An Ohana Reunion...The Waterless Cruise...

I will and take pics! We only got to go once last year, but then we did the cruise! It seems so long since we went. It was the end of April last year.

Once Kaitlin starts middle school, there will be no more winter breaks! Yuck. Her elementary school has an alternative calendar.

I know the feeling! We actually didn't have a problem until Taylor started High School. We took her out for a couple of days this past October to go to the F&W Festival & we got a warning letter. Needless to say it will most likely be summer for us from now on, because they obviously frown on her missing school & the airfare during school vacation weeks is very scawy!

Hey folks, just popping in to see where the DVC folks are staying. Is there any one resort everyone is trying to get? (or got?) Haven't read through the thread yet, will do that later tonight.

Since DVC just switched from trading with Interval to trading with RCI there is a very slim chance that I may be able to snag a studio or something. If not, we'll be offsite. But don't get all excited yet, I still don't know if we'll be able to make it or not. I'm going to put a request in with RCI anyway to see if anything DVC comes up.

ME me me me! If I can get BCV that is. Cade has his heart set on Stormalong Bay this coming trip, but I have to call on the 17th, because that will be 7 months from our check-in day in August.

Just a thought, but maybe we could start a role call of who is staying where & when in another month or so? That should make it easier for any group reservations or meets we are planning on.

Monica...not a SLIM chance at all. I was just able to book a 1 bedroom at Saratogo Springs for the two weeks . All the resorts show up, but only SSR was available for August. If you have a decent trader you may be able to see some of the other resorts for August. Also, I would not wait to get a roll call - if you see them in the bank - I would GRAB it, because those prime weeks won't last long! I would have preferred BWV, but I will certainly settle for SSR. I'm shocked they are there at all.

If you need any help with what's showing I still have vacations weeks in the bank with RCI that I can help in letting you know what is still available.

I like CBR. We stayed there when we di our land/sea pkg. It is one of the Epcot resorts.

We will try BCV 8/16-8/22.

If you have a decent trader you may be able to see some of the other resorts for August. Thanks for the offer. I have another week that I can play around and search with. The problem is my resort doesn't have much trading power. It's a red week but not a great resort.

I did enter an ongoing search for check in Aug 14, 15, or 16 at any of the DVC resorts. We'll see if something comes through. I'm also working on getting my mom to bank her week and letting me us it to trade since she's got more trading power. I'm not going to wait around for them to call me, I will be checking probably daily to see if something comes up.

Mary Ann & Monica are actually talking about RCI, which DVC has just changed to using for non-Disney destinations. Since they own at RCI, they have to grab whatever becomes available as a trade-in at DVC. Since it's new, I imagine it's very popular. Not that I understand exactly how that all works either since I've never traded, but I hope to trade into RCI one of these days. I've always wanted to go to the Grand Canyon, Niagra Falls, Las Vegas, etc.

Sorry guys....yes we are speaking RCI, most DVC people wouldn't even follow it.

I guess all you need to know is that I'm trying to be there in August and I may luck out and get a DVC resort. If not I'll be offsite. And this is all dependent upon me still being employed in August.
