Angelrose's Journey

Welcome to this thread 5DisneyNuts. No intrusion at all. You are right that everyday annoyances don't amount to much in the big picture. I really do believe that loves lives forever. Just as I know my Ron is watching over us and waiting for me when my times comes.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It means a lot to me. I wish the same for you.

Yikes! Where did the summer go?!

DH & I will have 3 tag-alongs for the first half of our WDW trip next month. We've reserved a one-bedroom at the Boardwalk & asked our son in New York if his family would join us. So they're going to meet us there! Jackson will be 8 months old. (The same age Ben was when went to Disneyland.) we're also on a wait list for a 2bedroom & a studio. If one of those comes up, we'll have more room, but because of Food & Wine, we're not counting on it.

We're finding it frustrating trying to plan ADRs & FP+. We're regulars at Disneyland and like the regular FP system. (Sounds like you've had some planning woes for your Feb. trip, Angelrose.

Oh well, it'll be a different kind of trip with the little guy anyway. After they leave, we move to Bay Lake Towers & it'll be just the two of us (celebrating our 40th Anniversary!)

Angelrose, how is the new school year treating Jesse & Zoey?

They had their first day Thursday and it was just half day and the same today. So far they both love their teachers.

This summer has gone by fast. I can't believe my last swimming day will be Monday. They close the pool then. But I have some things to look forward to. Just planning our February trip is so exciting and frustrating.

Karen wanted to book My Disney Girls Perfect Princess Tea. You wouldn't believe all the problems. It's supposed to be 180 days out from the day you want to book. She tried to book online and got a "No information available". So she tried calling. Same result. It seems the manager hadn't bothered to put the information in. She tried emailing customer service. With the same results. But she was assured since it's so expensive, not many people book it, so you should have no trouble getting a reservation sometime in the future. REALLY?? After that Karen was DONE with that. We are all so disappointed with Disney over this. Nobody seems to care to do their jobs.

But we have other things that have been planned so we are looking forward to that.

WOW, I posted about Karen's problem with booking the Princess Tea on the community board and 8 pages later, people are just being mean. I'm so glad this thread is a safe harbor and nobody is mean to anyone else.

The school year is going well and I'm babysitting on Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays. I'm enjoying doing my steps and trying to stay healthy.

We are getting annual passes in February because we are going to go to the Food and Wine festival in October so the kids can trick or treat and see the party. We are also going in December so the kids can see all the decorations and music and all the Santas as well as the party.

I wish I could start packing right now. LOL Only 135 days to go. I already have my plane reservations.

Thursday is the cousins dinner. I'm looking forward to that. We always have a lot of fun and lots of laughs. We usually close the restaurant down.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Yeah, I saw that thread about the Tea Party. Rather typical Community Board fodder. You're right - safe harbor here!

I remember you mentioning the cousin's dinner in the past - what a fun thing to do! My dad's side of the family would always get together on Memorial & Labor Days. Everyone had so much fun catching up.

We got Annual Passes 5 years ago when we went in Dec and then the following Oct. It made it so worth it!

I know what you mean about ready to pack. Our trip is only 5 weeks away and I have a 4 day trip to Lake Tahoe before that. (My local son & DDIL are in a wedding, so I'll tag along to nanny Ben. Works for me!)

We had horrendous heat last week and now it's too cold! Supposed to warm up on the weekend. Our news is full of the fires north of us. Everyone I know has vacationed in that area at some point. Many 2nd homes are there too. It's the locals who have lost everything that breaks your heart.

I've seen the fires in the news and it's just horrible. So many people have lost their homes and businesses. Just so sad.

I know you will enjoy your trip to Tahoe and "having" to babysit Ben. It's such a hardship, I know.:rotfl:

And tell us all about your Disney trip too.

Angelrose, I just found this thread and have to send you a hug. I have not read through all 159 pages just a handful. You are in my prayers and I truly admire your courage. Your husband is indeed in the best place ever and forever with and watching over you and your family. God is LOVE and LOVE never ends and your precious husband is with Our Lord Jesus right now and always. God Bless You!

I saw your tea party thread, typical community board - it's the main reason I don't come to the Dis boards anymore. I stick to Facebook these days. You post something innocent here and it degenerates into personal attacks. I know you will have a great time no matter what you do, you have a great family!

Thank you so much flyingdumbo127. I appreciate the hug and the blessing. Today I needed to hear that.

Thank you snappyd. I have learned my lesson about posting on the Community board anything that could any way become a debate. My goodness you'd think I was trying to blame Disney for all the wrongs in the world. One poster sent me a message that while she was at the GF she asked about the bookings and it is now open. I thought that was so kind of her.

hi angelrose, i've never been on this board before and just saw this thread. i'm so sorry for your loss! you remind me of my dear neighbor, you look like her even! she lost her husband suddenly a few years ago to a blood clot. he was the dearest man. to see her pain, was heartbreaking. i can't imagine what it feels like to go through that. my thoughts and prayers are with you, and i will indeed hug and squeeze my family a bit tighter tonight than normal.

Thank you Lori74. It's been a long road. I appreciate your thoughts and prayers. It seems whenever I am down, someone new comes to give me their support. I am truly blessed.

of course, and i saw you might have been having a hard time with the other thread, chin up. you have lots of supporters and caring people in your corner! take care and do something nice for yourself!

Thank you so much. I guess since the people on this thread are so caring and just plain NICE, I thought the other thread would be too. I just have to remember all the wonderful things people here have said and done for me. I am so grateful.

Hello!

I survived my weekend in Tahoe with Ben - whew! It was more work than I thought it would be. My husband was going to go too, but he didn't want to take 2 days off work & he really wanted to go to the weekend A's/Giants games.

We taped all the drawers & cupboards closed, rubber banded some. He loved opening & slamming doors!

We weren't at lake level -we were up on the ridge where one side overlooks the lake and the other side overlooks Carson City & surrounding towns. The altitude got to me (7500 ft) I'd pick up Ben & carry him a few steps when I found myself gasping for breath! We had fun, but I took a long nap when he slept yesterday!

Next up: Disney World (with other grandson!)

Hi minniecarousel. Good to see you again. Little ones do have so much energy. Wish we could bottle that.

Glad you survived. LOL Now you can get some much needed rest before you tackle Disney World.

We had our family dinner on the 17th and had such a lot of fun. Here is our usual picture.

Ah, yes, the Cousin's dinner! You'll have to tell us about it - it sounds like you always have so much fun!

I'm so excited - we might get rain on the weekend!

We did have a lot of fun at our dinner. It was an Italian restaurant and we all ate our fill. I took half of mine home. Of course they always make fun of me for ordering dessert. I was the only one, although I did share a bit with my cousin Joan. Just a bit. No need to get silly about sharing dessert! It was Italian rum cake and that is my all time favorite cake.

I showed pictures of my grandkids and the silly pictures of Joan and me at the Mystery Tea. And that is when Joan hit me. LOL Well, if I'm going to look silly, I want company!

We all got together for the picture and instead of saying "cheese", my cousin Rosalie's husband John shouted, something to do with a bull. Of course it was so unexpected that everyone laughed.

I can't wait for our next cousin's dinner, hopefully next July.

WOW, I posted about Karen's problem with booking the Princess Tea on the community board and 8 pages later, people are just being mean. I'm so glad this thread is a safe harbor and nobody is mean to anyone else.

Just reread your thread about the Princess Tea, and actually, after 8 pages, it seemed rather tame to me - didn't even get locked, like so many do :) Other than a couple posters (who were not nice at all IMO), most were actually trying to be helpful to you. Hope that you have now either been able to book, or have made other plans that you can be looking forward to! :) Hiding behind a screen name on a computer can bring out some real 'nasties' in some people. :(

(That's why I seldom post looking for help - a simple thread can turn ugly for some reason - thankfully the Dis is monitored and can't get too bad before being locked - unlike some other forums which I will not go to.)

Thank you North of Mouse. You are right, most people were trying to help. One person even went so far as to talk to the manager of the GF while she was there. She gave me an email and a cell phone number. So far the manager hasn't answered the emails and Karen is waiting to try the cell phone number until a little later this month. I thought that was so kind of this person to go to all that trouble while on her own vacation.

I guess I've led a sheltered life here on the DIS. I haven't read any posts that have gotten really nasty. Most people here are really helpful and I've had my share of kind words and encouragement.
