Angelrose's Journey

Hello everyone. I finally got all my Christmas decorations put away and the tree down. Chuck came last Saturday and took it down for me. It feels good to have everything dusted and vacuumed entirely now.

You all know how I love to swim in my pool every summer. Well, it has gotten so expensive and so much work that I was thinking about not opening it and buying a membership in the pool down the road from me. Well, Karen has been working for the swim team so much that they have given her a family membership for free to this pool. I am so happy that I don't have to pay anything at all and can still swim every day I want to.

Of course I won't be able to swim as early as I usually do, but I will just go right at noon and swim for a couple of hours. Jesse will be swimming in the morning with the swim team and then I can walk him across to his day camp before I swim.

Luckily we didn't get the 18 inches of snow that was forecast for our area. We just got about 2 inches over ice. Some of it has melted already and the roads are dry.

I did have fun last week with my cousin. We went to IHOP and then some grocery shopping. I know that sounds boring, but when we get together, we just laugh the whole time. She is like my little sister. I'm glad I have her to play with now that she is retired.

Speaking of that snow: my son & daughter-in-law got pretty well blasted out in the Hamptons. She isn't due for another month. Hopefully, when she does go into labor, the roads will be fine! I can't believe these California kids love the weather! My son posted some beautiful pictures of the beach today - blue sky and the snow just made it look like a white sand beach! Thankfully my son works from home and won't travel until well after the baby arrives. Whew!

Sounds like you have a plan regarding your summer swimming!

minniecarousel, I can't believe anyone likes snow! LOL I hate the stuff. Now we're supposed to get freezing rain tonight and snow showers tomorrow morning. Now that just can't happen. I have to have my pancakes tomorrow morning! I will definitely have to bring this up at the next board meeting.

Oh I have no idea how to get back my title under my name. You can see how tech savvy I am. Tech Support isn't working. I like the old way better. At least I understood that one.

I really don't like the new board. It's so confusing. I don't have my tags anymore and I really miss them. Also no more email alerts. I want the old board back!

Mary, go up to the top where you see your screen name. Go to personal details. Where you see "custom title" you can put your tag.

And you can add any picture you have on your computer as your avatar. Click on your name, on the top upper right, then click on "Avatar" from the drop down menu.

Thanks, snappyd and debknight. I don't remember all of my tag. All I can remember is "likes to dance in golden sunlight" There was more but can't remember what it was. I'll have to think of something else to put there, but those were given to me by the Tag Fairy and they were very special to me.

I think you had one that said "But I LIKE boring!" and "Likes to dance in golden sunbeams", "Knows too many details about Gnarf, Fnarfle, Grotchy and Ronkle....yep, she needs help!! "

Oh Thank you snappyd. The last two were given by the Tag Fairy and I just put that last one up. I think I will add those last two back if I can.

And if you click on your name and go down to where it says "avatar" you can put in any picture you want from your computer. Click on "choose file".

Thanks snappyd. I will try and get a picture up soon. I tried to list my older tags but they only allow 50 characters now. I guess I'll just keep the one I have.

Angel, where have you been? I haven't posted lately either, hope you are ok!!!

Sorry my friends. I have been awol the last couple of weeks. We've had so much snow and I'm really TIRED of winter. Just the blahs. Then I have been babysitting for both Jesse and then Zoey getting the stomach flu. We're very worried about Zoey getting exposed to strep again. She had such a terrible time last spring with so much pain. Luckily she feels much better today.

I have been going out with my cousin on Fridays for pancakes and grocery shopping and doing a lot of laughing. We went to see 50 Shades of Grey. We both loved it and it's done well. It's not going to win any academy awards but I thought they did a great job of keeping with the book.

Yesterday Karen's Grandmom passed away. Another reason to hate February. Yesterday was Karen's mom birthday and a day of remembrance for Karen and the day my mom passed away 38 years ago. Karen was very close to her Grandmom. Last night she asked if I would go out with her to get some clothes for the funeral and to see 50 Shades. It was snowing up a storm this morning so she picked me up. Well, as you know, I'm quite the fruit loop and I had her laughing all morning. I let her torture me and got her laughing even more. It was just what she needed. She liked the movie too.

When she went home, she got the kids together and told them that great Grandmom was in Heaven. Jesse said, "that means she passed, doesn't it?" He gave mommy a hug and said he would really miss her. Zoey gave mommy her bunny to hold and gave her a hug too.

Joan called tonight and said she can't go out with me because her sons' girlfriend's grandmom had passed, so she will be going to that funeral tomorrow. I need to go out a get a few things and then I will come home. Saturday I will be going to the funeral with Chuck and Karen. The kids will stay with a friend. I will be really glad when we get done with February and all this snow and no sun.

Thanks for thinking of me snappyd.

Please send Karen my condolences. I never knew my grandparents, they all passed away before I was born. I lost my Mom when I was 39, I've often wondered what it was like to be an adult and still have a mother and grandmother.

I'm with you, can't wait to say goodbye to February. I strained my back shoveling last weekend, I'm done with winter! We are heading 'down' to NJ this weekend, getting our taxes done tomorrow. Going shopping, hoping to eat at TGIF tomorrow night (our bonus bites expire tomorrow) and then back to NY on Sunday.

DH has been working overtime and we are TIRED! Can't wait for a vacation!

Stay warm and keep in touch. Hope the kids make it through the rest of winter with no more sniffles. hugs!

Ah, sorry to hear of the loss of Karen's grandmother. I love that Jesse "got it". He's growing up!

I would like to cheer you up: my NY grandchild was born yesterday! Jackson Nicholas! We are so thrilled that mother & baby are doing well. He is truly a miracle baby. We fly out on the red-eye on St Patrick's Day to meet him. Can't wait!

Oh! Congratulations! I love the name!

Big congratulations minniecarousel. That is a very strong name. Perfect for a miracle baby.

We have decided on a date for our Dollywood vacation. It will be the 8th of May until the 16 or 17th. I'm REALLY looking forward to it.

Yes, Jesse is growing up and doing so much better. He moved up in swim team to a higher group. He got 1st place in one of the meets and broke his own record by 4 seconds. His teacher is very impressed with his progress this year. Right now he is learning EVERYTHING he can about dinosaurs on his own. Ron and I were rock collectors when were first married and we have a few pieces of dinosaur bone. I showed him one piece and he was thrilled. I told him if he is still interested in 10 years, I will give it to him. LOL

Hello my friends. I thought I would stop by to say HI. We have all our plans for Tennessee made. We are going on May 8th. In addition to the Dixie Stampede and the theme park, we are going to visit three caves. One has a lake at the bottom and you go on a glass bottomed boat across. That really sounds wonderful. One morning, Chuck will take Jesse on a hike to a waterfall and Karen, Zoey and I will stay at the condo and go to the indoor pool. On another day, Karen and I will do some shopping and go to the Christmas store. They have two floors I think of just Christmas ornaments. I love it there. We may go to the sock store too. We both have a passion for socks. I have four drawers full of everyday socks, one drawer of Christmas socks and one drawer full of other holiday socks. Me obsessed?? Perish the thought.

I hope everyone is doing well.
