We normally use Dollar but Thrifty are coming up £100 cheaper (through Netflights).

Any good or bad points we should be aware of before I book?

Do they use the same make of cars?

Hi. We've never used Thrifty however a couple of points for you to consider when booking. They are situated off-site, approx 5 minutes on a bus, next to Hertz and use mainly Chrysler cars.

Although we've not used Thrifty, we have used Hertz on more than one occasion and find getting the bus from the airport quick and easy so we'd say save the £100 and take the bus. :thumbsup2

Hi we used Thrifty for our carhire last week.

The car was great, we had a Dodge Charger and were given a choice of colours. The shuttle bus is very easy to use, it was waiting for us at the airport, it doesn't take long to get to the depot.

The collection was fine, the girl offered us upgrades but we were not hasstled and all the paper work was correct. We dropped it off at the Plazza
hotel on I drive instead of taking it back to the airport. You cant add an alternative drop off point on the netflight website( at least I didnt see it) , but if you ask when you collect the car it is available at no extra charge.

Just a word of warning (my DH got caught!!) they give you a voucher at the desk for a map from a counter of the opposite side of the office, it is a time share company who do give you the hard sell so just be warned about that!

Thanks for the info and the tip. We are booked with them for April and I was wondering how it was all gonna work out.

Is the bus to the depot easy to find? I assume it's just outside the level that the other car hire companies are on?

Also, did you have to pay for the tank of fuel? When we used Dollar in '07, they just told us to make sure the car was returned with a full tank.

Cheers :thumbsup2

If you go to the level with the carhire desks, there are signs telling you to go out the doors and look for the signs for your company. Thrifty was very easy to find.

We paid for the upgrade that gives you additional drivers and the fuel pre paid. For us it worked out cheaper as we had 2 drivers. We just took the car back empty.
