It would so more than wonderful if you could be there!! Surely you could come up with some business reason you would need to be there!

DH just got off the phone with DHL. We found out we'd save over $900 if we shipped with them rather than using the airline's overage fees. So, he said he'd think about it during the day and make his decision. Even with saving we'd still PAY $600 for shipping, whereas we wouldn't have to at all if we didn't stop in Germany. Soooooooo, it really comes down to us deciding if 2 days in Germany is worth $600 + $400 (minimum for hotels, food, train tix, etc...) . We should know by week's end if he thinks he wants to do that or not. I am sooooooooooo hoping he will say yes. But understand if he thinks we need to save the cash.



It does sound interesting! Maybe those concoctors know something we don't?? I'm willing to try anything THAT green a try!



I'm seeing that!! maybe we can try to reschedule some of these at some point??

I'm going with on time for this one! Piper and I had a 2-top at Rainforest, and honestly, I didn't like it, it was too cramped! I did notice that there were very few there though..most of the tables seemed to be for 4, with some larger ones interspersed here and there.

Wow, Rose and Crown was strange? Another difficult to get one person ADR.

My new guess is once again: A (on time). And yes, I am still following my super secret strategy! even though I am not so sure of it anymore. But I guess I will just stick with it.

I can understand that even with the cheaper DHL it is still a lot of money to pay for two days in Germany. Also, in a way it might be nice to have a small break in the transition from Central Asia to North America, but on the other hand you might not be able to enjoy it that much and feel like you really rather need to move on to your final destination?

When all's said and done, I'd love to hear your strategy! Yeah, so much to think about with the move, and DH is the kind of guy who needs to have it all figured out ahead of time. Engineer and all that... Still chewing on it all.

That sounds like a great idea to me! : I don't know what Piper's school situation will be yet, but I would pull her out if she is back in a classroom. Sounds like a great time!

As for the ADR troubles, it seems like it is much harder to get ADR's for 1-2 people than it is for 3+. Most restaurants don't have very many 2 person tables. I don't want to start any great debate but I did have a very nice CM point out to me that if I couldn't get an ADR at all or if I wanted a different time to add one to my group. I don't understand the logic of their stupid system but it worked like a charm. I couldn't get an ADR for a group of 5 but could for a group of 6 - I don't know about you guys but I don't ever recall seeing a 5 person table so we were going to take the same table size with 5 or 6 but they could not find a time for a group of 5 but could for 6.

Just my two cents for you in your ADR combat/tweaking phase.

It is a stupid system if they are indeed giving ADRs to fewer people who will take the same table. I'm sticking with my guess that they reserve the ADRs who will FILL the table, so as to get more revenue. If that makes sense. So, if that's their game, and they are setting things up to be run that way, then there's only one alternative...
