Angelrose's Journey

Oh minniecarousel, I'm sorry to hear that your son and daughter in law have pneumonia. That is dangerous.

I'm glad you have Ben to hold. It's a shame he is sick too. Being with Grandmom has to help!

How wonderful that your daughter in law is doing so well with her pregnancy. Being in the Bahamas will be wonderful.

Hello my friends. I had a busy day yesterday. I was up at 6 and couldn't get back to sleep. I got up and puttered around until it was time to leave to get my hair done. I always have a lot of fun with my girlfriend. We have know each other for decades. She lost her husband a few years before I lost mine. We always find something to laugh about anyway. I tell her how I want her to style my hair and she says "sure". Then does what she wants. :rotfl: It always turns out great so I have no complaints.

I left there and went right over to Chuck's. Nobody was there, so I let my self in and started to read. A few minutes later Karen arrived and told me to hurry and eat my lunch and to please get something for Zoey to eat too. She was going to get a shower and then we were going to leave to pick up Jesse at his Saturday school for advanced children. He is doing science this year.

Then we drove to Storybook Land for an afternoon of fun with Karen's friend Jill and the three children she is mentoring. Two boys and one little girl. The youngest boy was Zoey's age, the girl was a little older than Zoey and the oldest boy was around 9. They all had a wonderful time trick or treating and going on the rides. The adults just walked and walked and walked some more. We did the corn maze and found all the parts of the puzzle.

We left there a little after 5 when it closed. Karen had made meatballs and sausage in homemade sauce. I was in heaven. I had around 10 meatballs (they were small) in a bowl of sauce. I didn't have any of the spaghetti. Even though I am Italian, I just don't care for spaghetti. I did have a nice hunk of bread to sop up that sauce. It was a wonderful day, but I was so tired and my ankle was hurting, my right knee and hip were aching and I was ready for a hot bubble bath and bed.

Today I did a bit of grocery shopping, one load of wash and a bit of cooking. The rest of the day I spent in my recliner watching tv. I think I'm all rested up for the next week.

Hello ladies! We had a great trip, the weather was beautiful.

However, when it was time to fly home the weather up here was very bad. This was last Wed. When we got to the airport our flight was cancelled. :faint: We were supposed to fly out at 2:15. They re-booked for for 7:20. That flight was delayed til 10:30! We finally got home at 2AM. My husband slept for 2 hours and then had to get up for work at 4:30AM. I don't know how he did it, I'm still tired!!!

Finally finished all the unpacking and sorting what goes back to the country house. I sometimes think I should just stay home, lol ;)

Welcome back snappyd. Sorry you had that bad experience with your flight home.

Now if you stayed home you wouldn't have all the wonderful experiences you have had or the great fun. Enjoy every minute of your vacations.

So it looks like I may have pneumonia now. I have never had chills/fever/cough like this before. So my doctor gave me a breathing treatment, antibiotics & 2 different inhalers. They did a chest X-ray, but I don't think treatment will be any different. I cough so much that my sides hurt! Thankfully, my daughter-in-laws' sister is available to watch little Ben. I just hope hubby doesn't get this now.

Oh minniecarousel, I'm so sorry to hear that. Sending you a little prayer that you will get better soon. Just get lots of rest.

Oh no, get well soon. There seem to be so many things going around lately, and it's not even flu season yet! :scratchin

Hey - got the results for the chest x-Ray & it's not pneumonia! I feel a lot better. The fever seems to have broken. Ahhhh...feeling better. (Still coughing up junk though - yuk!)

Happy Halloween everyone!! :joker:

AR, bet Storybook Land was fun w/Jesse n Zoey and all the Halloween activities :)! I love Fall and all it brings! Earlier in month we did the Pumpkin Farm n corn maze w/sweet grands, tonight we're tagging along w/them for TorT'ing. :goodvibes

Back from our wonderful foliage cruise - seas were rockin' n rollin' :boat:, but we had a fun time w/all ship's activities to keep us busy. We did interesting excursions at each port...Portland/Bar Harbor, Maine, were chilly, windy n rainy :guilty:, however St John's, New Brunswick, n Halifax, Canada, warm n sunny making for lots of beautiful photos :sunny:! Absolutely :lovestruc 'Peggy's Cove' and enjoyed a fun picnic of fish/chips/warm gingerbread...as we sat amongst the huge rocks, over looking lighthouse and blue ocean cove.

snapppyd, good you had a nice trip to country, sorry about the plane delay. Know that can take it's toll! :(

minniecarousel, Congrats on the upcoming expected blessing :cloud9:. So glad to hear you don't have pneumonia! Hope lil Ben, you and everyone are having a successful recovery. So much sickness going around...crossing my fingers... thankfully thus far we've been lucky.

Everyone stay safe n well! :grouphug:

Hello my friends. I had a fun Halloween. I dressed up in one piece pj's that were Minnie Mouse. They were huge on me, but it was what I could find. It was nice and warm too. I was sitting outside at Karen's friends house giving out the candy. I had a Tinkerbell blanket on my knees and a nice warm furry coat. I enjoyed seeing all the little kids. There were quite a few Elsa's of course, but there were a lot of other costumes as well.

Here is a picture of Karen, Chuck and me, the Jesse is partly hidden and Zoey in the front. The other two boys were the friends kids. They all had a wonderful time.

When Chuck came downstairs with that mustache I almost peed myself laughing. He looked like the Frito Bandito. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Here is a better picture of Jesse with his costume on from school.

Now that Halloween is over, I've started decorating the house for Christmas. It just takes me so long to do it. I decorate every room in the house. Bedroom and bathrooms included. I should be done by the end of this coming week. Then I have to wait for Chuck to come and put up my tree. That will take another week to get that all decorated.

Then I can get to my baking for Christmas. Then the wrapping of presents and the cards. Not many of them anymore. Just about twenty.

So cute to see you all get dressed up for Halloween, AR! Your Grands are at such a great age for Trick-or-Treating.

This past week has been rough. Our daughter-in-law's (Ben's mommy) dad passed away last Sunday. He had been in Assisted Living because of advanced Parkinson's. They had him moved to a Hospice House & he didn't last for even a day there. To make matters even worse, an employee at the AL facility went into his locked room after he was moved and stole his wallet. My son had set up a DropCam a few days earlier because they were concerned with some of the care he was receiving there. Needless to say, she was arrested and his wallet (minus any cash) was recovered at her home.
I'm glad I'm feeling better because I've watched Ben for part of each of the last nine days. I still take 2 hour naps when I can. I've got tomorrow off, then we're back to our routine on Monday. My husband will be on a business trip next week, so bedtime will probably be by nine every night!

Thanks minniecarousel. We had so much fun.

Please give my condolences to your daughter in law on the loss of her father.

Glad you are feeling better and taking those naps are the best thing you can do.

I remember when I was taking care of Jesse when he was 3 months old. I took a nap whenever I could.

We took our Christmas pictures today. It was chilly out but we were out there with just sweaters on. It was a lot of fun and the photographer did a great job. I can't wait to get them so I can post them. We did silly hats this year. I'm proud to say mine was the silliest. Was there ever a doubt?? :rotfl:

Just popping in to say hi and bye! We have been spending more time in the country, where I have no internet access.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!! (mine starts tonight) pixiedust:

Hi and Bye right back snappyd. Hope you have a wonderful time.

Jesse's birthday party was a big success. He had three friends on a sleep over. Glad I wasn't there for that. :rotfl: It was nice seeing Karen's grandmother and her aunt again. Her grandmother is 86 and still very spry. I hope I can be that spry when I'm her age. Who am I kidding, I'm not that spry now.

I have been having hip issues and knee issues. I finally went to the Rothman Institute. They took x rays and my right hip is practically bone on bone. I thought he would give me a shot or cortisone. But they don't do that anymore. He gave me a shot of some steroid and lidocane. He froze the spot first so I didn't feel anything but pressure. The steroid take longer to take affect but lasts longer. I was there on Monday (in the pouring rain) and I have relief today. No pain when I walk. Now if they can take care of my knee the same way, I can get back the 10,000 steps again. That would be awesome.

I finished decorating the house and have put up the tree and decorated it. Chuck has to do the very top, but other than that, it is done except for all the decorations under the tree.

I only have two more gifts to buy and I'm done. Time to get started with the baking. I'll post a picture of my silly hat as soon as I get them.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all my dear friends here. I am so grateful for all your love and support these past 5 years.

Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Angelrose, Godspeed you and yours to have a blessed Thanksgiving :flower3:. Hope your hips n knees are doing better. Know you'll have a great holiday with your family and sweet grands, as your dear Ron smiles from above how far you've come and proud how well you are doing.

DD2 is hosting for both sides of family today :goodvibes. Our DD3/family are in from NC, DGS3 in from S.C., so good times this week w/family, specially our grands. :lovestruc

Sadly, my first TG'ing w/o my dear Mom :sad1:. I'm trying hard to keep busy and count my many blessings. So thankful my family and faith will help fill the huge void and hopefully carry me through.

Wishing all have blessed Thanksgiving! :grouphug:

4nana - those "firsts" are always tough. I hope you had a nice day with your family.

Angelrose - I should have known that your house is finished being decorated. I can see that you love the holidays!

We won't put up our tree until we get back from Disneyland on Dec.15. We don't want to leave the cat home alone to chew on the lower branches.

We had my family here today. I think there were 26 of us. We eat early so I was in my bubble tub at 5pm. Now watching the 49er game, eating pie & drinking wine!

Thank you 4nana. It sounds like you had a great day with your family. I know how hard it is the first holiday with a loved one. You will get through it with the help of your family.

You got that right minnircarousel. I love decorating my house for all the holidays. I still have a couple of ideas that I want to think through before going to the craft store. I will need some styrofoam and some flowers. I already have a nice red basket that I want to use. I will checking it out on Saturday.

I had a wonderful time with the family and playing with the grands all day to keep them from disturbing the adults while they decorated the tree. I am exhausted. We had a wonderful dinner and I watched the kids put their own ornaments on the tree. I finally had to leave around 6:30. My hip seems to be better, but now both knees are complaining, plus my back. I need a new body. Anyone know where I can purchase one??

Tomorrow we are going to Bob's garden center. They have an awesome Christmas display. Lots of rooms with all kinds of different ornaments, angels, Santas, elves and anything else you can think of. It's a tradition with us that we go out on Black Friday to go here. It just gets the Christmas season off to a great start.

I did find some perfect flowers for my red basket. I'm proud of the way it came out. I've been very busy baking pumpkin oat bread, cinnamon almonds and pecans, 5 minute fudge and turtles. I make all of those for four people. I love doing it and I get to sample everything but the fudge wreath.

I am getting my hair done Saturday. We were going to take the kids to Storybook Land but it's supposed to rain all day so I guess that gets cancelled.

Jesse had half day tomorrow, so I will be there from 1 until 4:30 when Chuck gets home. We will get his homework done and then it's sword fighting in the basement again.
