I know it is still about 16 plus months away, but is anyone finishing the year out on DCL? My husband and I recently booked this cruise (we will also be on the 12/23). I hope to meet some fellow Diser's throughout the year!

Hi!!

I have not officially booked this cruise yet, but we are planning on being there. It will be myself, DH, DD (will be her 1st cruise and she will be 24 unbelievable, at that time) and my DM. DH, Mom and I were on a 4 night Bahama Memorial day cruise this year (celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary) and absolutely fell in love with the ship. I am really glad this one will also be on the Wonder!!

It will be great getting to know everyone who joins us. We had a great group on our May cruise.

Glad to see another family will be going! I will be 27 at cruise time, so your daughter will have at least on person around her age. Hopefully more will join soon. I have been getting some great ideas from the creativity thread, do our door will be really fun.

Thanks for the welcome. DD is really excited since it will be her first cruise.
I know I will have to come up with different ideas for our door since our last cruise they were anniversary related, but that will add to the excitement. I know how many will go on the door now. I had way way too many on the May cruise.
I will do our official booking sometime after we get back from our Mother/Daughter trip to WDW we have planned for Dec 1-10, and get the final plans done for a family vacation complete with the grandchildren to the World next August. We are DVC members and I need to verify points before I make the cruise reservation.
My Mom is very excited also. She really enjoyed our last cruise. I also think it will be neat to be on what should be the last (at least for a while) cruise that the Wonder will be on the East coast. It is supposed to relocate to LA the first part of 2011 from what I understand.
Since you are going to be on board for two weeks, have you ever done a cruise that long? Just curious? We are slowly working our way up on the length. At least you will get a small break when you come off one and get on the other.
As you said we hope others join us and it will be enjoyable talking to you over the year as we get ready for the cruise.

This will be our first B2B, but we love being onboard and are really anxious to be on the ship for two whole weeks. Trust me, you will want to do longer cruises soon enough! I hope you are well.

I have not booked yet, but we are all talking about it like we have. I finally got to talk to my DIL this last weekend and we think we have figured out a summer vacation that will work with all the school schedules and my DD camp work schedule. I have to wait til her camp puts the schedule of 2010 camps out which should be in Dec. We think we know which week she will have time off, but we want to be sure, plus I want to try to get us in VWL as our first choice and I have to wait for the 7 month mark (which is Dec) to book that reservation.

Since you have already booked, do you have a cabin number already?

We are all doing well, getting ready for the Labor Day holiday. Don't have anything special planned. Just hoping that DH gets the day off!!!

Sorry, but my husband and I will no longer be going on this cruise. We were able to book the PC repo. Because it is right after this one, we had to cancel (we can't take that much time off). But, I hope you have a great cruise!

It's always a bummer when life gets in the way of vacations!!

We still hope to go on this one. We are actively discussing it, just can't book until sometime in Dec. I have to work on a summer vacation for the grandkids and the cruise reservation have to be worked out together so that I keep my points straight.

Have a really good time and hopefully someone else will join this cruise in a few months.

just booked this today. got a pretty good deal for 4 people, and we got a secret porthole room!!!!!!!! yay!!!!!!

It'll be me, celebrating my birthday (which just happens to be on the 30th) and recent graduation from nursing school,my mom, my cousin celebrating her grad. from high school in May and my aunt.

absolutely can't wait and I hope others will join us!

Well, we are now officially booked. I finally got the summer vacation settled enough that I could go ahead and book the cruise. My mother is so looking forward to it. She is in chemo right now, so we are praying she gets her strength back by the end of the year!!

Hi Kathy!

I hope your mom is doing well and she has some strength for the cruise. It can be a nice relaxing vacation for her.

We are now getting over the upset of the 10 night cruise being cancelled and back into feeling excited over the cruise. Watching the airfare to get our tickets locked in. That makes it more real. This will be our 2nd cruise as a family, we did a Western DCL in October. The weather wasn't the greatest, but at least we had a great time.

Hopefully we will get more people joining this DIS meet.

Just three months til we take a quick trip to WDW with the grandchildren. This will let me know if I offer to do this again or not. There will be 12 of us in all (6 are the grandkids).

My Mom, DH and I were on the memorial day Wonder cruise last May celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We really enjoyed it. We are on Deck 6 again.

Congratulations on the 25th. This is our 25th anniversary year as well. We will be celebrating on the cruise as well as 2 birthday. At this point we are on Deck 7, but hoping our TA can get us a SPH room.

I know one of them is yours since you mentioned it in your first post, whose is the other one?

I knew when we went last time and got a verandah that we would probably love it and we did. So now my DH says that is the only way to go. He loves sitting there and just watching the ocean go by.

My DD8 will be turning 9 on the cruise. She is more than excited.

We had a Verandah on our last cruise (upgraded at the port), but honestly did not use it as much as we thought. Part of the problem was we had smokers on either side of us and when they were using it we were not able to and 2nd we just didn't spend that much time in the room.
So didn't want to pay the price for a verandah again, if we were moved to one than well okay

What I was bummed about is on the 10 day NYE cruise we had a SPH room and then when we moved to the 7 day after ours was cancelled we had to make another choice
