Just got my phone a few days ago and i am in love  still getting to know the phone and would love some info about it. Please share tips, tricks, and good apps to download.
TIA

When in doubt, long hold :lmao:. If you are trying to figure out something, a long hold on a widget or whatever usually pops up a screen with info to delete or whatever.

Do a search for Droid Apps here-there is a longish thread with a lot of good suggestions on that.

I was one who said I don't see the need for a smartphone. Well we just upgraded to smartphones! I got the droid x and love it! Be sure to get the angry birds app! You will be addicted! I also downloaded a disney wait time app, trip advisor app, a grocery shopping app, flashlight app, pacman app, BBC news, among others.

Hands down, my favorite app is my grocery shopping app. It allows me to keep my grocery list right on my phone. I was notorious for leaving my grocery list at home. Well, not any more! Plus, I can hit the mic button and tell the phone what I need for groceries. I don't even have to type it out! That goes for text messages too!

Also, I can use my phone as a kindle device too! I love it.:thumbsup2

Grocery IQ - lets my hubby and I add stuff to the grocery list and then they both sync up together. Also you can sort by the grocery store you go to the most and have the list arranged by aisle. LOVE this app.

Kindle - MUST have!

And as the pp said, Angry Birds is a MUST. Also get Angry Birds - Seasons

Grocery IQ is the one I use. Isn't it the greatest! I thought of a couple of others. ShopSavvy Barcode, Google goggles and google sky map are some other cool ones.

It really is! When we run out its just so easy to barcode scan the items and then add them to the new list right then! I NEVER forget items now!

I've downloaded these free apps on my Motorola Backflip since getting my phone in October. Some are practical, some are just plain fun.

Barcode Scanner - price checks and compares prices on items
Bic Concert Lighter ;)
Buddy the Elf soundbites
Classic Simon
Color Note - notepad
Dropwords - Boggle-like game
Eat This (Not That) - scan barcode and it tells you if it's a good choice
GasBuddy
Google Sky - see the stars any time of day
Jeff Dunham soundbites
Out of Milk - shopping list keeper
Ride Hopper Lite - see wait time for various amusement and themeparks
Thermometer - tells you the temperature of your phone
Trism - Tetris game

I also have a couple of apps for e-books and have downloaded some classics that were free.

I just downloaded Grocery iQ! Can't wait. I've been using the "note pad" and can't wait to try this.

I love how my husband can now share my calendar. He's aware of our kids activities and why I seem so stressed with work too! :lmao:

Love Angry birds & Kindle Ap! Also my weight watchers, paswoodholder, and games for the kids. SO many free Aps!

I have Look Out on mine. I tend to misplace my phone and this is great. It's like a little pager device.

Advanced task killer is key. Saves some time on your battery.

Scan Life is cool. You can scan the bar code of something and it tells you if it cheaper some where else. If the store will price match it saves you driving across town.

I also like the speak to text feature-for texting, NotePad, emails, etc. :thumbsup2
