It might be different for you since my DD was only 2 at the time (now 3) She loves Wishes fireworks at Magic Kingdom and so do I. Since your kids are a little older they might like Fantasmic! at DHS.

We also like the Spectromagic parade at MK. It is a night parade. Every float and character in the parade has lights all over them. They are colored, then they all switch to white. It is really cool!

Your kids might like Block Party Bash at DHS. When we saw it we were right in front of the trampolines. They were doing some really cool flips & jumps.

I'm extremely partial to the SpectroMagic Parade at the MK!! We have the CD soundtrack and Billy loves to listen to it in the car. I think its the kids' favorite parade, too, probably because of all the lights.

We've yet to see Block Party Bash at DS, but I suspect that will be the favorite daytime parade! We are all big Pixar fans. It sounds like the trampoline jumping will be a big hit as well!

I found it quite helpful in some aspects. I liked the insight on the motion sickness and the scare factor info. It definetly had lots of information about the rides and shows.

Just wanted to say hello to all the Moms & families who will be going to FL on your MAW trips....you are going to have a FABULOUS time. I have been volunteering with MAW for about 4-5 years now (have lost track it has been so fun) and have had the pleasure of visiting GKTW Village as well as helping parents know about Disney/Universal & Sea World (I am kind of a back seat trip planner). Enjoy your time there (both in the actual parks and at the Village - that place is SOOO COOL!!!).

Hi Diane, I am a frequent lurker on Wish threads. We have a niece who was on a wish trip a couple of years ago, so I find I'm drawn to these families.

We also have a son with ADHD and I find mousescrappers posts really helpful for hints and tips for him. I'm looking forward to following your thread as you begin the exciting planning of Andrea's wish trip.

DS was diagnosed this year with ADHD and since that time DH thinks he has spent his life with it undiagnosed.

How old is your son? I live with three that have ADHD. My son was diagnosed at age 7 and my dh was diagnosed 2 years ago. He was diagnosed then because I forced him to get tested, because my son and him are so alike. Then my son was diagnosed with Asperger's at age 8 and my dh also has Aspergers, once again after more testing. My dd has ADHD, anxiety issues, and her heart condition.

Hope your son is doing well with his ADHD.

Hi Kathy,

So far we haven't made any final plans. I need to call GKTW and ask when we can do our orientation since we arrive a day earlier. We are thinking of the following:
Sunday June 7 - arrive do Downtown Disney and relax
Monday June 8 - Universal
Tuesday Epcot or Magic Kingdom
Weds? - maybe a day at GKTW or Cape Canaveral
Thursday - Sea World
Friday - Either Epcot or Magic Kingdom
Saturday - Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios
Sunday - do not know yet

I have ordered maps from Disney. I can't wait to get them.

I have my rain ponchos, Earplanes for my son, need to find another pair for my daughter, earplugs, bandaids, swimsuits for me, ds, and dd. We each have a couple of new shirts. I need to find an Aerial or Tinkerbell shirt for dd., I also need to find a Jack Skelenton shirt for my son that isn't black to hot for Florida son.

I found the huge packing list I will go through that soon an start a clothes basket for packing items.

I continue to enjoy the pre-trip reports and trip reports.

Will update more plans soon.

We've ordered our maps but had to have them sent to my parents' in Tampa since they won't ship to Canada. I'm hoping they will arrive there before they leave to come home in a couple of weeks. So far, no confirmation that they have been sent yet.

Woo Hoo -your trip sounds like so much fun!!!

I was wondering if your DS had occupational therapy for his sensory issues. If so, maybe they could come up with a few sensory strategies for in the parks to keep him from getting overloaded. Disney is so full of every sensory experience- visual, auditory, vestibular, even different smells!!!!! I hope you have a WONDERFUL TIME!!!

Do they have wheelchairs at GKTW village that you can borrow? I was just thinking there is alot of walking around in inbetween places - parking lots etc.....

Hi there! Just found your thread. and your kids are so darling! I too have a child with Asperger's Syndrome. She is seven. We learned alot of tricks for going to Disney with her. PM me if you would like any helpful tips. There is also a few great threads for Disney with Kids with Autism.
