Angelrose's Journey

Hey Chell thank you!
It was HUGE!!! Most definetly..but you know, I think I was prepared to not like it and at the end of the cruise, I really did. There's enough to do without ever leaving the ship but still lovely tranquil spots to be found. Amazing piece of engineering...

You can also enjoy a good book too Angelrose...Perfect time to lose yourself in one.

Welcome back minnie56. So glad you enjoyed your cruise.

I have a new book already to be read once I get on the plane. I'm thinking it will make the 2 hours go by quickly.

I have a week to go and I'm already so excited. This time next week, I will probably be in my room getting ready for bed. Rain is forecast for the next day though. Of well, we will deal whatever comes. 6 days 14 hours, 40 minutes to go.

So glad you ended up enjoying the cruise!

Angelrose what resort are you staying at? I don't remember. I hope they weather forecast changes and you don't get any rain! We are taking out the suitcases this weekend. I just paid off the hotel about 30 minutes ago. I still think you need to just stay there until we get there and stay there and enjoy it with us. ;)

Thank you!! Yes, I did enjoy. Now it's your turn! You are both off soon...I often think the planning and anticipation is the best part of a holiday!

I wouldn't pay too much attention to the weather forecast Angelrose-when are they ever right?!?

Planning is SO much fun! Most of the people around here just don't get that.

We booked dinner at Victoria & Albert's. We have extra money since the boys aren't going. I've wanted to eat there since I first learned about it. Larry & I are both very excited to try it. They don't even mind adjusting the meal to all of my food no-nos. :woohoo:

Ohhh that's great!! You will have to tell us all about it..I have stayed at the GF but not yet eaten there..sounds so lovely. Enjoy!:)

Thanks! I sure will. We will have to take picutres too. We had almost 6,000 on our Honeymoon last year. No telling how many we will come back with this year. Larry has been named our official photographer. Now that he knows what WDW is and what it is all about he may take tons more pictures. That's fine with me.

Yes planning is so exciting. I've been planning this trip since the last time Ron and I went two years ago. We missed last year because of the economy. Now I am going for both of us.

I would love to stay an extra two or three weeks chell, but until I get that visit from Publishers Clearing House, I will have to be content with 10 days. LOL

We are staying at the All Star Movies Resort. The first time for me.

I got my hair done today. I was hoping that the rain would hold off until this afternoon, but it was raining when I got up this morning. It ALWAYS rains when I get my hair done. I got to her house and gave her some of the candy that I made and she was very happy with it. I also gave her a Jim Shore birthday Angel. She has the same birth month that I do, May. She was thrilled with it. We had a nice visit while she was doing my hair and I left a little after 10. I knew Chuck would be waiting for me at home. Now I have driven to her house for over 20 years so I KNOW the way. Somehow I got distracted and must have missed my turn because all of a sudden I didn't know where I was. I panicked. I have absolutely NO sense of direction. I can get lost in a closet. I made one turn back and then another and finally found a street that I recognized and I was fine from there on. I just told Chuck that I got behind some slow drivers. I was too embarrassed to tell him I got lost. He had already put away my lawn mower and was draining the pool cover and the pool. In the rain. When I got my coat off, we went up to Ron's computer room and started taking down his action figures for Toys for Tots. Chuck had brought this HUGE cardboard box and he filled it to the brim. And we still have plenty for next year too. A lot of little boys will be very happy this Christmas thanks to my Ron. He would be so happy to know that.

The temperature has dropped to 34 and it is freezing rain out there now. Oh GOODY! We expect about an inch of this stuff by morning. My sweet Karen called tonight and asked if I wanted her to pick me up tomorrow instead of me driving to her house. OH YES! I probably won't get to see Jesse tomorrow, but I don't like to drive in rain much less freezing icy stuff. She is always so thoughtful.

Thank you!! Yes, I did enjoy. Now it's your turn! You are both off soon...I often think the planning and anticipation is the best part of a holiday!

I agree about the planning part. DH always says that I have more fun planning than on the vacation. And I think I do.

Angelrose, when in May is your birthday? Mine is May 31st.

Hello, my friends!

I'm sorry I've not been around in awhile - had a lot of catching up to do! ::yes::

Angelrose, your visit to Mickey is just a few days away now!! I am so excited for you. I know it is going to be a special visit with Jesse - so many new and wonderful memories to be made!

My first trip back to WDW was 2 years after my Toby passed and it brought back the feeling of being in a bubble - it felt so unreal - but Toby made sure I knew he was with me..."Over the Rainbow" would be playing in places I'd never heard it before at WDW...even at our resort! I know Ron will be with you, and treasured memories will become even more special.:goodvibes

It had to be difficult to part with Ron's action figures - how sweet to give them to Toys for Tots. It sure is wonderful to think of how happy it will make some little boys this Christmas.:grouphug:

Cannot remember if I've been here since my trip was cancelled - my friend had to cancel. Although I tried to find a value resort available for my dates and joined the solo thread, did not really want to go alone. WDW alone is not at all appealing to me - would make me sad, not happy.

Chell, your trip is coming up too! I am so darned excited Angelrose and you, and can hardly wait to hear all about both trips!

I love the planning too and can hardly wait until Sophia is old enough!
:goodvibes

I remember we went to WDW and stayed at the GF for the Millenium New Years....we booked it 10 years , yup, 10 years ahead! How crazy...the planning was huge..we covered every detail. Once it came..firstly hubby had the flu and it just could not possibly live up to all those years of planning! Almost a let down in some ways.. So I think I am with you reelmom on that one!

Oh Minnie&Nana, that is such a shame that you had to cancel. Have you rescheduled for another date? It's such a Magical place but I am not sure I would love it alone either?

Angelrose indeed, some children will be thrilled with Ron's treasures...they will live on and be well played with all over again!

It must be so hard to go to Disney when it has been a place where you always enjoyed with a loved one but that's almost why you need to go back? They would want you to keep up the tradition, relive some memories and make new ones..that you heard your song Minnie&Nana is a prefect indication that our beloved ones do go back with us..that's you feeling him there. Angelrose will feel her Ron there too... It's the little things that let us know..

Minnie56 - I am so sorry I forgot to welcome you back from your cruise!! I see that you enjoyed it after all -wonderful! No cruises for me - terrified of all that deep water. How does one forget how to swim anyway?? :rotfl:

OMGosh...I love, love, love the GF. Have had 2 perfect stays there, but now, even with a 40% code, it would be a splurge I just could not bring myself to do - although have been very tempted. ;) I would never have expected that I had more expendable money for vacations when the children were young than I do now alone. :confused3 Life is chock full of surprises!;)

Maybe I'll find a friend who enjoys WDW and can get away for a long weekend now and then. :goodvibes My non-Disney friends (everyone lol) think I'm nuts for wanting go without children. Geesh, have they no magic in their hearts??

p.s. No trip scheduled yet...if no possibility arises, always have Sophia's first trip to look forward to ...in 3 years! How I wish we could still book as far out as years ago...like your 10 year plan! Although, I do know what you mean about over planning...plan, but be flexible and more likely to have lots of magical moments!

I did enjoy Minnie&Nana! Would you believe that I too am so scared of deep water too? Have to be able to touch the bottom even in a pool! The Ships today...wow..they are like a floating Hotel. You have to go to look for the water!!;)

It is all about Magic isn't it? It's my favourite place..I restore my soul at Disney.

Beautifully said...and so true!

It was a wonderful thing for you to give the figures to Toys for Tots. There will be lots of happy children thanks to Ron & you.

Yeah, I know what you mean about needing the Publisher's Clearing House to pay a visit to stay that long. It would just be so much fun.

Christine I'm sorry you had to cancel your trip. We still need to meet up.

Minnie56 I'm so glad to hear they are like floating hotels. I'm taking that cruise in April and I don't want to feel like I'm in the water. I don't want to get sick.

Oh yes! They are indeed...so lovely. Tell me again what cruiseline and where you are going? Was it Disney?
We are going on a cruise next month too..first time in a long time all the family! My DH can so seldom come and seems the girls have been in school at the times we have thought about it so the prices were $$$$. My youngest DD is off from her College in NYC until Jan 25 so this year-it fell into place! My sister and her husband are even joining us from Scotland!

I have been covering up some of the all-weather wicker furniture outdoors..I know--it IS all weather but still, I don't trust it LOL...it's getty frosty out there! Just when I thought maybe Old Man Winter just might be nice to us..I don't think so. :sad2:

Burr! I bet you are cold! I don't blame you for covering it. The elements aren't always friendly, even if it says all-weather.

I'm going on the VH1 Best Cruise ever. I think it is a Carnival cruise. Actually, I'm pretty sure that's who it is through. This will be my first cruise.

Exactly..DH thinks I am crazy but we can have some nasty winters! The last 2 have been horrible..

That will be so much fun Michelle! Woner what Ship you are on..you will love cruising!

When are you off to WDW? I know Angelrose is first..then you...

I want to go! My DH is off to San Diego tomorrow on business and I came SO close to going with my DD just so we could visit Disneyland. Haven't been in years.....

I'm not sure which ship. I simply can't remember.

We leave Dec. 31. I'm working that day, then we fly down. HS is open until 3 am that night so we may go into a park after all. We were afraid we wouldn't be able to get into one, but we may at least try that one. I'm so excited!

We were going to get out the suitcases today but we haven't yet. I've been too lazy. All of the toiletries all packed though! :cool1: We do need to buy new toothbrushes. They need to be replaced on the 1st so I figure I may as well put the new ones in the travel bags.

You should have gone!

Your cruise sounds like it is going to be so much fun, especially with your sister.
