An Invasion of a "STRANGER" Kind.... NEW THREAD IS UP!! Go Thee NOW!

Did you call the commander & chief and voice your concerns? Have the 4 star generals convened and come up with a new plan of attack? :confused3

That is terrible news. :sad2:

I won't rub it the fact that MNSSHP is so much fun, OK?:rolleyes1

(that was the extent of the ribbing);)

OK What about Cirque? I know in the 'beginning' Cirque was on your list of possible expenses. I'm sure that would be a fun night out with the ladies! OR what about a Wishes/Illuminations cruise??? That might be an awesome experience! :goodvibes

EDITED:: I wonder why MK is closing at 7 then? HMMMMMM?????

18 spankings??? OUCH!:headache::headache:

Well... I may have to pull rank here and make some phone calls. Although, generals often cannot do much when pitted against Disney demi-gods.

It is really bad news, and I can take the ribbing- (as throat begins to close up and smart). j/k... it is a tough blow though.

We ARE doing Cirque!!!!! That is coming up soon. I have ideas, but we need to be in agreement- as per the Constitution of the United Ladies Trip to the World. ;)

So sorry to hear about MNSSHP. That really stinks, it's such a great event. Still your going to have a ball no matter is you go to a party or not. :)

I know we will Crissy. If nothing else, we can spend the extra money on other things- massages, another signature meal, and a few other things come to mind...

Loving Day 5 though I will be interested to see if you really make Rope Drop!

Especially since LeeAnn will be still be sporting a strong West Coast time zone laze.

That totally sucks about no MNSSHP! I would be bummed out. But who knows, they might still change it..... be optimistic!

I might just have to include the cruise review in my next TR. I want to finish my Feb TR before going away again.... think I can do it? Expect an update every night this week! :rotfl:

I'm liking your plans on Day 5 :thumbsup2

Hmmmm.... yes!! I think you CAN do it! Especially if you bang out an update every night! ::yes::

OK, I can wait then for the the next TR.... that makes more sense anyway.

Glad you like my plans- DIsney didn't...

Apparently, the pretty reliable news came out that there will be no Halloween parties until the 14th (for you astute ones, that's the day AFTER we leave!) this year.

Well, again, nothing is anything until is officially announced, which it hasn't been yet. This is from the DIS (nothing is ever wrong here, right?? ;)) and Stitches Kingdom. Apparently, this info. also went out to the Travel Agents, which makes it even more depressingly sure.

Hey, Liesa, don't give up hope yet!

Depending on the response, they may add more parties... remember that last year I purchased tickets for the October 31st party because that was the "official" last party of the season. Then a few days later they added the November 1st party (and I was annoyed because that's the one I wanted and the tickets could not be exchanged!)

Well, it could work on "the other end" in September as well. Last year they started September 4th.

Wait and see, you may get pixiedusted.... pixiedust:

That's what a lot of folks on the other board are saying. Just wait, cross your fingers, and plan accordingly. I think we'll add a couple more ADRs in case the Pixie Dust runs low on this one.

I have already decided that if they don't have a party lined up that we can actually attend by the time I go in June (I am going in June!!) that I am going to use my $120 to buy a UNIVERSAL AP. :rolleyes1

I was going to just see HP - but I may get an AP and use some of my "extra" time in Sept to go back to Universal. Maybe I will learn to like it? (Never been.)

Beautiful picture!

and Soarin' (which is probably a pipe dream), and time in Innoventions where I hear they give out free souvenirs like Velcro frogs and Make-Your-Own Paper)

...........

Bed early- or a swim, or late night laundry??

Oh, I don't think Soarin' is a pipe dream. We've never had a problem getting late in the day Fip's (to borrow your borrowed expression) in September.

I think you are going to be hitting the hay! It sounds like a pretty packed day after a late night. Although, actually, all your days sound pretty packed to me - I'm used to taking the kids back to the pool everyday for a couple hour break. I need it as much as they do!

If I can hijack here for a moment - tell me more about your C25k program. Twoboysnmygirl (Karen) was talking about it on her thread, too. I'm getting intrigued. How does it work?

I don't post much on weekends, so first things first...

:cheer2: Happy Birthday Bekka!!! :cheer2:

Next, :scared1: I can't believe your plans are changing again! This better not be another April Fool's joke ;)

I'm sure you'll get it all figured out and have a GREAT time! And now you have yet another reason to go back! :thumbsup2

So are you going to tell us what the costumes were going to be?

I forgot to add, I read the Phoenix, AZ newspaper a few times last week, hoping to see a story about the conflict by you, but it was never there. Not even in the Sunday paper. :confused3

There is even a "world news" section, but nothing even close. How sad the level of coverage we get here. I have been disappointed with the news here since moving from Chicago, it seems much more centered on just a few local topics (the same ones, over and over ) and we don't hear much about the rest of the country or world. :sad2:

Thanks!

Thanks for the good news about Soarin'. I really don't know when the FiPs run out, so was rather sad that I might not get to ride it with LeeAnn this day. I know it's maroo's favorite ride as well (although it may be tied with EE), so it woudl be great if we can get at least one flight.

I imagine you are right. Although, I've been know to get Disney-excitement induced insomnia. :rolleyes1 I need to find out exactly where the POR hot tub is. I imagine us hitting that up more than a few times.

No problem hijacking about the C25K! To be honest, I've not been as faithful as Carissa (carissanboys) who got me pretty motivated. (well, actually it was my DH who basically demanded it- in a good way) The weather has been all over the place, and I DO NOT GO OUT when it's cold, as I get ear aches pretty easily.

Anyway, here is the website with tons of good information...http://www.c25k.com/

Basically, it is a 9 week "program" (obviously going to take me 18 weeks :lmao: -and that's ok) that gets you in shape enough to run a 5K. The first week goes soemthing like this: Walk 5 minutes, jog 60 seconds, walk 90 seconds, repeat about 8 times. You do Week 1 3 days, then move on to W2. Then it's Warm up walk, jog 90 seconds, walk 60 secs. , etc... Gradually , you work up to 25 minute (I think.... I'm too scared to look ahead) jog. So far it's about what I thought it'd be- hard work, but very do-able. Granted I'm STILL only on week 1, as I lost some ground with the weather, and then some funky asthma I didn't know I had. But this week should be warmer again, and I'll go again.

If you feel like you need to get off the duff, like I know I did, it's a GREAT program. The coolest thing is that on that website I gave you, you can download podcasts with upbeat music that tells you exactly when to run, walk, stretch, etc... It really is over in no time.

I don't post much on weekends, so first things first...

So are you going to tell us what the costumes were going to be?

Me neither! Weekends are full of family or church stuff, so I use Mondays as my catch up day. :)

NO!! I sincerely wish it was another April Fools Joke!! REALLY I do! Hope is fading for a chance at this year's party, but until they officially change the park hours, I'll hope a wee bit of it.

We've got some new ideas and things are unfolding - yet once again. Yes, as soon at WDW unleashes their hairy monster park hours, I'll let you know what we HAD planned. ;)

I forgot to add, I read the Phoenix, AZ newspaper a few times last week, hoping to see a story about the conflict by you, but it was never there. Not even in the Sunday paper. :confused3

If you want good World news coverage the best site I've found (that's actually our home page) is BBCNEWS.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/

Europeans are MUCH better at covering world events than US, who does seem at times ingrown and dense about things outside their backyard. Right now the top headline is Thailand, and Kyrgyzstan is still on the front page.

After MK EMH's and rope drop at AK, I vote heading to bed early! You don't want to get burnt out!

You are so right! AND...

I want a chance to use the Basin Bath bombs I'm going to buy! Ahhh.... relaxing after a long day!

By the way, I just went to the park hours page on WDW, and it is a done deal it seems. Hours are officially changed....closing at 9:00. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! to you Disney!

Well, today has certainly been an interesting one in the life a gal on the Steppe!!

First, I wake up and find I have a 17 year old! :scared1:
Then, I find that I could possibly write another chapter in the running story of "As the Sewer Spews".

Back to the drawing board we go.... I have ideas though. And they be good ones, Matey! More forthcoming...

Seriously, it looks like a full blown tornado could swoop down and suck me up out of my NO MNSSHP misery at any second.

And now that this update is far too long already, I'm going to give you the Plan of Attack for Day 5, since Disney was nice enough to keep their hands off of it. I'll have to go back to Day 2 and give you the new scenario, once I nail it down.

I give you--- DAY 5. Our first full day together at the POLY.

Despite being out late the night before at an MK EMH, we are determined to get up EARLY and head out the door for:

8:00- Rope Drop at AK- (Top Priorities: EE, Safari, Africa Trails, Music Groups, Tree of Life)

1:00- Move over to AKV for a 1:25 ADR at Sanaa

3:00 (or so)- Hop to EPCOT for touring FW (Top Priorities: SE, The Land, Crush, Figment, M:S (but don't want to thoroghly ruin dinner), and Soarin' (which is probably a pipe dream), and time in Innoventions where I hear they give out free souvenirs like Velcro frogs and Make-Your-Own Paper)

7:00- Head to Contemp for our ADR at Cali Grill (Wishes from Dinner) Hello goat cheese ravioli!

Bed early- or a swim, or late night laundry??

Lemme have it! The good, the bad, and the think about it again.

Hi Liesa ... sorry to hear about the spewing sewers and the sucking Disney tornadoes (seriously ... that sinking feeling ... ugh - I can feel the misery ... but I'm gathering you are an intensely resilient individual :worship:)

Loved seeing the pics of the good time had by all as you celebrated a wonderful birthday for your daughter. Thanks for sharing!!

I like the way you have your Day 5 spaced out ... I'm not sure about the crowds at Sanaa but the 1 to 3 spacing seems more than ample. I agree that getting on "Soarin'" amongst all other plans at FW is very wishful ... but it's in those moments when something surprising can happen in the blink of an eye!:wizard:

Living overseas produces 2 effects: One of being resilient, like you say; but also making one so much, much more grateful for having things WORK too. Oh how I long for utilities that just don't talk back!

It was fun. Unfortunately, I overindulged and had to go to bed early with an upset stomach. Too much rich food in too short a time....

I think at first glance our days look busy and full, but really, one of the TENETS of this trip is to slow way down and focus on the theming of the parks rather than the rides. Slowly strolling, stopping for Streetmosphere, etc.. is the name of the game here.

mary having a car is really going to help with transport times too. If we were doing busses, it'd be really slow, but I think she's either driving or renting a car, so we should be good on fast hops.

You are so right!!! I had a wonderful time finally getting to "know" you by voice!! Even if it was only a few minutes. It will be so fun getting to meet you and Katharina soon and share some schneitzel (probably spelled that wrong!)

It's Schnitzel... ;) And neither Katharina nor I will share one with you I am sure!! ;) A real one has to be bigger than the plate it is served on and it is impossible to share it, it is just too good, to not eat a whole Schnitzel yourself!! :goodvibes

We have another day totally dedicated to EPCOT, so it seems good to "get FW out of the way". Most of you know, it's not my favorite park- only DHS being behind it.

So in fact, it comes in on third place, not too bad... I have a really hard time picking my least favourite park and Epcot would be one that I would consider, but I think for me it is the MK. DHS used to be my favourite park, but I think AK has taken over now.

I"m am really, really looking forward to CG!!! Looks like there are so many good things there. :cloud9:

I am quite confident that I will have written about our CG dinner in our TR before your trip... :cloud9:

Nope, no Indian here at all. This country has the LEAST tasty and imaginitive food I have ever encountered ANYWHERE! They basically cook with 5 ingredients and just make them look slightly different in the 6 dishes they make- I kid you not, it IS that bad. We used to joke that the 5 food groups are: Bread, Vodka, fat, sugar, and meat. I wish I could say that is far from the truth, but sadly it is not.

That really sounds very boring!! I now understand why this special soup served for the Naruz festivities since it also contained soured milk or something like that.

There is a conference in Thailand- (my favorite place in the entire world) that we had planned to go to; but unfortunately when we made the decision to return we forfeited that, as it was a leadership conference with our company. I know we will go back someday! Once you are there, it is practically nothing for hotels (NICE ones) and great (in my opinion the BEST) food!

Thailand is a very popular tourist destination here in Germany and everyone I know who came back really loved it. It is somewhere on my list of countries to visit, together with Japan, South Africa, Andalusia and Scotland... We also have lots of thai restaurants and I agree with you: the food is very tasty!! :goodvibes I hope you will get back sooner rather than later!

If I can hijack here for a moment - tell me more about your C25k program. Twoboysnmygirl (Karen) was talking about it on her thread, too. I'm getting intrigued. How does it work?

It's an awesome program! I went from struggling to run for 60 seconds at a time to now being able to run for 28 minutes straight! And I've lost 17 pounds. :thumbsup2

Here is the layout of the plan:

Hi All!!! I just walked in from a nice, big birthday party, and had a blast pigging out on all kinds of yummy stuff. But now, I'm drifting off into a food coma and need to hit the sack. I'll reply tomorrow to everyone; meantime have a wonderful day all!! "See" you in the morning!!!

Last night on my way home from work I saw a license plate that reminded me of you:

JS7OFUS

How crazy is that?! Did you know someone in AZ stole your identity? ;)
