An Unforgettable Finish- Oct 2011 TR **Happily Ever After (Completed 5/3)

Carter and Landon are so cute with the characters and the escalator! My daughter just turned 3 on our January trip and she loves escalators.

Sounds like you guys had another great trip! It must have been nice to slow down and not be as worried to take 1000 pics. I bet you are so excited for AKL! That would be amazing to be able to do all the grown up things you want!

I'm glad yall had such a good time! Did the boys get excited under the entrance arch this time? Happy belated birthday to Carter! :woohoo:

I hope someday to spend some time at the Food and Wine Festival again!

We haven't done Figment since our first trip and I remember nothing of it!

I loved the Food and Wine Festival! We'll definitely go back every year in the fall.

Figment isn't necessarily all that memorable, but I love how there's never any line for it.

Love sampling foods around F&W. So sorry though that Landon protested about his water. You should have given him milk! :lmao: Both Joaquin and Riley tend to be anti-water. It's a battle just to get them to drink it. Fortunately, in July it was so hot that they really didn't have much of a choice.

I did not try the Taste of Scandanavia, but I did have the meatballs. I agree. Should have gone with the meatballs.

We had a lot of fun with sampling food at F&W that day. I know, Landon should always get all the milk he wants. I think he thought his water tasted funny, too, which is kind of understandable, since it was from the water fountain. At Disney, it just doesn't make sense to haul a sippy cup of milk around all day.

I knew I should have gotten the meatballs!

Love, love, LOVE the boys reactions to the characters! All the pictures are just adorable! :goodvibes Don't feel too bad about passing up the meatballs at Food and Wine, I've yet to read a review where anyone actually liked them! :lmao:

I loved their reactions, too! I still can't believe how much they love meeting the characters! I bet the meatballs were still better than the Taste of Scandinavia...maybe next year the rice pudding will be the way to go.

Looks like the boys were having so much fun!

I'd really like to go to F&W one day. That shrimp taco does look really good. Can't wait to hear about what other yummy bites y'all tried!

The boys were having a blast that day! Epcot is really a great park for them.

I hope you get to go to F&W someday, it's a lot of fun. I'll be looking forward to getting another shrimp taco next year. We ended up trying a lot of food, but I think the shrimp taco ended up being one of my favorites.

Hahaha, Carter and Landon are already more brave than I am- I'm afraid of escalators. SO LAME! Hahaha how cute that they were so proud. :)

That shrimp taco DOES look good... and I don't even enjoy shrimp all that much haha.

I admit, I was a little nervous for them on the escalators, but they did great. :goodvibes They usually have to ride in their stroller and take the elevator, so the escalator was a really big deal for them.

I do enjoy shrimp that much, so my opinion of the taco may be undeservedly high. :rotfl:

I'm a firm believer that once you exit the Nemo ride and end up in the wide open spaces of the aquarium area of the seas pavillion, it is like an open invitation to run around and just go crazy. :rotfl2: :lmao: It looks like they were really having a good time. It's especially nice that they were entertained in a somewhat confined area so that you could watch them and the aquarium at the same time.

I'd love to go to F&W sometime. That would be a fun way to try some new foods... even if not all of them are something you'd want to eat again.

Apparently, Carter and Landon agree that it is the perfect chance to run wild and have some fun. It's nice to have a place for them to play that's cool and air conditioned. They were having a lot of fun and it wasn't too bad for us either, since we had the aquarium in the background.

There are certainly some foods I wouldn't want to get again next time! But it's kind of fun just getting to try so many new things.

I love spending time at The Seas and it looks like to boys had a blast! It's funny how a little ledge can amuse them for so long isn't it?:rotfl2:

Love sampling at the F & W....it's my favorite thing to do!

Carter and Landon love The Seas! They like the ride and the fish, but the best part is definitely the ledge and all the free running around time.

We had a lot of fun with F&W, too. Of course, the boys didn't seem to enjoy it as much as we did.

Glad to see that the Seas was such a blast for the boys! I don't think I know a kid who doesn't love watching fish.

Oh how I wish I was at the Food and Wine Festival right now. Those shrimp tacos were just delicious!

They had a lot of fun at the Seas! The fish were great and I think they really loved being out of the stroller for a while.

I'd love to be at the Food and Wine Festival right now, too. I'd get a shrimp taco first and then go over to the Ireland booth. :cloud9:

Hi
Just wanted to apologise for ambushing you on the Pooh ride the other evening. I got a bit over excited at recognising you from your pics on the DIS. Love your trip reports ... you write really well. Your description of Carter and Landon at the character meet at Epcot was really cute ... I think all of us mums finally understand the appeal of these meet and greets when we see the expressions on our children's faces. Have you done Camp Minnie & Mickey yet? Go when the Lion King is on as wait times are minimal.
Enjoy the rest of your stay and I look forward to reading that report also.
Love
Lucie

Hi! I was very happy to meet you the other night at Winnie the Pooh! I was excited, too- I'd never met any DISer in person before. Very cool!
Thanks, I'm glad you like my trip reports, I have a great time writing them.
I never understood how amazing a character meet could be until Carter and Landon met the characters for the first time. We did take them to Camp Minnie Mickey this past trip. They loved it! Mickey was their favorite, but they had a very nice time with Goofy, too. Then, a Lion King show let out and the lines were flooded, so we left.
Sadly, no report will be coming on this past trip. We were having too much fun to take pictures this time. :rotfl:

It's good to hear you all had an enjoyable time on your most recent trip! It's great that Carter and Landon have found favorite attractions and are starting to share in the Disney magic.

And an adults-only trip at AKl! That sounds like it'll fantastic!

I'm so glad I found your TR! (I have so enjoyed your past ones.) I was kinda jealous of the people who got to be in MK for the 40th celebrations until I read about how crazy it was in your account. :scared1: Your boys are getting so big and it is cool to see how much they are enjoying your trip and how they loved the characters...too cute! Did you like the overall expereince at Windsor and being off-site? The shrimp taco looked delicious. I'm looking forward to being close to Disney next Food & Wine to hopefully get a few date nights in the world showcase with the Mr. I also liked reading your expereince in the 5k. I'm working my way to hopefully doing one or two during oour time in the U.S. I was thinking of doing the stroller division with my little guy, but glad to know beforehand that would mean that I couldn't run. Do you think you'll ever do another one? Or, was it a one-time kinds thing for you guys? I can't wait to hear more about your trip and so glad to hear that you enjoyed your most recent trip.

Glad you all had such a good time and enjoy your next trip. Im taking a trip in may with all adults and i plan on enjoying leaving a stroller at home and riding all the big rides:cool1:

So glad to hear that y'all had another great trip! :goodvibes

You're next one sounds absolutely perfect! :thumbsup2

This trip was a lot of fun, but I admit, I do think the next one is going to be even better. It'll be way too short!

I'm glad you had another fun trip. That's really exciting the Landon and Carter are really getting into the spirit of Disney and know the different rides, even if they do have their own terminology for them. :lmao:

I love how Carter and Landon are starting to know a lot about the parks now. The only trouble is that now when we are in the parks, they have ideas and suggestions on what to do next. We indulge them when possible, except for when Carter suggests "back to room". That's not gonna happen!

Carter and Landon are so cute with the characters and the escalator! My daughter just turned 3 on our January trip and she loves escalators.

Thanks! Carter and Landon are a lot of fun to take to meet the characters. Escalators are so exciting for them right now!

It was very relaxing to not worry about bringing the camera everywhere and trying to take pictures all the time. I like having the pictures after the fact, but it's easy to get so caught up in the fun that taking pictures never crosses my mind. Our next trip is going to be awesome!

I'm glad yall had such a good time! Did the boys get excited under the entrance arch this time? Happy belated birthday to Carter! :woohoo:

Nobody was excited this time as we went under the arch. :headache: The drive down was a little rough. Carter was crying because he dropped his shoe and Landon was about to wiggle himself free from the car seat buckle and I was turned around trying to get them to ride like normal people and not savages and totally missed that great moment when we passed under the arch. I told Jeremy he should have said something, but apparently, he didn't know it was that big of a deal. :confused3

Actually, Carter's birthday is Sunday. I felt it would be better to celebrate his third birthday at Disney while officially still two. I don't want to pay kid prices before we have to!

It's so cute that the boys are now requesting their favorite rides! (Although I'm sure their opinions are not always welcome :rotfl:)

You next trip sounds wonderful. :cloud9: With all the traveling that we do with Claire, I dream of adult-only trips. That will be a little way down the road for us, though, as we have no one here to leave her with.

I am SO envious of your frequent Disney trips!

We indulge them when possible, except for when Carter suggests "back to room". That's not gonna happen!
:lmao: I guess you need to help him understand that the reason you bought that nice comfy stroller for him and Landon is so that you don't have to go back to the room. :rotfl2:

Glad to hear that your latest trip was a success! How cute that the boys recognize the rides now! I'm hoping that Everett begins to really make the connection this trip. He's getting there, when I ask him what he wants to ride at Disney World, he'll say "ride pirates", but I don't think he really understands what he is saying. All this just means that we need more trips! :rotfl:

I wouldn't feel bad about missing out on the meatballs, you can just get the same thing at Ikea (which is an awesome place to go with kids, if there is one near you!- I don't even shop for furniture, I just let Everett play in the toy section and eat in the cafeteria, lol!)

I agree that the shrimp taco was delish, one of my favorite offerings! Can't wait to see what else you sample!

Glad you had a great trip! I love the names the boys are using for the rides, especially for Philharmagic. How adorable! Happy Birthday to Carter!

I'm really glad that Carter and Landon are liking Disney these days. They're probably going to be going there an awful lot.:rotfl:

I'm so excited to go to the AKL! As much as I love seeing the parks with the boys, it'll be so nice to go back to how it used to be before we had them.

I'm glad you found my TR, too! Welcome! I thought about skipping the 40th, since I knew it would be crowded, but I just couldn't stand the thought that they might do something grand and I could have been there and missed it. Looking back on it, I should have done something else. Each trip with the boys a little older gets a little more fun. I love watching them meet the characters.

Windsor Hills was nice...it was great to have more room and the place itself was perfect. The only downside is just that it wasn't onsite. I don't know. There's no good reason for it, but I really, really like staying onsite. It's more magical somehow.

The F&W Festival would make a great date night, so I hope that works out for you. It's a very nice addition to Epcot.

Disney races are really fun and I'd love to do another one someday. I'm not sure if I'm sold on the stroller division, though. I think next time, we'd leave the boys with their grandparents so we could actually run and not have a cumbersome stroller. We're actually toying with the Tower of Terror Ten Miler. But, if the only way I could do a Disney race was in the stroller division, I'd way rather do that than skip it.

Thanks! :goodvibes
Glad you all had such a good time and enjoy your next trip. Im taking a trip in may with all adults and i plan on enjoying leaving a stroller at home and riding all the big rides:cool1:

Thanks! Am I right in thinking that you were at CSR last week, too? Maybe I'm confused about that. Our trip is in May, too. It'll be so nice to leave the stroller behind. We're going to be guests without bags, too. Where are you staying?

I told Carter and Landon this last trip, that it really works best if everyone just does what I suggest. I told them I spend a lot of time learning about Disney World and thinking about the best plans and that I know what I'm doing. They didn't believe it for a second.

I've been dreaming of an adults only trip for awhile now and I still can't believe we're really doing it. WDW is just so much easier without little kids.

We've been very lucky this year. I always figure Annual Passes are only dangerous if you don't know how to use them. :rotfl:

:lmao: I guess you need to help him understand that the reason you bought that nice comfy stroller for him and Landon is so that you don't have to go back to the room. :rotfl2:

You know, if I thought for one second that we could go back to the room in the afternoon and they'd both lay down sweetly and quietly and nap for a few hours, I'd be happy to go back to the room. But going back to the room so they can jump on the bed is a different matter entirely. :rotfl:

I love talking Disney with the boys! Everett sounds like he's off to a good start with pirate ride. That's one of Carter and Landon's favorites. I think it helps that I supplement the brainwashing by making them listen to Magical Mouse Radio at home. Today, they played the spiel from the Monorail and Carter got really excited and said "Momorail! Momorail on laptop!" Of course, more trips are always a good idea!

I don't think we have an Ikea here...I should check, though because it sounds like a lot of fun. It's always tricky to find good places to visit when the weather is bad.

I can't wait to get another shrimp taco next year!

Glad you had a great trip! I love the names the boys are using for the rides, especially for Philharmagic. How adorable! Happy Birthday to Carter!

Carter and Landon both like to watch Philharmagic with the glasses on top of their heads. As long as they're having fun, I guess! It's nice that they enjoy the parks so much. Thanks!

I had planned to be there last weekend and come home on the 5th but i scheduled my test so close on the 7th that i did not go. im so happy to leave the bags and baby supplies at home but i will miss him. we are staying at pop. 3 single girls on a budget!

Glad you had such a great trip! And yay for an adult trip at AKL! :woohoo: What dates are you going? Brandon and I are going for our 2 year anniversary from May 5- May 9, a totally unexpected trip which I'm more excited for than the past 2 trips we took for some reason! :cool1:

Too bad you had to cancel, but I suppose it's a good thing to be prepared for the test. I bet it's great to have that test over with! I'm sure I'll miss my boys, too, but it will be so much fun to do whatever we feel like instead of whatever seems best for them. Pop's a great choice!

The boys are so cute drumming away! :goodvibes

I can't believe you passed up your beloved Chewy Caramel Bar! :scared1:

Poor Carter being so upset about spilling his milk! Glad y'all were able to get the boys all fresh & clean! And hopefully, they took a nice, long nap after that....

I'm glad they discovered that the Duffy's weren't loud enough.

Hahah I feel so dumb for even saying this, but that yogurt expired on my birthday. :cool2:

Ugh, having wet clothes is awful, even temporarily.
