Your name or what you go by....Niky
State I reside in....Iowa
Traveling with....DD (15) and DS (13)
Land and sea or sea only.....Sea only. It's the last part of Christmas break for us. I'm a teacher and DD will be a sophomore with finals the week after we get back. As it is, we'll be missing the first couple of days back after break. I have NEVER taken the kids out of school for a vacation before, and I'm suffering a bit of guilt about it now.
Have you cruised before.....Nope. First for all of us too. Been dreaming about it ever since we got bitten by the "Disney Bug" a few years ago after our first trip to The World!
What will you celebrate......NYE definitely, and an early "Sweet 16" for DD15 whose b-day is in Feb. We've been to WDW twice near my son's b-day, so this will be her turn to celebrate!
Dressing up for pirate night......Depends on if I can talk the kids into it. They were really not into yet last summer when I convinced them to wear matching shirts, so not sure how much they'll cooperate this time. ;-)
Dressing up for semi and or formal night..... Possibly. DS is not excited about getting dressed up, but I would like for us to do so. (I copied your answer, because we are in the SAME boat here!)
Favorite character...Tink, Cinderella
Favorite Disney memory......Being with my kids at Magic Kingdom and watching Wishes for the first time. I got tears in my eyes for sure!
3 must do's...Not sure. This is all so new to us! But really hoping the weather will be warm enough for swimming at CC and sitting by the railing on deck for breakfast.
Time of dinner seating...Early
Coke, pepsi, or pina colada's... Diet Mt. Dew! But really looking forward to some of those "drink of the day" I've seen pics of!
Sun or shade...Both. As much sun as I can take, and then retreat to the shade. But, since we'll be coming from Iowa in winter, I am hoping to soak in some sun on this cruise. I'll have to post pics of our home from this past winter. You have to see it to believe it.
Morning or night person...Morning.
Last book read...All kinds of YA Literature--I teach 7th grade English.
Taking a book on the cruise...I read A LOT at home over summer break. But on vacation, I usually prefer to take in the sights around me instead. When reading, I get sucked into the story too much, and if I'm on a cruise or the beach, I don't want to miss a thing!
