An Unforgettable Finish- Oct 2011 TR **Happily Ever After (Completed 5/3)

I have never heard of the "power pack" before! Sounds interesting.

The cupcake looks really good. It looks like Mickey (on the power pack box) thinks so too!

I am really enjoying your trip report! :)

I was sold on it when I saw the box! My boys did love it, though. It came with yogurt, string cheese, Goldfish, carrots, a cookie, and milk. They ate every thing but the carrots, and Landon made a valiant effort on those, but they were hard to chew.

It sure does! I didn't even notice Mickey looking at our cupcake, but it really looks like he wants it!

Thanks! I'm glad you're here!

Ok, I got a little behind, so I will start by saying the cake pop will be added to the list of things I have to try.

I agree with your thoughts about the Disney Junior show. It really is a pretty good show and I love seeing how DS really enjoys it. I hate the floor part though. I couldn't feel anything from the waist down after we sat through it.:lmao:

That's some nice magic from another Disney guest to get the cupcake. I'm glad it was as good as it looked.

What is it about toddlers and water? It is impossible not to end up completely soaked if there is any around. They looked like they were having a great time though, and I guess that's really the most important part.:thumbsup2

I loved that cake pop! Jeremy and I like the red velvet cake pop the best, but I haven't had a bad one yet.

I'm sure we'll be back at the Disney Junior show many times for a few years, so I guess I'll have to get used to it. It is nice to see how much fun the boys are having. It's just that moment when I have to try to stand up that's bad.

I thought that was really nice, to give us a cupcake. It did add a touch of magic to our lunch.

Toddlers have remarkable water memory, too. I'm sure next time we go there, Carter and Landon will remember exactly where the water is and head there first. I'll just have to make sure to bring spare clothes every time.

huh. I checked on allears and that must be where I read it, it says it's for age 4 and up. The Disney website does not say that. So I guess that was just a suggestion from allears? not sure!

Maybe it's more like guidelines than actual rules... I think allears says something about the Maelstrom being for ages 4 and up, too, but my boys go on that as well.:confused3

Hooray for kind strangers and cupcakes! It looks really good!

I love the pictures of the boys at the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground. Too cute!

It was a really good cupcake! I like cupcakes, generally speaking and that one was delicious. It's always nice to get an unexpected cupcake.

Thanks! Carter and Landon were having so much fun playing in the water that day.

Awww, the boys looked so happy with Pooh! It must be hard to tell them they have to leave the characters! :rotfl:

Yum, Pizza Planet looks good, anywhere else, that pizza would be unacceptable, but in Disney, it's awesome! And how adorable is that power pack box? I kind of want one, for the box! :cool1:

I remember how much fun my sister and I had in the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground when we were younger, it's too bad adults can't go in there. It's one of the things I'm looking forward to most when I have a kid, I can go back in there and climb after them!

I always feel bad for parents when their kids are having a tantrum. I always wish I could help, but I know there's nothing I can do.

Sometimes, sitting and enjoying the scenery is a lot more fun than it sounds ;)

The Disney Jr. show looks so cute:lovestruc We haven't been to Disney with a toddler so we haven't seen it.

We haven't been to Pizza Planet in years. Was that cupcake from PP? It looks very good, and must be even better when you don't have to pay for it:thumbsup2 The box of food looks great for kids. I haven't seen that before, is that popping up at more QS places?

I love the pictures of the boys with Pooh, especially when they see the balloon. Hmm, Pooh or balloon, which one to pay attention too? The boys are so stinkin cute:love:

You always seem to find great areas for the boys to ran around or climb on so that they can play. I'll have to come back and reread if I ever get to travel with younger kids again, you always have the best ideas.

Mmmm, cake pop. You are such a great wife to save some for Jeremy.

I always try to remember the kids in line behind Carter and Landon and move them along before too long, but it is hard when they're both so excited and happy.

I feel like the quality of Disney pizza has gone down slightly lately, but since it's still Disney pizza, I don't really care too much. I loved the power pack box! I think it was really the box more than the food that convinced me to get it.

I remember having tons of fun at that playground when I was a kid, too. Somehow it really has lost a lot of the magic for me nowadays. I like watching Carter and Landon play, but at the same time, it's kind of stressful to keep them safe in there. It'll probably be fun again when they're old enough to run around on their own without getting hurt.

You'Re right. Landon's eyes do look bleuer with short hair.

I love how his eyes look with his short hair. He was cute before, but I think he's even cuter now.

I always feel bad for parents when their kids are having a tantrum. I always wish I could help, but I know there's nothing I can do.

Nothing you can do except to avoid looking at them like you think they're horrible parents, which actually is kind of helpful, in a way.

Sometimes, sitting and enjoying the scenery is a lot more fun than it sounds ;)

That's for sure! It's hard to describe exactly how nice it is to sit and relax in the parks sometimes.

The Disney Junior show was actually a lot better than I had thought. I always liked skipping it before I had the boys.

The cupcake was from Pizza Planet. I think free cupcakes taste the very best, somehow. DHS is the only park I've seen any power packs at, but I think they have them there at a few other counter service places. I really liked. My boys loved the food and I loved the box.

Thanks! I thought Landon was really cute when he found the balloon. It was just absolutely fascinating to him, which is saying something considering that Pooh was standing right there. It's always the little things at Disney that are the most magical.

I'm always on the lookout for good potential play places for the boys. Those moments out of the stroller are really important to them. I like how there's so many little areas at Disney for kids to explore. It's always kind of fun touring with little ones.

That cake pop was wonderful! It wasn't easy saving part of it, but love makes you do crazy things sometimes. :rotfl:

The carrot cake cookie sounds really good!

Sounds like y'all had another nice, relaxed afternoon in a park! :thumbsup2

I'm going to have to check out what's in this Holiday Sandwich if we get to Earl of Sandwich on our trip. Sounds interesting!

The boys look so cute running around in the splash area.

Can't wait to hear about the exciting next day! :goodvibes

I'm glad you found enough things to do to entertain yourself at DHS. I agree that it is the toughest park with little ones. In fact, I think we're going to skip it in favor of a pool day next week. I love the thrill rides, but with the crowds and the hassle of baby swap, I'm not sure its worth it!

DTD was a good choice! Its always nice to go spend some time there, and dinner at Earl's is a fabulous choice! What exactly is in this holiday sandwich?

I've never actually been inside Goofy's Candy Company, but someday I'd like to try it out! Sorry your gingerbread Mickey wasn't all you imagined it to be.

Having only ever gone with adults, I never thought of DHS not being too kid-friendly. But reading your update made me think about how few rides there are that young ones can go on. All they really have are shows, and I doubt kids can sit still for very long during them. But at least all of you were able to go on TSMM...

DTD parking makes my eyes bug just thinking about it. :sad2:

When I had the Original at EoS, I thought the meat was kind of tough and not easy to chew, so I understand where you were coming from. at least you were able to discover a sandwich you did love...albeit it was at Jeremy's expense.:rotfl:

Your post just emphasized all the reasons that DHS really needs some more family friendly options. I truly enjoy that park, and I love thrill rides, but there just aren't many good options to keep everyone entertained. Especially when you're bringing stroller riders along.

I'm glad the sandwich was good. It's a shame Jeremy couldn't enjoy the whole sandwich he ordered.:rolleyes1 That cake pop you saved for him really must have been great.:lmao::rotfl2:

I loved the name of this entry. I took me until about half way through it to understand it but once I did I loved it. F.R.I.E.N.D.S is one of my favorite shows.

It was good! I don't think it'll become one of my favorites, but it's a good choice.

We're very good at relaxing in the parks! I bet if we ever toured with commandos, we'd drive them crazy.

I really liked the Holiday Sandwich. I know everyone talks about how good it is and I fully expected it to be overrated, but it actually did live up to the hype for me.

They had fun getting wet again. I was out of dry clothes by then, but they didn't care!

I was really looking forward to our next day.:goodvibes

I love DHS when it's just adults, but it really is tough with little kids. We had a pretty good day there, but toward the end, we felt like we had done everything the boys could like. I think a pool day instead of going to DHS sounds like a great idea! Although, actually, Carter just made 40 inches, so that's going to completely revolutionize how we tour the parks!:cool1:

I love going to DTD! Jeremy never seems to like it as much as I do, but that's okay. We really enjoyed our dinner at EoS that night. I know the holiday sandwich had turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and gravy and may have included other things, too, but the tastes all get sort of jumbled in the sandwich. In a good way, of course.

I think the gingerbread Mickey could be really good, with the right toppings. Create Your Own Treats are fun, but there is always the chance of picking a bad combination. Next time, I'll get it just right.

On our first trip with the boys, I really realized exactly how not kid-friendly DHS really is. It's getting a lot easier now that the boys are older, but I'm pretty sure on our first trip we stayed just long enough to get a cupcake from Starring Rolls before giving up and going to Epcot. :rotfl: A few more kid friendly rides would be so nice!

I hate parking at DTD, but it wasn't too bad on a weeknight. I'll never try to park there on a weekend ever again.

I definitely won't get the Original again. I sort of thought it would be good, since it's the original one and all, but very tough meat. Jeremy's always nice about sharing when his meal is better than mine.

If you love thrill rides, DHS is awesome, but if you don't, it's not much fun. It seems like the popularity of TSM would make it obvious to Disney that the park could use a few more just like that. Maybe someday. It's always hard to find things the boys will enjoy there.

I knew there was a good reason why I saved part of that cake pop! Jeremy probably would have shared with me anyway, but the cake pop certainly didn't hurt.

I loved the name of this entry. I took me until about half way through it to understand it but once I did I loved it. F.R.I.E.N.D.S is one of my favorite shows.

It's one of my favorite shows, too! I always thought the episode with the sandwich was funny, but when I tasted that Holiday Sandwich, I finally understood it.

Great update! I loved the Friends reference!

DHS is a little boring for little ones. If it weren't for BatB and VotLM, Maddie would probably only want to do TSM and meet characters.

That must have been some sandwich! What was on it? Cranberry sauce and stuffing? I've seen Rachael Ray make leftovers into sandwiches, and it always looked weird to me too.

l also loved the line about the pretzel, thanks for the laughs.

Yeah, Hollywood is my least favorite park and I'm not even a little kid. I'm glad they do have TSM but I think they need to think about expanding Pixar Place!

"YOU THREW MY SANDWICH AWAY? MY SANDWICH??? MY SANDWICH???" Oh Ross. :rotfl:

Thanks! Friends is one of my favorites shows.

The two princess shows are fun at DHS. I don't know if they would ever be interesting to boys, but I've always liked them. Character meets and TSM is really about it for kids there.

It was a great sandwich! It had cranberry sauce and stuffing and turkey and gravy and it tasted way better than it looked.

I thought the pretzel thing was funny, too.

I used to love DHS before we had kids, but then I do love the thrill rides. I could spend all day riding RnRC and ToT. Pixar Place definitely needs to expand. They could also probably get rid of a few shows and stick in some more kid friendly rides.

It would have been terrible if someone had thrown away the Holiday Sandwich! I can totally see why he'd be so mad about that!

I'm so glad that yall really do get to go on your Deluxe adventure! Hooray for Jeremy being an Animal Kingdom Lodge person! I have to say I can't blame him! I bet that will be an amazing trip. :goodvibes

I love the boys' little swim hats! Too precious.
