. Last week was the week from h***. Last Wednesday, I had to have a tooth extracted. Unfortunately it was under a crown which was attached to all the other crowns on the bottom of my mouth. Eight shots of Lidocaine. Then he had to drill off each individual crown and then scrape off the old cement. After that he took yet another impression. Finally he got to extracting the tooth which was in a million pieces. He put in three stitches and I was finally able to drive home. I was eating Advil 4 or 5 times a day, rinsing with warm salt water and sitting in my recliner for the rest of the day. I had a swollen jaw for about three days.
Well, the swelling is finally all down. I had the stitches taken out today and I can't take any more Advil. I was hoping that I could take it for a few more days, but this morning I woke up very dizzy and had some mild cramps. I know what that means. My stomach is bleeding from the Advil. Now I can't take any more for at least a week. So I just have to put up with the ache.
Now I am done with my whining.
We had one mean thunder storm this morning. As I was driving Jesse to camp, the thunder started. I knew we were going to have a bad storm, but it was supposed to be later in the day. I got Jesse signed in and it was starting to sprinkle, so I drove the 5 minutes to the dentist office to get my stitches out an hour early. I made it inside just as the rain really started to come down.
It was a hot storm and the electricity went off in the office for a couple of minutes. Luckily it came back on. Karen called me to tell me that the storm was circling around and to wait at the dentist until the rain slowed down. They were worried that I would get caught driving home and wouldn't be able to see.
The rain was so heavy that you couldn't see across the street. After I got the stitches out, I debated on whether I should stay, but it looked like the rain was letting up, so I got in my car and drove towards home. I hadn't gotten a mile away when the rain really came down. I could hardly see and the roads were flooded on both sides, so that my car got splashed from one side and I drove though huge puddles of my own. It was very scary. But I made it home just as the rain did slow down and I got inside without getting soaked. I had to call Chuck to tell him that I made it home safely. They worry about me so much. Makes me feel so loved.
