Angel Tree Gifts

I'm so glad to hear all of you helping out the Salvation Army. Each year our family volunteers for a shift for them. The three previous years we were bell ringers but this year we staffed the Angel Tree booth. It was a terribly depressing experience! People would not even look at us and no one stopped our entire shift. As DD18 looked over the tree she found a little girl who only wanted a Hannah Montana doll. Well as huge WDW fans how could we resist her?:rotfl: We had a great time picking out just the right Hannah and some Disney Princess coloring stuff. There are so many in need this year its important that we all try and help each other out!

I get my tags through work. The organization is similar to the angel tree program. My little guy this year wanted trucks and a sweatsuit. I usually try and spend about $30 and usually get a clothing item and toy. This year I got a great CARS outfit at Kmart and toy nice trucks. We are to wrap the gifts and tie them or put them in a bag together. In a year or two when my son is old enough to understand we will start letting him pick out the stuff.

Hello everyone... I appreciate all of the feedback and ideas for other great organizations that we can give to. It sounds like even though the Angel Tree is a nationwide thing, it's done differently in each community. Ours list three or four toys that the child would like, plus shirt, pant and shoe sizes, but it also says that there should be a $30 value limit for the gift. Obviously, I'm expected to choose among the items on the card and not expected to purchase everything. I think I'll go with my initial reaction and buy one thing off each card.
