An Invasion of a "STRANGER" Kind.... NEW THREAD IS UP!! Go Thee NOW!

As Piper would say "Camels..workhorse of the desert"...she read that in a book sometime, and now whenever she sees camels come up...she says that in her best pbs voice! :lmao: It cracks me up everytime!

The wine stopper cork thingy *technical term there* sounds like a great idea! I'm sure you'll be able to find one in your price range. :goodvibes: Okay..now we had the talk about you pausing your PTR while we're gone, right? Because otherwise I'm going to have an awful lot to catch up on when I get back. :rolleyes1:

HA!! She's one smart cookie!!

Today's the day, right??????

This PTR is like a moving freight train with momentum that is hard to stop!!

I'll make sure to keep the links up!! ;)

Camels...that's old hat. I'm really, REALLY wishing I hadn't been sick on our WS day. I almost puked in the line for test track. Not on the ride mind you, I never even got to the cars. I went back to the camp and "crashed".

We leave tomorrow morning! I'm going to go to my thread and do my "list" for the day. Besides unpacking, the one thing I'm dreading is trying to catch up to all the PTRs/TRs I'm going to miss.. :lmao: The links do help though! :goodvibes:

I see to be all caught up again. Good luck on the wine stoppers. Sounds like a cool souvie.

LOL! That was a good one! "crashed"! :rotfl2:

Yeah, as I look ahead, I could potentially miss weeks of DISsing while I go thru this looming massive move of ours!!

It took me an hour and a half this morning to catch up myself. Such fun stuff!!

I hope they aren't too expensive- although, I think they may be.

The wine stoppers look like a good item.. don't know how much they are going to cost with the WDW mark up! :teacher:

When I get back I'm going to need the Cliff Notes version of you TR! :rotfl: I'll just hit the TOC for Jordan's... He will be on his 2nd thread by the time I get back. :surfweb:

That camel is one ugly looking thing... spitting all over the place... kinda like that flosser Jordan encountered on the plane!:bitelip:

Oops!
I didn't notice your pre-trip report started a new thread.
Apparently I've been out of the loop for 50 or so pages. :confused3

So what's this I hear about a Tyson's meet?

Ewww..that camel is ugly! :rotfl: He needs to brush his teeth a time or two...or 1,000 times! :rotfl:

Just sent you a long PM, but wanted to add something TR related here as well! I seem to remember that I really liked the French shops. I have vague memories of nice souvenirs. There might be soaps? I think there were definitely kitchen towels with patterns from Provence... I remember that I was very tempted on several things, but thought it pretty stupid to buy French stuff in the US. I am sure you will find something nice there.

AH, I think I need to check my pictures, I took quite a few of the French shop. Perhaps something might catch my eye!! :goodvibes

Awww what an adorable camel! :rotfl:

I like those wine stoppers. I like wine too! If you can't find the stoppers, just go for one of those delicious french pastries. It's not the kind of souvenir that will last very long but that's why you take pictures of it :goodvibes

I love the stoppers. Might need to get me one of those too!

Ooohhh ADR day approaching!

Fun times.

I feel lame but that's all I got. My brain hurts right now. Forget the stopper, I need the wine. And a nap.

:rotfl:

I like the wine stoppers. Hmm, what else might they have? A little Eiffel Tower for the window sill?

Yeah, I know. Something that would normally cost $3 will likely be $15. Ugh!

I know! It's really going to rock starting on Saturday. You may have to find a WiFi place and hang out. :lmao: Does your house come with it. I know you'll want to surf while you're at Disney. :rolleyes1:rotfl2: NOT!

I promise I'll keep up the TOC!!

That guy was EWWWW, but made a great story. Funny, he has no idea he's immortalized forever in our minds. :lmao:

The wine stoppers are a cool souvie...

I'm stuck on food....a pastry would be nice....

I've had pastries in France before. They were kinda dry, I thought. This time I'm going for crepes. And I'll bring home a nice picture souvenir- just for you.

Oops!

So what's this I hear about a Tyson's meet?

Tis OK, my friend!

So, a few of us are thinking it'd be fun to get together for a dinner or something while I"m visiting my sister in McLean. D.C. itself would be hard because of traffic and parking, so we're thinking somewhere else. WE NEED YOUR HELP, MIKE!! You live right there!!! Can you suggest somewhere fun, not too expensive, good for a group? And What night is better? The 31st or 1st??

Ewww..that camel is ugly! :rotfl: He needs to brush his teeth a time or two...or 1,000 times! :rotfl:

He was disgusting! He was drooling all over the place too! He seriously reminded me of Jordan's thread- drooling, and all that!

I saw some nice photos of the wine shop and the kitchen shop in France, and saw that Provence stuff! I love those colors!! I used to have a beautiful table cloth that my mom got me, but over the years it was destroyed. It was vinyl coated so could be wiped. I LOVED IT!!!

Let me know, for sure, if you see other things that might be cheap. Maybe a coaster might work.

OH YEAH!!! I forgot!!! I also had heard about the switch plates with Degas painting on them. I think they are so pretty!! And certainly something I'd see everyday!! ;)

Awww what an adorable camel! :rotfl:

I'm doing crepes with strawberries this time around. I hope it's yummy!!! And there will definitely be pix!!

Yep! Saturday's the day!! Mary said she's going to do it from WDW. I think we actually have 3 ADR dates. Yikes!!

I"m going to your thread now to see how your interview went!! I NEED TO KNOW!

I like the wine stoppers. Hmm, what else might they have? A little Eiffel Tower for the window sill?

I just remembered they also have little light switch plates with Monet and Manet or Degas on them. Impressionist stuff! That'd be pretty in our new house too! :thumbsup2

Evening Liessa !!! Trying to stop byall the threads but still sharing a laptop !!! Hopefully Wednesday at least 1 more will be in house !!

About how many are we?
And I'm assuming this is no kids?
And what days were you thinking? The 31st or 1st of which month?

HEY, HEY, HEY, Rosie!!

I'm just getting to my AM coffee!! AHH!!

IKWYM!!! Sharing a computer is tough stuff!!!

I think we may end up with 10 or so?? Really NOT sure! I was thinking no kids, they may be pretty bored sitting in a restaurant listening to adults yack it up. :confused3 I think some may want to stay later (those who will be spending the night at a hotel or such) and go out for drinks or coffee. I really don't know.

It has to be August 31 OR Sept. 1st. Those are the only nights I have available.

Please, I need a local to help wth ideas. Don't you live right there??

Are you exhausted yet??!! Are your feet tired from our virtual "Around the World Souvenir hunt"?? Only 2 left to go, so get your bandaids on your dogs, if need be, and let's finish up.

What do you conjure up when I say The UK Pavilion? I think of Fish and Chips, Mary Poppins, and TEA, OF COURSE!!!

One of my very favorite pictures from our April, 2008 trip is this one:

I love the flowers, the old style architecture, and the quaint little shops hidden out of view from those who are in a rush to just "get through".

I think this will be one of those little shopping jaunts that I will truly want to browse. Although, I don't want to have the shopping, or the souvenir itself, to be an end in itself, I do want the shopping to be a tool to see more, soak more in, and just BE.

My VERY preliminary idea for something to take home from the Islands is one or two tea bag rests. My teammate has a little set of these gems that are shaped like little teapots with a floral design on them. I'd love a set of those to cheer me up each day.

What have you seen there that might be fun?? Remember, gotta be inexpensive, and something that evokes thoughts of UK!

Oh I want the Mary Poppins Cookbook!

Tea rests are adorable though
