An Invasion of a "STRANGER" Kind.... NEW THREAD IS UP!! Go Thee NOW!

JenBear123 - I think we need new user names! It is crazy how similar ours are - I think we may confuse people! Though that could be fun too! ;)

Liesa - see my post above on the 15 pages I missed.

As for the recap list, don't forget you are considering salt and pepper shakers in the US.

Canada - they do have some interesting soaps there if I remember correctly. Flannel underwear perhaps? :lmao: Oh wait - you won't be living in Blankistan anymore so you may not need those. I think they sell some small pewter and leather items - keychains, etc.

Now I really do have to get back to work!

See, I kept up, even though you zipped through the last couple of countries. And I was limber and lithe enough to make out of the Moroccan bathroom.

I don't know about a souvenir from Canada, but those pants the mounties were are pretty cool.

Hope they're more pants than Off Kilter wears. :rotfl2:

Glad you 're still with me. Sometimes those Turkish squatties are a bleep to get up from!

I just wanted to let someone know... I am going to start getting up to speed, but if you never hear from me again, that means I got lost!!! Send out the search party... I am starting at the beginning, Part 1... See in about 6 months

I should be in for a meet in the DC/VA area. I don't know the area very well though so hopefully someone else can help with suggestions. I am pretty flexible on the dates.

We really enjoyed pick a pearl! You can always get it set later or buy one of those cages on ebay later to save money at the time. I agree - :headache: darn budgets!

I think the souvie ideas are good. :thumbsup2 I love Monet so if you can't find a wine stopper than I think a light switch plate or a small print would be lovely. I can't help much with the Morocco pavilion - the only thing I can remember from there right now are the puppets on strings. I actually spent a few days in Morocco in high school. Based on that experience, maybe something woven or ceramic? I like the tea bag rest for the UK. DH bought some loose tea there on one of our trips and there was someone there that was a member of a big tea family and of course I can't think of who it was. But I digress. . .how shocking! ;)

As for the AK EMH/MNSSHP debate, I don't see official dates or hours for MNSSHP or Sept. anywhere yet? If your info is correct, can you attend MNSSHP another night?

Now, I am suffering from CRS and don't remember if I commented on everything that I wanted to comment on but I have got to get back to work so I will have to do a second post if I think of anything.

Have a great day everyone! Everyone that is leaving soon or already at WDW - have a great time and I can't wait to read all about it!

1) The meet!! I knew you'd be "IN"! I think we're going to have a great time!!!

2) Pick a pearl is going to be great!! I may save the cash and take care of it later like you say.

3) Hmmm.. somethign woven for Morocco! Maybe a coaster or ??

4) NO dates for MNSHHP aren't out yet, but the hours tell us it's going to be Wednesday and then again Friday. The Night of JOY messed it all up. We have plans to hit both! :cool1:

5) Yeah I call it CRAFT! Happens all the time. Sometimes I forget what I had for dinner the night before!:sad2:

I always look twice when I see your names!! We don't want more embarassing posts!

Thanks!!I had forgotten my S&P shakers!! going back to edit!

Soap- that's a good idea, ladies! But Basin is on my list too. But I do love lavendar, maybe they have sachets??

No, no flannel underwear. Although it is very cozy to wear. Almost makes me wanna go cowboy. :rolleyes1

We'll send out a search and rescue- although, we may be stuck on the Moroccan potty. We'll meet you in Canada! :lmao:

HA!! seriously, if I can confess just a little... I don't wear it a lot of the time. I've heard it can lead to cancer with the aluminum in it, but I shower a couple times a day.

Basin is at the very top of my must-do list at DTD!! I plan to tank up on some things which I'll talk about later in my PTR. ;)

I've heard that too, it was the hot topic a couple of years ago at Gourmet Club with a very heated debate about what was the "best" aluminum free deodorant out there (I think it was between Jason's and Tom's of Maine?).

Personal opinion is the aluminum free ones don't work worth squat so why bother at that point.

I bother. Everything causes cancer anyway so I pick my battles and stands. That's not one of them!

I would not have made it through yesterday without it to be sure.

Or WDW in August!:scared1:

I am back... And I am done!! :yay:

I didn't even get lost once, and only had to take 1 potty break...

I didn't read all the chit chat..

I love the no farting in the bedroom rule... I tried to impose that here after we had been married for 6 months, Terry said that I couldn't change the terms of the contract and I should have thought about that...

Only one potty break! :rotfl:

Change the contract! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

:welcome:

I never stop to plan my souvies... perhaps I should!

ADRs!! Things are heating up...

And since you gave up deodorant...a good way to come back to the sweet side.
:lmao:

How in the world do you have time to shower a couple times a day? I would think homeschooling your kids would keep you pretty busy.;)

According to my brother in law, who is an ongologist, there is no evidence of cancer caused by deodorant. Which is good, because my teenage son is the grossest smelling thing on earth after a game of basketball.:laughing: I have made him well aquainted with the pit stick.

Of course you, being a woman, doesn't realy need it because you naturally smell like roses, cinnamon rolls and a fresh summer breeze all rolled into one.

Liesa,
Canada has MOOSE and you can also get little leather tags, key chains, ect that they put the year on in a silver stamp they are under $5 and really great you get them at a little wooden stand/wagon at the base of the entrance to Canada.

Also please PM me I want to talk about Quilt material cause umm I might have some that will make you squeak depending on what kind of material you like to use in your quilts....

JenBear123 - I think we need new user names! It is crazy how similar ours are - I think we may confuse people! Though that could be fun too! ;)

Wow. You're right. I never noticed how close they are! Great minds think alike ;)

So, what will we shop for here?? It's our last souvenir we will buy, so let's make it good! Unfortunately, I have no idea whatsoever to look for here. I can tell you, I don't want maple leaves or syrup. I can get that at my local Safeway. Jen, help me out here!! Call Bubba! This is an emergency! Wait she may already be gone.

What is Canada famous for besides maple leaves and hockey gold medals? Seriously- what can I find for under $5 without Mickey on it?

Let me just say that Disney does a terrible job representing Canada in that little shop of theirs. We are way more than hockey and maple syrup. But I digress, it's pretty hard to wrap up snow and sell it in a nice little package :rotfl2: If you didn't have a price cap, Liesa, I'd say go for a nice bottle of the Inniskillin ice wine - if you like ice wine that is. I wish they sold more Canadian wine in that store. Some of our wineries are pretty darn good up here!

To be honest, there's not much I can suggest. Other than those soaps i.e. Beaver Butt Soap, Husky Drool, etc. Even then, that's kinda lame :headache: I guess I'm so disappointed in the shop that I don't spend much time in there. Sorry I can't be much more help here. :confused3

Cynthia, you may sit next to me on a plane anytime.

OK, you guys... Let me just clear a few things up okay- since I'm getting roasted alive here...

I should have stated that that happens only in the winter, when my house hovers around 63 inside. I don't sweat- at all! And I literally walk out my front door about once a week; not even to feed the dog will I go out! I DO NOT like the cold, so I pretty much hole up inside. So really, for me, there is no need to wear the soup. In the winter I take a bath at night, and a shower in the morning both solely to warm me up. Did I mention I like to be warm?

In the summer, I DO WEAR it!! It is hot here- like 85 in my house hot, and yes, I do stink! EVEN WITH IT, l'd say that with aluminum or without, nothing's going to help if you're sweating all day long. So, come May, I'll dust off the old tube and slather it on with the rest of civilized humanity. And Glenn, you can be assured, I won't stink on the plane.

Well, mostly. HA!! Last time I flew home, I had 4 flights to ward off the stink. and mostly it wasn't working. I took a mini rinse off in the "Big City" here, and that worked until I got to Frankfurt, but all bets were off once I got to Chicago. Poor kid next to me. :sad2: I had even changed clothes, but I just wasn't gettin' my roses, cinnamon rolls and lavendar thing going.

OK, so just so ya know, I'm not like Shrek or anything, there just isn't a huge need for it during the 6 months when my "glisten" is frozen to my skin.

Liesa-
I spent all day running around and getting last minute stuff together. I didn't know there was so many last minutes. LOLOL

I'm going to miss a lot of your fun but I will be having some fun of my own! ;)

Good luck with all your ADRs and I hope you get everything you want! :goodvibes

YOU READ THE WHOLE THING ALREADY??!! :scared1: :worship::worship::worship: WOW!

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: That's the smilie all newcomers get. I wish they'd put the real welcome one on the main page! :lmao:

Yeah, the chit- chat is more about farting, and I can't even remember what else. :confused3 Why does is matter? OH yeah, vegetables. Maroo, you're still going to have to put up with veggie jokes... It's part of the contract. :rotfl2:

I love this post...

Only one potty break! :rotfl:

Change the contract! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

:welcome:

If she can get through the whole thread with one break, surely you can get through Sunday's race with only one, right????

I never stop to plan my souvies... perhaps I should!

Kathy

Only in the obsessive world of mine would you find this level of absurdity. Absurd as it is, it has been fun, and I'm learning a LOT!!! :yay:

:lmao:

Of course you, being a woman, doesn't realy need it because you naturally smell like roses, cinnamon rolls and a fresh summer breeze all rolled into one.

I do smell like that in the winter AND the summer. It's a gift. Ha! ok, not so much, more like burning coal and garbage- at least in the winter, which deodorant doesn't help with much. Summer breeze?? our breezes come from the village where you can choose from cow dung or camel droppings. Maybe Oregon will treat me better in the summer breeze department. :confused3

HA!! A shower doesn't take that long- but I've been known to hang out for hours in a hot tub.

I'll take your brother IL's word for it, but why use it, if you just don't need it. My kids are my radar; if they tell me I stink, I'm perfectly happy to go rinse off and use my lavendar soap. ;)

I'll check those out when I get there, they sound intriguing!

I will do that!! I'm good at both squeaking AND leaking!!

Dang! I do like ice wine, but it's a rather expensive habit!! I'm afraid that'll be way out of my price range.

Yeah, snow'd be pretty tough to sell. Probably not a good money maker either- at least this year.

Beaver Butt soap?? WHOA!! I might get some of those for Christmas gifts for my DH and BILs! :lmao:

Such a fun list of souvenirs! :)

Can't wait to talk about ADR's! :yay:

See? You're already missing my getting flamed out for my lack of deodorant style. :lmao::lmao:

You're going to have a super great time! Too bad MJ wont' be joining you, that would have been a massively funny TR theme!
:rotfl2:
