An Unforgettable Finish- Oct 2011 TR **Happily Ever After (Completed 5/3)

Hahaha, I read your update title, and I couldn't help but keep thinking of "when animals attack!" :rotfl2: I'm such a dork.

I am the worst at picking shoes that are good in rain. All of the flip flops I wear are a hazard to walk in if there's rain on the ground. I feel your pain completely.

Ohhh, the salmon from CHH is so good. But I liked the couscous and the broccoli. ;)

Oh no! That's just terrible about all the rain. I've been there - parked stroller with no cover, get off the ride & it's soaked! :sad2: And I'm sure the boys' bickering didn't help your mood. At least y'all were able to get to CHH before the rain started again. Even if your poor stroller got another soaking. I hope that was the last of the rain but I have a bad feeling it wasn't.

Note to self: Bring stroller cover & ponchos every day on our fall trip!

That's the first time that our stroller has ever gotten rained on while we were in an attraction! I really hope it was the last, too because it wasn't any fun dealing with a wet stroller. The boys' bickering did make it all worse, too. If they'd been happy and easygoing, it wouldn't have been so bad having them out of the stroller. I was so disappointed to see the stroller getting rained on again!

Definitely bring a stroller cover every day!

Ughhh...I remember thinking the same thing that week, how great the weather was and how lucky we were, and then on Friday and Saturday it poured enough to last a week! I was annoyed just being wet myself, I can't imagine how annoying it must be dealing with a soaking wet stroller!

Glad the boys had fun on Pirates, that's so funny about the pirate toes, so weird the things kids notice! :rotfl:

It's the worst having shoes that are not good in the rain at Disney...I love my Crocs, and even in the rain they are pretty good (unless you break the same fashion rule that I do and wear socks with Crocs-:scared1:) but if the bottom is worn down even a little, you will be sliding all over the place! That's why I buy a pair of new Crocs now before each trip...which reminds me, I have to buy a new pair before our next trip! :woohoo:

I would never think the Country Bears are inappropriate for children, and I'm a "yankee" (I can't capitalize that, sorry, that makes me think of the NY Yankees and I can't associate myself with them in any way, especially after what happened with them and my Red Sox yesterday...:furious:)! Although, I have a feeling I don't really agree with most people on what is and is not appropriate for children! :rotfl:

I'm sorry CHH wasn't that great! I don't know why they'd bother giving you something like couscous at a CS place, that seems strange to me! I guess they figure if you're ordering salmon you're trying to be healthy? :rotfl:

Ugh, more rain! It just rained on and off that day, so annoying! But Saturday was even worse!

I hated that it rained on our last two days. I know I should have been grateful that the weather was so nice every other day, but I'd almost rather have the two rainy days in the beginning of a trip than the end. The end is sad enough without rain, too. The wet stroller was the worst! I can deal with wet grown ups, but not a wet stroller.

Carter's very detail oriented and he notices the funniest things at Disney World. I know he's going to grow up and be a Disney person, too.

I've never had any trouble with Crocs being slippery in the rain, but then I don't know if I've ever worn Crocs in the rain too much. Carter loves wearing socks with Crocs, but I only let him do it for special occasions. Disney would count for sure! That'll be fun, to buy new Crocs for your trip. I just bought a pair of Sanuks for our trip and I love them so far, but I haven't tested them in the rain, yet.

I'm glad not all yankees feel the Country Bears is inappropriate for children. Actually some of my best friends are yankees. :rotfl: I really don't see anything wrong about it, but I've read several times on here that it's not appropriate for kids. I don't follow baseball at all, but I'm sorry your team lost.

I know it's admirable to eat healthy and all, but Disney World is just one place where I never worry about it. It's a shame, because the salmon is really tasty.

I know! I kept hoping that the rain was finally over and then it would start up again. :headache:

Nothing worse than wet slippery shoes at Disney....been there, done that:worried:

I am a Country Bears fan no matter what anyone else says, Jasmine loved it when she saw it for the first time and for that reason alone it holds a special place in my heart:)

CHH is one of our favorite lunch time escapes at the MK....we all love it there!

Every other trip I had carefully planned to make sure not to wear my helium shoes on a day when it was likely to rain, but the rain took me completely by surprise that day.

I liked the Country Bears before we had kids, but watching it with Carter and Landon is so incredibly special. It's magical to see how much they enjoy that show. Lots of good memories at that show.

We love it there, too! I think it's our favorite MK spot, too. It is more enjoyable when my stroller's not getting rained on, though.

Completely enjoying your trip reoprt :)
That stinks aboutthe rain. We got a rain cover for our city mini and love it!! You'd better look into it! We just leave it folded up in the bottom at all times.

I also would like to let you know you jinxed me! Haha! We bought our city mini at the end of the summer and have only used a small handfull of times so far. Used it outlet shopping last weekend and kept telling DS3 to be careful cause he kept locking my wheel up so I couldn't turn. Haha! It wasn't him!! The wheel is locking on its own. I can only imagine how fustrated you were!! It drove me nuts.

Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying it! Oddly enough, one of the first things I did before our next trip was to buy a city mini rain cover. :rotfl: We leave cover in the bottom of the stroller, too. We've only needed it once, but it's well worth it!

Oh no! I'd never heard of anyone else having trouble with the city mini wheel, so I figured it was just an odd thing that happened to us. I thought Landon was locking our wheel at first, too, but then it just kept happening again and again when he wasn't touching it. It's really frustrating! Did you use the warranty to get a new wheel?

I've never seen "when animals attack" but it sounds dangerous! :rotfl: Of course, when strollers get wet is a very serious thing, too, so perhaps it fits.

The one shoes that I love for walking in rain are my Sperry's. Even when it's completely wet on the ground, those shoes feel just as steady as if they were dry. I should have packed those for my extra shoes!

I loved that salmon! It was delicious! I suppose the couscous and broccoli were okay, if you like that super healthy taste. :rolleyes1

Whew!!!!! I was on DAY TWO! :rotfl: That's what ya get when you take a several month hiatus! But caught all back up. And I'm happy to see that AKL Kate & Jeremy only trip has worked out! :thumbsup2

I hope your last full Disney day improves! That STINKS about the stroller and the rain! UGH.

That sounds like a miserable experience. I was wearing Croc flip flops once when it rained and I about busted my butt anytime I walked across one of the wooden bridges in the park. Learned that lesson fast. :lmao:

A stroller cover is on the top of our "things to buy" list before our Dec trip. :thumbsup2

I need to dig out the papers today and then I will be calling them. Hopefully they work me. Thankfully I've only heard great things about their customer service.

Taking off your shoes to walk through the park is just awesome. Love that you did that. The rain stinks though. Hope the day improves a bit for you all.

Aww, sorry yall had a rough morning. Don't you hate it when you just know you have something and it turns out you really don't? Maybe next time you can get a couple extra ponchos for the stroller! It sounds like a lot of trouble but it might help! :goodvibes I'm hoping your day got better! Boo rain.

Sorry you are having such a tough day! I agree that wet strollers are the worst! We haven't run into that problem at Disney (knock on wood), but have dealt with it here in town.

So sorry you left the ponchos and rain cover at the hotel, that's always the way it happens, on every sunny day I've got my poncho packed, but the moment I leave it back at the resort, the skies open!

I also agree that Country Bears is a terrible place to keep toddlers contained while you wait for the show. Everett sees that big open space as his personal dance floor and inevitable ends up spinning in circles until he steps on some innocent person's toes, and nearly collides with other children. :headache: Then I'm forced to hold him, while he's crying and trying to writhe his way free. I don't know which one makes me look like a worse mommy!

Glad you finally got your meal at CHH, but bummer it started raining again! Your poor stroller, you were forced to watch it get soaked, but there was nothing you can do, now that torture! :rotfl:

Wow, that's a lot of catching up! I'm sure taking a few months off would leave you really far behind on the DIS. I'm really glad that trip worked out, too! It's going to be so much fun to stay at the AKL and do all the adult things that we never get to do anymore.

I hated that the stroller got wet. Rain on our last full day was the worst!

It was pretty miserable. Between the stroller being wet and my shoes being slippery, it wasn't a fun day. Those wooden bridges are really slippery in the rain anyway and I'm sure the Croc flip flops wouldn't be much help. :rotfl:

Definitely a good investment. Of course, even if we'd had one that day, I probably wouldn't have put it on before we went into Pirates of the Caribbean. That rain came out of nowhere!

I need to dig out the papers today and then I will be calling them. Hopefully they work me. Thankfully I've only heard great things about their customer service.

They were really great about sending me another wheel. I used an online form on their website and they sent me out the new wheel right away.

Taking off your shoes to walk through the park is just awesome. Love that you did that. The rain stinks though. Hope the day improves a bit for you all.

I kept expecting a CM to tell me to put my shoes on at any moment, but none of them ever bothered me about it. I'd rather it didn't rain, but if it has to, bare feet aren't too bad.

Rainy days at Disney are always a shame. Disney and sunshine just go together so nicely. I do hate it when I know I have something and I didn't bring it with me. I should have kept the ponchos in the stroller. I should have bought a rain cover. But most of all, it shouldn't have rained on my last Disney full day.:rotfl:

We had never dealt with before either. I had never even thought of it as something that could go wrong. After that experience, we are suddenly much more conscientious about not leaving the stroller out in the open when it might rain.

I really should have kept bring the ponchos, just to keep it from raining. It never seems to rain when I'm prepared for it. We've been just leaving the rain gear in the stroller now, so we're all set any time it rains.

I hate trying to wait a long time at the Country Bears! The best thing there I've found so far is the pressed penny machine, which will occupy the boys forever pushing buttons and cranking the wheel until some older kid wants to actually pay for a pressed penny and holding them up to look through the window into the Frontierland Outpost. A lot of times, a CM will wave to my boys and they love to wave. Other than that, there's pretty much just running around and annoying others or being forcibly restrained and screaming and annoying others. I guess it's annoying either way! :rotfl:

I was really glad we made it to CHH at least once that trip. I think it'll have to be a lunch spot for us now, since it keeps closing too early. It was so sad looking out the window at the poor stroller getting rained on again. :sad2:

Hooray for the day improving! I think it's completely adorable how much Carter loves the teacups! In that first picture you can barely see the top of his little head! SO cute. I'm glad Landon woke up for Pooh and Tigger. Such a cute update! :goodvibes

Sounds like y'all made the right choice by staying in the park! :thumbsup2

I love your new Crocs you got! Those are so cute! :goodvibes

And it definitely sounds like the day was turning around with smoothies, Teacups & Disney friends! That's so sweet that Landon woke up to meet Pooh & Tigger.

Aw Landon does look awfully happy hugging Pooh! But then again, who wouldn't be happy to wake up and see that lovable old bear! Glad your day was on the upswing, and I love those crocs! Super cute!

That's great that you were able to turn such a bad start around like that. Did you keep any kind of a running count on how many times you rode the Teacups? :lmao::rotfl2:

Landon looks about like he could just fall asleep in Pooh's arms in that last picture.

you are an updating machine!

I'm so glad things got better after lunch and you were able to enjoy your last full day despite the weather.

Those cappuccino smoothies at Auntie Gravity's are delish!

I like your new crocs too! I love my mickey crocs, they are my go-to footwear for the parks!

Its really nice you were able to spend some one-on-one time with Carter, I'm sure he loved getting Mommy all to himself!

Sounds like staying in the park was a good decision. You and Carter looked so happy on the teacups; I bet it was really fun. (Aside from getting very dizzy.:lmao:)

Glad you were able to find new shoes that worked out. That's one of those things that can be a toss-up on whether they're easier to find or not, so it's good to see luck was with you that day!:thumbsup2

I'm glad you guys stayed in the park! Your Mickey Crocs are so cute, I've always wanted a pair of those but I never buy them! Maybe in May!

You and Carter look like your having so much fun on the teacups! It's so funny that that is his favorite ride!

Awww, I love seeing the boys meet the characters, they are so cute! :lovestruc

Glad you had some sunshine after the rain.

The new Mickey Crocs are very cute:thumbsup2

The boys looks so adorable with Winnie the Pooh. I love that Landon woke up just in time. He wasn't missing that meet and greet.

And it definitely sounds like the day was turning around with smoothies, Teacups & Disney friends! That's so sweet that Landon woke up to meet Pooh & Tigger.

I think staying in the park did end up being the right choice. It was pretty fun once the boys got back in the stroller.

Thanks! I love those Crocs!

Smoothies always help to turn a day around! It was fun going on Teacups with Carter, too. And Landon waking up just in time was kind of nice.

I was glad the day started getting better. On our last full day, it always seems extra important that everything goes right. I love those pictures of me and Carter on the Teacups. He looks so little, but he's having so much fun. Landon was so happy to see Pooh and Tigger!

Aw Landon does look awfully happy hugging Pooh! But then again, who wouldn't be happy to wake up and see that lovable old bear! Glad your day was on the upswing, and I love those crocs! Super cute!

I love that look on Landon's face while he's hugging Pooh. It's moments like that that taking little guys to Disney World seems like a really good idea. I was glad the day was recovering from the rain. Thanks!

That's great that you were able to turn such a bad start around like that. Did you keep any kind of a running count on how many times you rode the Teacups? :lmao::rotfl2:

Landon looks about like he could just fall asleep in Pooh's arms in that last picture.

It ended up being a pretty good afternoon, despite how rainy the morning was. I've lost all track of how many times I've ridden the Teacups by now. Just imagine how many times it will be over the next few years!

I'm sure Landon thought that Pooh would make a much more comfy napping place than his stroller. :rotfl:

you are an updating machine!

I'm so glad things got better after lunch and you were able to enjoy your last full day despite the weather.

Those cappuccino smoothies at Auntie Gravity's are delish!

I'm trying to get this TR wrapped up in the next couple weeks, so hopefully updates will be frequent. :thumbsup2

After lunch, everything started getting much better. Rain on the last full day of a trip is no fun.

I love those cappuccino smoothies! Wish I had one right now!

Thanks! I love wearing my Micky crocs, mostly in the parks but sometimes at home, too. I just have to be careful at home, because if I wear a Disney shirt and carry my Disney Dooney and wear my Mickey earrings and my Mickey crocs, people tend to look at me funny.

Carter always loves it when he gets to spend time with one of us one on one and to spend time alone with me on his favorite ride was awesome!

Staying in the park turned out to be a really good decision. We ended up having a lot of fun the rest of the afternoon. Teacups with Carter is always a lot of fun. Even getting dizzy isn't too bad, with him.

I was a little nervous we wouldn't be able to find a pair of new shoes that would be comfortable enough, but those Crocs ending up working really well. I suppose it makes sense that Disney would sell Crocs for all the people who wore bad shoes to the parks.

:lovestruc

I'm glad we stayed in the park, too! It would have been really sad to spend our last day at Windsor Hills, trying to get Landon to nap. I love my Mickey Crocs! Just pack a very uncomfortable pair of shoes in May and you'll have no choice but to buy the new Mickey Crocs!

We were having a lot of fun on the teacups. I would never have expected his favorite ride to be the teacups, but he sure does love it!

Thanks! I love watching them meet characters, too.

Glad you had some sunshine after the rain.

The new Mickey Crocs are very cute:thumbsup2

The boys looks so adorable with Winnie the Pooh. I love that Landon woke up just in time. He wasn't missing that meet and greet.

I was very happy to see the sun was back out.

Thank you! It was kind of fun to pick out new shoes.

I don't know how he knew what was happening, but he was determined not to left out of it! I was happy for him, since he seemed so pleased to see Pooh.
