*I have to apologize for a dearth of pictures on this update. It was raining. Getting the camera out was hard, and also dangerous to the camera's life.
Ponchos on ($4 ones, from Wal-Mart. Where I tend to NOT shop, but Target didn't have enough...), baggalini on board (making me look particularly like a nice blue hunchback

) we headed off to the park bus stop at AKL.
For some reason, it didn't strike me as being as far as I remembered. I still don't know why - they have not changed it - but hey. Better is good.
We were down there by about 11:30, and had relatively no wait for an MK bus.
We arrived at MK in decent time. I sent D & the boys through the "guests with no bags" line, whilst I tried to extract myself from the Baggalini without getting too wet. I now probably LOOKED like I was wrestling an octopus under the poncho - fun!
We asked the boys about their first ride of the year. In the pouring rain, why, it's Splash Mountain!
We walked on - no wait at all - then headed for BTMRR. It's kind of cool in the rain! Again, a walk-on.

So we'd been in the park for about 20 minutes and walked back to Frontierland and done two rides. Score!
Maybe this Fay thing won't be so bad after all...
We were all a little hungry - breakfast had been several hours away back at the airport - and so we decided to hit Pecos Bill's. It's not my fave, but it's got good kid options on the
DDP, so in we went.
I think Buzz had a "cheeseburger with no cheese" (I don't know where I went wrong with this kid...) and Woody had a cheeseburger. D had something - a taco salad, I think. I had the veggie burger.
Despite the "wheatish" buns (I, like many others, like wheat buns, but these are just weird) we had a good lunch. The veggie burger was probably kind of blah, but I topped with grilled mushrooms, and possibly some cheese sauce...

and it was fine. In true good DIS fashion, we entered from the Frontierland side, and had NO line, whilst the lines on the side coming in from the Adventureland tunnelish area were huge.
Buzz, as I mentioned, is a tad more timid on rides. He was happy enough to do Spl. Mtn. and BTMRR, but those had been Woody's picks. I asked Buzz what HE wanted to do next.
"The Tiki Room".
Huh? How does he even KNOW about this?
But, OK.
No wait, right into see the birds.
I hadn't seen it since it was "under new management" and it was cute enough, and hey, it wasn't raining inside!
Next up, my fave, PotC.
I know the ride's not that exciting, even with the additions. But something about that weird coolness, and musty smell, just says "Disney" to me.

I LOVED the ride at DLR growing up going to my aunt's house, and I just love it.
And we sing.
Since we were over that way, we wanted to do HM. When we were there in May last year, it had not yet been updated. I had talked it up big to my kids as being "silly, not scary", citing the line of "happy haunts" for back-up.
I was excited to see the changes, and they were subtle enough that the kids still weren't scared, but enough to make me happy that they'd done something.
We were commandoing, and with NO lines, so we just headed on to Fantasyland.
They both wanted to ride Pooh (that phrase just makes me giggle) and it was probably the longest line we'd seen all day. Here I am (covered queue, with a bit of time, so the camera came out) with my flat Focker friends:
Flat Katt is on your left, Flat Rachel on the right.
Here are the boys, all ponchoed up:
We then headed to Dumbo. I feel like I waited in line with them whilst D maybe went to the bathroom, but he joined us for the ride. Again, maybe it was a 15 minute wait, at 3:00 p.m. Not bad, not bad at all.
Dumbo is, however, not so much fun in the rain.
Still moving on, we hit Buzz's favorite ride, Buzz! (No wait!) I performed pathetically, but still won.
Next was a new ride for us, Astro Orbiter. I will say that I enjoyed it more than I figured on.
At this point, it was time to leave the park - we had to get our dinner on, people!
We stopped for a quick classic pic:
Hey, it must not have been raining so much - Woody's out of poncho!
And D likes to take crowd pictures, so:
Main Street at around 4:30 - unbelievable!
But before we go to dinner, let's recap: We were in the park for roughly 4 hours, and got all that done, plus lunch.

I am LIKING Fay!
Next up: Dinner with the big guy!
